It's been a long time since my last visit. What I enjoy at their restaurant is the wide dine-in space, number of private rooms, removal of footwear for some of said rooms, and presence of no-smoking signs.

Salmon Sashimi was really fresh and tender plus they gave big slices.

Ebi Tempura, including the okra, packed a good crunch and the shrimp inside was very hot.

Gindara was the best part of our meal thanks to its sweet Teriyaki sauce and tenderness. I had softer ones elsewhere but theirs was fine already.

Rice serving was very generous! Every item we bought for lunch came with a small bowl full of good Japanese rice. Iced Coffee was insanely delicious and strong-tasting. Cold Tea was our "water" throughout the meal, no regrets!

Service was relatively quick and we ate a bit after the peak of lunchtime. A particular server of ours was friendly but there was a moment where she could've chosen better words to inform my tita about fruits not being available. I think she didn't need to iterate in front of us all that my tita was already informed, because it can embarrass her and make her feel bad.

We ordered spicy salmon sashimi (of course) and 5 kind Mori, which includes salmon, tuna, squid, tamago, and uni. I haven’t dined here for a long time and I noticed that the spicy salmon plate got significantly smaller, but is still great in terms of quality. The uni was heavenly and the tamago is the perfect meal-ender.

Quite busy during lunch time so expect a line and a long waiting time for your order.

For the longest time, I prefer dining in the original branch of Nihonbashitei because I think the second one is little small. But this place is actually okay. It has fewer people and the servers aren’t excited to clean up your plates right after eating because there are no people waiting in line.

We got our usual orders…
Ebi Tempura - Their tempura looks more pale now and tastes a little oilier than what I remembered.
Beef Teppanyaki - I think the beef portion of the dish is smaller now and it has more veggies. The beef portion is also 80% fat. In terms of taste, I think it’s still the same - tender beef sitting in sweet salty sauce.
Salmon Sashimi - As always, their sashimi slices are really thick and fresh.

Toro spicy maki and salmon spicy maki are the bomb!! My classic favorites here in Nihon. Aside from the fact that they are priced fairly, the portion is huge and the quantity and quality of the meat was never compromised. Value for money indeed! I only discovered this place through various recommendations and word of mouths from friends and decided to give it a try. Ever since I frequent this place even if I am alone whenever I need that sushi fix. That's how good these were. I was also able to try their other food like tonkatsu curry and they are affordable and delish as well.

128149Date for Two: Katsudon, Gyoza, Spicy Toro Maki
128140Total: P700

Overall: Spicy Toro is the bomb! Katsudon is the same as the ones in other Japanese restos. And the gyoza as well.

Value for money: But hey, it’s Nihonbashi Tei – it’s worth it! Try ordering other dish greater than Katsudon and Gyoza 128521

Last Monday was a holiday (Thanks to our Muslim brothers and sisters!), so we went out to: 1. Eat out (as a pre-birthday lunch celebration), and 2. Search for my sister's engagement party gown. Since my mom was craving for Japanese food, we decided to eat at Izakaya Nihonbashitei.

We arrived at around 12NN, and surprisingly, the restaurant was not packed at all! We proceeded to order from their lunch sets (which consists of the main dish, with their side dishes of the day and a choice of nata de coco or iced coffee for dessert):

✔ For Me: Chirashi Sushi (Php 380) - 11088110881108811088
Various types of sashimi on a bed of Japanese rice. Miso soup. Nata de coco for dessert. What more could you ask for? 128586 The sashimi were all fresh, but I hoped each slice was thicker than what was served to me. 128557 I especially loved the uni (sea urchin) sashimi! So sweet, and fresh, and oh so delightful! 128156128156128156 The rice was too much for me though, I was not able to finish all of it.

✔ For My Sister: Shoyu Ramen Set (Php 200) - 11088110881108811088
Sooo affordable! A bowl of shoyu ramen + onigiri + nata de coco -- my sister was so full afterwards! I was not able to taste it, but my sister said it was good -- not cloying, but filling. Toppings were of ample amount, enough to sustain you through each bite. Personally though, I didn't like the (look of the) noodles, because it looks like the noodles you can buy in packs. 128553

✔ For My Mom: Grilled Salmon Teriyaki Set (Php 380) - 11088110881108811088
My mom kept on complaining about the serving size of the nata. 128517 Nevertheless, she enjoyed her meal a lot! The salmon seemed juicy and fresh, and the serving size was huuuuge. 128525 I wished there was more sauce though (so the flavors can seep in better), but my mom does not care much for sauces, so I guess it was just right for her. She also said that the rice was too much. Hehe 128513

We also got Salmon Sashimi (our Japanese Restaurant staple) for sharing:

✔ Salmon Sashimi (Php 380) - 1108811088110881108811088
FRESHNESS! 128525 I loved each bite. Each slice was thick, sweet, and fresh! I loved how the sashimi was not frozen, but cold enough to ensure its freshness. 128076

Overall, the food came in huge servings and we were all super full after we finished everything! Service was okay. Servers seem very young, but most of them approach us professionally. What I disliked though, was the swarm of flies who kept on coming near our food! 128557 I don't want to share my food with them. 128553 -111088 for this, sorry, Nihonbashitei -- I love you, but I am a neat freak. 128586

Tip: For many Japanese restaurants, they have a special menu during lunch time (bento sets), so make super to viait during this time for more savings. 128521 Super affordable and filling 128076

It’s one of the go to places of my church friends for a reason. Authentic Japanese that thrives for being delicious and having superior value for money as evident in their serving size.

Despite a tacky ambiance with old flooring and some beaten structure, the pull of their food continues to brings lines of people waiting especially on weekends.

I highly recommend their Spicy Tuna and Salmon. This is available in almost all Japanese restaurants but they just do it so much better! Spiced and mayo just right with really fresh sashimi.

The Tempura has a nice light taste with a significant fill of prawn. The sauce is not a must with their version. Have Yasai Itame or Edemame as well for a healthier addition to your meal.

So after a hard game of basketball were all hungry and this place is just perfect for a late night munch.

I was eyeing the gomoku kamameshi but was told its serving time is around 45 mins, so i had to cancel and order katsu curry and asupara/enoki bacon yakotori instead.

Katsu curry took quite a while before being served like 25 mins so i reckon the kamemeshi is hardly 45 mins but an hour.  All of our orders took a while and it comes in a long interval.

But the curry was ok, not quite as good as coco ichin, the yakitoris were good coz i was really hungry.

Other donburis that my companions order are just so so according to them, sukiyakidon was too sweet and dry.

The place is due for renovation, and cleanliness needs some work too.  I didnt like the cigar scent that envelopes the whole resto.

I had good experience here before but maybe this place was nice of your looking for sushi/sashimi/etc  but not much for donburi's.

I'm in search for the best maki/sashimi place in Manila. So far my favorite Is in Hanako. I'm crazy about their Tuna Spicy Crunch. In Nihonbashitei they have Tori Spicy Yaki (same component with hanako) but this one killed hanako! The tuna is super fresh and sweet. the spicy mix mayo of it is just right to blow your mind. they have sesame seeds around it that brings a roasted feeling of the maki. Definitely on top of my list! (so far)

This branch is infinitely better than the other Makati branch I visited last February! The last time I went kasi, the servers were not attentive, it smelled pretty bad and felt musty, and the food was mediocre. This branch, however, delivered solid food and I can't stop thinking about it. 128517

I got one of the bento boxes, and I finished everything in it. And I don't usually do that kasi I sometimes find some flavors too exotic hahaha. The salmon sashimi also had a great buttery texture and the pieces were THICK. And I got to sample some tonkatsu curry from my sister (huge serving!!!!!), and it was how I want my curry to taste.

I hope the closer branch (Morato) has the same quality! 128539128553

Maraming pagpipilian na pagkain. I Loved the food, they had huge servings and very affordable pa! Ambiance was okay, pero medyo mukhang luma na. But the service was fast!

Will come back here again to try their curry and next time may pictures na. 128522

Spent dinner tonight at Nihinbashitei. For employees working in Makati, this had to be one of the most famous Japanese Restaurants along Arnaiz. Popular for it's authentic Jap Food and ambiance, it's impossible to miss this out if you love Japanese cuisine!

I've been here many times already. And I keep coming back for the quality of their sushi! Went back tonight just to spend a quick dinner date with my boyfriend.

1. Miso Soup P50
Grabe the serving is really huge! A lot of people have said na sobrang sulit dito because of their big serving. Though procy ang food sulit naman and busog talaga! Share pa kami ng boyfriend ko in one order.

2. Toro Spicy Maki P250
THIS IS A MUST TRY. It's a Spicy Tuna Maki with a tempura crust on top. It's not super spicy naman and may lasa yung spiciness, hindi siya blunt. And freshly served you'll even see the chef preparing it.

3. Beef Teppan Yaki P280
128591🏻 Love the Teppan Yaki. Ang lambot ng meat, and one order is good for 2-3 already. Ang laki talaga ng serving. Sobrang authentic lang ng lasa and pagkaluto! 128076🏻

4. Calamansi Juice P50

Overall Rating: 4/511088
Don't go here during lunch or dinner time especially if you are bringing a car with you. Laging puno yung place and maraming nakapark. Ever since i've known this restaurant never nagkachance na walang tao as in sobrang lakas nila! Mostly executives yung customers and big time people. They also have private rooms where you can smoke, and a lot of big groups spend reunions here.

I'm not very fond of Japanese food so I can't really explain how good (or bad) my experience was. But here's what we ordered.

127860Seafood Ramen - The soup was almost like lomi. I wasn't that happy with it and also the noodles wasn't my type. It was like pansit canton. The serving is very big though. It's good for 4 given that you guys order something else.

127860Tepanyaki beef - this I liked. The flavor was really good and it had some veggies like bean sprout cooked with it. I recommend ordering this

127860Kimchi - This was good too. My dad loves kimchi and he liked it to.

127860California maki - I really don't eat maki, but this time i was tempted and I actually enjoyed it. Again, i'm no Japanese food expert, but i think the maki was big for one bite. 128517

Were craving for authentic japanese food but were also conscious of our pockets so we decided to had dinner here.

Im order their chirashi zushi which is really good at only 350. And if your into more squid, mackarel and roe, just ordere their special one with additional 150. But in good with the ordinary one. Also order their yakitori, 1 stick cost around 50 that comes in 3 pcs. Their miso soup is just ok. Gyozo is also good. While their steam clams is somewhat okay but i wouldnt order it again.

But again this is a great place for sushi, sashimi and yakitori. 128522
