Good value for money. We didn't finish the chicken karaage as some pieces were not cooked through.

It's my first time here and I think I'd be back again.

Good food, very affordably priced, huge serving.

If you are looking for a cozy japanese restaurant then this is not the resto for you.

We were a group of 6 and paid around 3,100 only. Everything we ordered were good and huge serving. Book a private room if you are a non-smoker.

2 orders Chirashin Don Php350
- fresh and yummy
- served with miso soup

Uni Sushi - NOMNOMNOM

2 orders spicy toro maki
- even if we were a group of 6, we were not able to finish it
- very huge serving

Seafood curry
Katsu curry
-both of very huge serving

Ankake ramen
Some soba and grilled items

My personal fave are the Chirashi Don, Uni and Spicy Toro Maki. Everything we ordered were good, flavorful, and are of huge serving. 128513128513

I'd be back.

Didn't get the chance to take photos of all the food as we were too famished.

Wednesday dinner was a sushi kind of night. Actually a Japanese and Korean night. Haha!

After hearing about my sister having some wagyu beef in a food expo, I instantly craved for anything Japanese. Since it was raining, a hot bowl of ramen would’ve been really nice, but I was craving something else. SALMON SASHIMI. We were in MOA, there was not much sushi places in the area so we went straight to Malate area to get one in Nihonbashitei.

Craving was definitely satisfied. Six thick slices of fresh salmon cost around 330 bucks. A good deal especially that there were two of us sharing the cuts.

I also ordered one uni sushi for the two of us to try. My first uni experience was at Haru when I tried a bit from a friend’s order. It tasted like the ocean and i did not like it at all. Malangsa. However, after hearing a lot of people still rave about this special kind of sashimi or seafood Japanese people enjoy, I knew I just have to try again to give it another chance and to kill my curiosity. So we did. This time, it was not as fishy as the first time I tried it. It was okay. Not bad, actually. Small progress, I guess. Haha! What’s good about uni perhaps is the silky and creamy feel it gives you while you eat it. It’s what makes it special, I think. At least now, I can say I tried uni sushi and did not spit it out, right? Haha!

We also got the Tori Karaage and again, it disappointed me. Three big slices of chicken that lacked seasoning and had plenty of breading. Not as good as the first time I tried Nihon’s version in their Adriatico branch.

We also got two sticks of their Enoki Bacon for 70 bucks per piece. Very disappointed. It was too expensive for that three small pieces. Swear, they were not that small before. :( Tasted pretty okay, but the size was not fair. Included the calamansi on the picture for reference. 128557

Service was an okay at this branch. Cleanliness, okay also. Saw some tiny cockroaches. O_O

We liked it so much that we had to do a repeat within the week! #spicytoromakiLOVE I read somewhere that the branch in Arnaiz Ave serves sulit lunch meals. My sister and I tried our luck and the kuripots in us were not disappointed.

Of course we ordered our newfound favorite, spicy toro maki. Still great. Also tried out one of the lunch sets. The tonkatsu lunch set (Php 260) included a cup of rice, miso soup, tsukemono (sides?) and iced coffee. The servers were accommodating enough that they served us two sets of tsukemono and coffee. The whole set was so filling! :)

We love the prompt service and the consistent quality of food. We're sure we are going to keep coming back for more.

Finally got to eat at this Japanese institution, albeit at a different branch. My sister and roommates decided to eat here out of the blue :) As Cla said in her review, the menu was so extensive, we didn't know what to order! Some kind of sushi was a must, takoyaki as well. Ramen was suggested by a colleague, and we tried uni.

Spicy toro maki (Php 200): My favorite among the bunch. The topping tasted sweet/tangy/spicy-fresh (haha ang daming adjectives) and the crunchy things on top made the texture more interesting. The sushi rice was lightly mixed with rice vinegar. What pleased us most is the size of each individual sushi. It was BIG! Hindi kasya in one bite :p One order includes sux pieces of this baby.

Takoyaki (Php 180): a pleasant surprise! Served warm with dashi (?) and Japanese mayo. My sister said this ranks second in her list of top takoyaki (the first was the one we tried from last year's BFF).

Ankake ramen (Php 280): we asked the server about the best seller, and this did not disappoint. Considering the price, this was a good filling buy. It was good that we decided to split our order because it was a bowl that kept giving hahaha andami ng serving! :) we even asked to take our leftovers home.

Uni sashimi (Php 220): our most disappointing buy. It was our first time to try uni and the server suggested this. I recall other bloggers saying that they enjoyed eating this so we gave it a shot. Unfortunately, it was an acquired taste, and we didn't really understand what the fuss was all about. Needless to say, we won't be getting this anytime soon. Not so sulit for me :(

Props to the crew for offering to seat us in the exclusive part of the resto with our own airconditioner. We also liked their house cold tea.

I liked their beef teppan. Really tasty and affordable. Salmon sashimi is loove! The only thing that bothers me is the place itself. I see A LOT of DOMs, mostly foreigners, with really young Pinays. Probably as young as 14 years old. I know that this is actually "normal" given that this is Ermita/Malate area, but heck, it still feels different if you sit beside them in a restaurant!

It's PayDay Friday and I was so so sure that the traffic is gonna be hell. Because of this, killing time near the area is the best thing to do to wait for the traffic die down a little. Dining out with workmates is the best option. Thus we went to Nihonbashitei.

We went to their Pedro Gil branch, a few blocks away from their Adriatico branch. I think this one is newer and cleaner than the other one. Smoking area in the middle part so we asked to be seated in a non-smoking private rooms. Good thing there was one available 128517

We got the usuals and some new things to try. All on me to decide on 128514 my friends trust me that much. Haha, pressure though. 128531

SPICY TORO MAKI - 411088
I liked this but I have always preferred the salmon more. What I noticed is the presentation is not as good as the Adriatico and Morato branches. Seems like less effort given in this branch.

SPICY SALMON MAKI - 4.5 11088
Same taste but na-OC ako sa presentation. One sushi was not upright. Wuw ha. 128514

BEEF TEPPANYAKI - 211088
Major major disappointment. Used to love this in their Adriatico branch but the one served tonight was TOO OILY and TOO SALTY. I swear they should've changed the name to Salty Beef Teppanyaki. or Beef Teppanyaki in Salt and Oil sauce. 128531128531128548128548

TORI KARAAGE - 211088
Even this tasted not as good as the one's I've tried before. Just three slices of thigh part chicken, lacked seasoning and not as juicy as the previous ones. What happened?! 128547128547

ENOKI BACON STICKS 411088
Liked this and the asparagus ones. I forgot how they called it tho. 70 bucks for a stick with three rolls of either bacon or asparagus wrapped in bacon and grilled. Yummy.

There goes my bad experience at Nihon Pedro Gil. Sayang, place is way decent than the Adri branch pa naman. 128531

Without a doubt, one of the best Japanese restaurants out there! Japanese curry is good and the tempura is worth ordering every single visit!

The food overall, is GREAT. But the staff here sucks compared to their other branch in Arnaiz. Staff here normally prioritizes foreign customers over local ones.

Nihonbashitei never fails to give you the comfort you're looking for in a restaurant - a perfect meal consisting of good food, affordable price, and an ambience that looks like straight from its country of origin. This spicy toro sashimi is definitely one of those things off the menu that's perfect for the summer heat or upcoming rainy weather :)

no matter what time you go, you can find authentic Japanese food with reasonable price :)

p.s. make sure you are seated in a table visible to the waitress haha, sometimes it takes time for them to serve you because of the dividers for each table :)

Sushi and sashimi overload, friends crave for a Japanese food and this leads us to a favorite place to fulfill Jap craving.

Authentic Japanese food, with an extensive affordable menu that makes you want to order everything and they have a big serving. Good food and good value for money so I'm giving them a four.

The ambience is ok but the management needs to do something about the cleanliness of the place. Saw a cockroach crawl inside the sashimi display. 128513128513

Nihonbashitei is one of the most authentic Japanese restaurants I've tried! I'm a huge fan of salmon sashimi so of course I loved that! And each slice of salmon is thick so it's definitely worth the price.

As for my main course, I ordered their Katsudon! I have to say, it's not their best food on the menu! The gyoza tasted even better.

Overall, the service was pretty good! Although it was hard to call the attention of the servers since we were in the non smoking area which was a closed room!
