Lunch Date  with Grams! #AlingCrisingInItallianis

Saturdays are for my lola,  i make it a point to take her out for lunch every chance i get.  As I've previously mentioned,  she is a picky eater and knows only two types of cuisines - Ours and the one laced with too much MSG.  I took another gamble and decided to bring her to Itallianis.

Man,  the last time i dined at Itallianis was 6 years ago.  All i remember is that they serve good pasta and the complimentary bread is weally yummy.  Just so you know,  i tried to replicate the olive oil x balsamic vinegar dip at home and i failed miserably.

We arrived a little after 10am,  got a seat and i quickly browsed the menu.  I settled on the following:

| Chicken Itallianis.  (php 560).  Chicken sautéed in white wine,  Italian sausage,  white onion,  red bell pepper and Rosemary potatoes.   The chicken is cooked perfectly and bursting with flavor.  The veggies are not overcooked and I am able in love with the Rosemary potatoes.  Grams loved this!  She finished one cup of rice while feasting on a perfectly cooked fowl.

| Shrimp Fra Diablo.  (Lunch - php 450, Regular - php 650,  Abbondanza - php 950).   Fettuccine in tomato cream sauce with shrimps,  garlic,  spinach,  asparagus and feta cheese.

A beautiful plate was served before me.  It is a feast of the senses,  apart from the excellent plating,  it will tease your olfactory nerves as well.   We have covered sight and smell,  i am happy to report that this plate passed with flying colors on the taste department.    The noodles are cooked  al dente.  The marriage of tomato in cream made me believe in forever,  the creamy texture and the tomato flavor is on point.  Not too heavy and not too sour.   My favourite veggie (also known as asparagus) is cooked to perfection,  crunchy on each bite.  There were generous servings of shrimp too!  And yes,  they know how to cook shrimp - it's soft and not rubbery.  I like the fact that they removed the shells,  this is perfect for lazy foodies like yours truly.  I wish they added more feta though.

Service was excellent.  The wait staff is really attentive and addressed all our needs.

My rendezvous with Italliani's is a success.  I am definitely adding them on the list of Grams Approved Restaurants.

Peace Out!

Had dinner with a friend. As we are too tired to walk, we decided to go to the nearest restaurant we can find and can seat us immediately. So we ended up at Italliani's.

We got the following:

127860 Spinach and Artichoke Formaggio (lunch size) this was just 128076🏻. As the sound of the name it appears to be so delish, but I feel it lacks taste. 128528
The dip was too creamy for me, giving the feeling like I'm spreading béchamel sauce on the bread. The menu described it as having a creamy blend of cheeses, however it taste bland. The saltiness of the cheese is M.I.A. It was good they added some dried tomato as toppings as it somehow had added flavor to the dip. Overall this dish is just a 1108811088️ for me.

127860 Fettucinne Beef Ragu - I liked this dish as compared to our antipasto. The sauce was good and seasoned perfectly. The pasta is also cooked al dente. The beef chunks are tender, however I feel that there are only a few meat and a bit fatty. Overall, it's a 110881108811088️ for me because if the sauce and pasta.

We had no time for dessert, (which is a bummer) as we are both in a hurry...128542

Overall it's a 110881108811088️ for me, service was ok and food is just fine. Good thing we have a bistro card and it skipped our mind that it is a Monday, so it's 30% off!

A 128221, if you plan to dine in their Glorietta branch. Not ideal for big groups as the place is quite smaller as compared to other branches.

I favor Italianni's over TGIFriday's but only because of the price. Good food, but cheaper for a Monday dinner on an ordinary day. We got Rustico flat bread plus pasta to share. They probably forgot the flat bread that it was served late. We were almost finished with the pasta when it arrived. Italiani's is small in Glorietta, and the service that night was slow. I had better experience in Italiani's Greenbelt.

Celebrated my close friend's birthday here. She ordered the Salmon and Dill pizza and Shrimp Fra Diablo pasta. I enjoyed the pizza very much. I wasn't expecting it to be very delicious. Salmon+cream cheese+goat cheese=heaven on the tonque. The pasta was suppose to be mild hot but I didn't taste any spice. I also tried the lychee mint cooler. They used real organic leaf for the mint.

Pork chops.. Amazing mushroom sauce.. Very tender chops and tasty crispy spinach. Definitely something to go back to.. The bread is not part of the serving, just added it coz it's a great way to enjoy the sauce 128522

Had lunch here yesterday. This wasn't where we originally planned to have lunch to celebrate our anniversary but the wifey volunteered to look for costumes for our daughter's dance competition and the nearest mall was Glorietta.
Ordered our favorite Minestrone soup, and Sicilian Chicken Salad.
While waiting, we were served focacia bread, still hot and fresh from the oven, and dipped on their signature olve oil and balsamic sauce.
The kids had parmesan fish fillet.
Fresh dalandan juice FTW!
Ordered the new york cheesecake and requested the staff to write Happy Anniversary. Just before leaving, the staff gave us a complimentary birthday ice cream scoop on a plate and greeted us Happy Anniversary.

For my 💯💯 128513128513 Received my anniversary pay from the company and decided to have my dinner to this resto. 128522

Started with complimentary bread. crispy, and blended well with the olive oil and black vinegar dip.

Had Grilled tenderloin steak, What else can I said but, "I loved it!” It was perfectly cooked and juicy beef tenderloin served with a green peppercorn sauce, mashed potato and seasonal vegetables.

Quite expensive but perfect, nonetheless, for once in a while indulgences.

The service the vibe and the atmosphere is great 128522

Carbonara craving!! I assumed that the pasta was great here so I didn't risk trying other places.. Well, it wasn't for me. The carbonara was seriously lacking in meat, sauce and seasoning, has several undercooked pasta AND has a few strands of a different kind of pasta hidden underneath. Err. And I wish they just distributed the SUPER huge chunks of mushrooms evenly in smaller pieces. The carbonara would've been okay for me if the price wasn't steep. The servers were very friendly though but the bill and food took too long to arrive.

Aside from the usual pasta dish, we ordered a pesto & guacamole flat bread. A somehow cheaper alternative to pizza (a few pesos less or the same price as some of the pizzas). Tastes great too. 128077

I will always go back to Italianni's for their Sicilian Salad. Had lunch here with my friend (I'm trying to recruit) Janice who just came back from Singapore. We ordered the salad to share. We thought the serving was smaller than what it was before, but just enough for the two of us. Loved the crunchiness of their fruits and veggies, and the generous amount of chicken in there. I also used my Bistro card and coupon for discount and free appetizer so Weeee! Janice got their ravioli (which I wasn't too happy about).

Service was great, so we left full and happy.

Is it just me or has Italianni's lost its touch? What used to be the "in" place to fine is now just one of those places that serves good but not great food. The dip for the spinach and artichoke was too liquidy for me. Seafood pasta (forgot the name but I think it was a new offering, tomato based) was just OK. The 4 cheese pizza was the only thing worth coming back for at this point for me. Next time, ill go to CPK instead.

We were doing some quick errands in Glorietta when suddenly hunger struck me and 128118 Remy. We had to look for a place that has good ventilation, good food and most of all, comfortable couches.

Ok. The primary reason why we chose this place is because of the Bistro membership discount. 128514

We ordered a pizza so it's not too heavy. I wanted something with Arugula so we ordered Pancetta & Pesto. We also had Gambas. The pizza was surprisingly good! Although my top 2 spots are still My Kitchen by Chef Chris and Woodfire!

PS. Service here is excellent as expected from Bistro Group.
