Island Chicken Inasal can be found in the D’Mall. Interior wise there is nothing to be excited about. The food, on the other hand, is something to gush about. If you care to know my opinion, their chicken inasal is tastier than the ones that I tried in other restos. I ordered Pecho Meal (PHP119) with atsara sidings. Breast is my least favorite part of the chicken because most of the time it tends to be tough and bland, two characteristics that were absent in this meal, to my surprise. The meat was real tasty, even juicy. It tasted good sans condiments.

Not a chicken fan? You may want to try Pork Liempo (PHP110), which according to my friend was okay.

They offer Frozen Iced Tea (PHP80), which tasted just your regular iced tea only in a slurpee-like state.

But more than the inasal, what I consider to be the real gem of the place is Kansi (PHP310), the Ilonggo version of bulalo. The serving is big, good for two to three people. We were a company of six but it sufficed. Kansi is a like a cross between bulalo and sinigang, the soup is creamier and more cloudy than the typical bulalo, and has a hint of a sour taste. Also the meat was very tender and packed with flavor. It was so good I wanted it all for myself. In fact the pecho, as good as it was, faded in the background the moment the delicious taste of kansi burst in my mouth. If I didn’t love Boracay, I’d still go back just for this.

Island Chicken Inasal doesn’t serve tap water, but they have bottled ones which you can buy for 45 bucks.

If you’re going to Boracay this summer, do not forget to try this place and please order kansi so you’d know for yourself why I’m raving about it.

It was full of people when we had dinner here. The food was delicious. You can order the spicy alternative of each inasal/barbecue. No unli rice so you have to pay 25 pesos for a cup of rice (a bit pricey I think). Some food also doesn't have rice on it so you have to order it separately.

We had a take out order of barbecue for dinner and I have to say it's really one of the best :) For 153 PHP, you get three meaty sticks served with your usual sawsawan and add around 25 for rice :9

As far as service is concerned, it was just meh. The cashier didn't even place disposable utensils with our take out and when I asked her about it, she just sighed.

Overall, we recommend this if you're looking for something different than your usual inihaw goods ;)

Wifey wanted inasal in Boracay, so instead of going to the Mang Inasal types - went here instead. The inasal is good! We had paa, pork inasal and batchoy.

The somewhat odd part was the batchoy being a little "bak kut teh" styled soup with a peppery line down the throat. I like bah kut teh, at least the Singaporean style so I didn't mind.

The wife liked it so we may even have a return trip there. :)

Why not a perfect 5? The chicken was too small! Signs of the times I guess.

I've had better Inasal and the chicken seemed small. their batchoy had too much msg. Better head further down to station 2 if you want authentic batchoy. My mom-in-law was annoyed that they advertised free iced tea (front standing poster) for every batchoy ordered but didn't give any as that price/promo was not valid anymore. Duh. They could put it down, couldn't they? Also the munggo soup was not good. Our cook makes better munggo soup.

Sorry no pic as I am always famished when eating here hehe

I dunno but I really like the inasal here - don't get the liempo as it tastes too much like 'pig' if you know what I mean.

Ate here 2x already for dinner during this trip hehe
