Today’s visit is an impromptu as requested by a friend who came back from the US. We ordered a bunch of Toro Spicy Maki and Special Yaki Gyoza. Their gyoza was good but their Toro Spicy Maki was the best! I’m not a fan of spicy food but I just couldn’t stop eating this. We also got Toro Spicy Sashimi but it was kinda bumped off when the Toro Spicy Maki arrived. But the sashimi is not bad at all. The other dishes we ordered are the tonkatsu and ebi tempura. The tonkatsu had nothing special on it. The ebi tempura was okay.

Looking for sashimi, sushi, maki, udon, ramen, sake??? The list goes on but nihonbanshitei is the place when everyone wants something different for japanese.

Chirashi don was good except for their squid which was too chewy. Yakitori and sake was perfect.

It would be nice if they dont allow smoking inside the resto.

Salmon Chazuke by Nihon Bashitei: YEY

The soup was delicate. Literally, chazuke means food submerged (tsuke/zuke) in green tea (ocha/cha). For Nihon, however, tea is combined with soup stock made from pork and other ingredients. This makes the broth richer and yet still keeping that clean leafy taste which is the signature of the dish. The warm rice is soft but not mushy, and the grilled salmon was flaky and lightly salted. There's also a garnish of nori and sesame seeds. Should you choose to put some, diners are also given wasabe for that familiar nasal spice. The different layers of flavors you get in each spoonful of this dish is just impressively understated.

Are you in a bad mood? Feeling a bit grumpy? Get this one. Let's see if this doesn't make you feel warm and fuzzy inside. I also recommend this on those rare occasions that you've had too much of the usual Japanese fare like ramen. No not ramen. Maybe too much katsu or sushi. But not ramen. You can never have enough of ramen.

My ever favorite Spicy Toro Maki! 128525 For me.. this is the best place to eat gyoza in Manille. 128513

I'm closer to the Tomas Morato branch but I prefer to eat here because they have bigger servings.

Omurice by Nihonbashi Tei: YEY.

To the uninitiated, ketchup-flavored rice could be the japanese equivalent of someone dipping their fries in sundae, it's weird but it's also strangely satisfying. Omurice consists of a fluffy omelette (omuretsu) and fried rice (raisu) which usually has chicken mixed in with it. As one would expect, omurice would characteristically be sweet and tangy, chiefly because of the ketchup, but it really works well with the buttery taste of the egg wrap. Some versions would have vegetables like green bell pepper or asparagus, and sometimes swapping the chicken with other kinds of meat. To put it in more familiar terms, it's like eating breakfast for dinner.

I've only had Omurice thrice. First at the DW Cafe in Eastwood, second in Japan as part of the Tokyu Hotel Kamata's breakfast offering, and third, here in Nihon Bashitei. Of the 3, I like Nihon's the best. The serving is hefty, but I wished there were more chicken. Each order is very filling. They give you a bowl of miso soup as part of the meal and there's complimentary cold tea, as any decent Japanese restaurant would.

Had our Christmas get together here with my Vessels Family last December 2016. This is nearby Don Bosco so we choose this place.

It was past 8:00 pm when we got here, we don't have any reservations and the place was full of people celebrating as well the yuletide season.
Luckily, we got a room exclusive for us with no additional charges.

We ordered food individually and food to share. Prices are affordable.

Good service, eventhough we nees to call the crew how many times because they're really busy as well with other guests. But they also attended to iur needs which good.

I've been to Nihonbashi Tei many time already but I just discovered their Karaoke Rooms located on the second floor recently to spend a Christmas Party with my friends. They charge at P70 per head no minimum order required which is super affordable and a good place to hang out to distress after office hours! 10084️ Their food is GOOD AS USUAL. If you want to do Karaoke Night with your friends here better reserve a week ahead to ensure a slot! They also have mini private rooms on the first floor good for 5-7 pax.

MY FAVORITE JAPANESE PLACE!! Well, one of my favorite Japanese places! Haha! We got our usual order - salmon sashimi, ebi tempura and beef teppan. Their salmon sashimi has always been consistent - fresh taste and thickly sliced. The ebi tempura was good. I love how the beef teppan’s meat was so tender and the side veggies were just rightly cooked. It wasn’t soggy but not super crunchy which really went well with the beef.

It's my first time here since I've heard good reviews from my family and my verdict is - they're right! I loved almost everything we ordered!

110881108811088110881108811088️ takoyaki (no veggies, just octopus)

Up until now I'm still dreaming about the takoyaki and the toro spicy tuna maki 128525

Visited this over a Friday lunch time. Almost all tables were occupied except for the bar area, even the rooms were unavailable. Luckily, one table was vacant when we arrived.

We ordered the following:
>Spicy Tuna Maki - which was my favorite here, it was 6-pcs. of enormous maki that I can't even eat in one bite. It has quite a strong spicy taste and I like dipping it in soy sauce and wasabi

>Tempura - this was generally ok. We were served each with one tempura sauce. One order of tempura has 4 pcs. We ordered 2 sets. The shrimp size was also just OK.

>Kani Salad - serving size is good for sharing. Japanese mayo was plenty even the vegetables and kani included in it.

>Beef Teppanyaki - recommended by the waitress. It was tasty and serving size was plenty, although the beef for me wasn't quite tender.

Since most of our orders were set meals, we were also served with cups of rice, bowls of miso soup, a small plate of spareribs, and glasses of iced coffee (this was really delicious and creamy!) which were part of the set meal.

We were so full after this meal. Serving time was generally quick.

Mistakenly ordered spicy toro AND spicy salmon sashimi. Both are good but too spicy for me to eat even half. Good thing there's sukiyaki don (their version of gyudon) and grilled chicken skin. And that's how you try to forget your troubles.

Had dinner, drinks and videoke here with friends for a suprise despedida party (FYI--they have rooms for group videoke) 128522 Truly a great choice, as this restaurant offered one of the best and authentic Japanese food I've ever had!128077🏼

I ordered the Nigirisushi and the variants were amazingly fresh, and surprisingly cost efficient for PHP350, given the food quality and quantity. Also got to taste their Toro Spicy Sushi and fried rice which were equally delicious.

Customer service was also commendable. Staff members were always quick and willing to assist even though we had "customized" requests (ie., serve wine, balloons and room designs set-up, etc).

Will definitely be back to taste the other Jap food options they offer!128522

Being a workhorse on a friday night has some pros for instance i can let the traffic ease before going home but since i was so engrossed with what im doing that i didnt notice its already 10pm and the pangs of hunger began to set in.

If its 11pm the chance of finding an open resto would be high at either jupiter street or the japanese restos along pasay road.

So its nihonbanshitei for me, theres still a thick crowd inside and mostly i assumed were college kids having late dinner here before going out clubbing.

But i was able to get a table without a problem. I Ordered enoki mushroom bacon and asupara bacon yakitori, as usual its really good, dont forget to ask for teriyaki sauce for extra flavor.

Onigiri salmon as i need some rice on my meal, it was the last to arrive but it was also good nonetheless.

Also ordered Sea urchin and salmon sushi since i dont think i can consume whole chirashi at this hour.  It was good, salmons a bit dry and they already put a little wasabi on between the fish and rice. Sea urchin was 128522128522128522

What better way to celebrate than to indulge in Japanese food with your friends? And celebrate we did. We had spicy toro maki, enoki bacon, grilled chicken skin, spicy salmon sashimi, non-spicy salmon sashimi (yes, I love salmon sashimi 127843), mixed tempura, and the chirashi sushi pictured above. Needless to say they were all good, and we were quite full after our binge.

This was the first time we tried uni. It's not something I'd go back for specifically, but it's ok.

We came in at around 8:30pm, and the place is hopping with the dinner crowd. It's much harder to catch the waitstaff's attention than in the late evenings when I usually come (and even then, it's also a bit hard to get their attention as well). I dunno, but I miss the Adriatico branch because it's much less crowded.

Catch-up lunch with my cousin and we both craved for Japanese so off to Nihonbashitei we go! 128523

Since we arrived a bit late, all the tables and the bar seats were occupied and we had no choice but be seated at the smoking area, or else we wait until a table becomes vacant. Not willing to wait, we're hungry. Luckily, no one was smoking that time but the room smelled like cigarette smoke already. 128567 Another downside of staying here rather than at the main dining area was it was so hard to order or call their waitstaff since no one was assigned inside. You have to go outside and approach them.

I love going here during lunch because of their very affordable Lunch Sets, which already includes soup (or onigiri for the noodle sets) and dessert/ coffee.

127982 Zaru Soba
Unlike the cold soba in Nadai Fujisoba or Asakusa, the buckwheat noodles at Nihon was served over ice. It came with a separate bowl of tsuyu (dipping sauce), quail egg, and condiments like wasabi, thinly-sliced nori and spring onions. The noodles had that firm springy texture when you bite into it. The dipping sauce was not too salty and it was very refreshing. I liked it even without the condiments.

127982 Beef Teppan Yaki Set
For P280, this was so sulit! The thinly sliced beef was stir-fried in brown sauce, mixed with crunchy veggies. My cousin liked it coz it's really tasty and best paired with Japanese rice. Since the serving of the beef can be good for two people, she still had leftovers to bring home.

To end our meal, we shared a glass of iced coffee and nata de coco. The coffee was so good. Creamy and perfectly sweet. 128156 The nata de coco served with crushed ice was pretty good too, but of course, I'd pick the iced coffee over this anytime.
