Food was great except for the service! So sloooowww... 128542 this was my 2nd time. 1st was soft opening.. it's forgivable, but now? With few customers? Disappointing.. i also heard 2 customers are complaining their ebi tempura still not served.

Good food. You'll get your money's worth. Spicy toro roll is highly recommended. Service needs to improve though. We waited too long for the bill to come.

First time to have eaten Chiriashi in my entire life so I'm not a Chiriashi expert, but my box/plate came a little dry at the bottom and not fresh anymore there (weird). The rice was good and had fair amount of sake taste to compliment the cuts.

Ambiance was fairly nice and clean. Parking is easy and available. Staff were really nice but processing receipts take time.

Celebrated the birthday of my brothers here in Izakaya Nihonbashitei. Both of them, and my sister who's out of the country, are all June celebrants, and since we really loved our experience in Japan, they decided to treat us all in this much talked about Jap resto.

Nihonbashitei in Tomas Morato has 2 floors, the second being a lot bigger, and it reminded us so much about authentic Jap restos back in Japan. Their interiors really make you feel the Japanese ambience. They also offer private rooms where you can dine the Japanese way - of sitting down on the floor.

We ordered a lot. Libre eh! 128514 I had the set meal that includes miso soup and rice - the Ume Bento. This one's real big! It includes fresh salad, pork tonkatsu, grilled mackerel, tuna sashimi, egg, tofu with sauce, steamed veggies, and sour cucumber. Everything was very tasty. I personally liked the steamed veggies, super malinamnam. The sour cucumber (I don't know what it's called) was the pantanggal umay and it also tasted good.

My brother ordered the much bigger Matsu Bento that includes lobster tempura aside from the grilled mackerel and sashimi. And instead of tonkatsu, it had the beef misono.

Tatay ordered the Tempura Soba Udon. I'm not a fan of Soba so I didn't try it. But of course Tatay loved it. He loves everything anyway.

Kuya had Miso Ramen which he did not get to finish because of its strong ginger taste. I took a sip and yes, it really tastes like ginger. Weird. Their ramen here isn't your usual ramen. The soup was not thick and brothy.

We also had Ebi Tempura and the Sashimi Goten Mori - 5 kinds of sashimi that includes tuna, mackerel, salmon, squid, and uni! In the picture it looked really big but the serving was small. Yet, it was sashimi so it was perfect! I finished all the uni - always my favorite!

So far the experience was good. Although at the start, the waiter assigned to us was a bit confused he had mixed up some orders from different tables. This confirmed opinions of other people that told me how poor their service was.

Overall, I think there are other Jap restos that serve better food than them. Take for example Yabu's tonkatsu, Ramen Nagi's ramen, and Omakase's sashimis. But again, this experience with my family is perfect anyway because we were complete.

Went here after our little misadventure in another Japanese restaurant in Mindanao ave. Made us realize how far off from a lot of other Japanese restaurants in QC this place is in terms of food quality.

firstly, how can a japanese izakaya not have shrimp tempura? Its a travesty! Second, the servers were probably recruited from the nearby carinderia. Don't know the food, don't know how to serve. Thirdly, going to the restroom was very easy with eyes closed, i just have to follow the bad stench...

Now for the food! Sushi half and half was just ok. Tofu wakame salad ok just ok. The others like the rice toppings and ramen, forgettable!

Really liked the spicy toro and salmon rolls the first few times we ate here but having the two at one time is too much. Ramen here is not good at all. Shime Saba is plump but tastes odd. Chirashi is okay. We usually have the ebi changed to Saba. Their sushi rice is excellent.

The ground floor of the restaurant really smells bad though so best to dine at the second floor.

I still like this place though the last visit was better than now. Will be just mentioning those comment worthy food that we had. The oyakudon, toriyakidon were just fine and ok.

128204 chicken karaage
Still, yoshuken's the best! This one is too starchy (tasted like) and the chicken were small.

128204seafood tempura
I like the shrimps were big, the fish was a bit overcooked.

128204 spicy tuna bell roll
I like this, though i thought i was eating something Korean because it really does taste like the spicy sauce that you add at bibimbops.. So i really don't know if this is a hit or a miss.

128204 seafood curry
No. Way. The seafood (squid, mussels, tuna, salmon, shrimp) were all overcooked, they were too gummy and rubbery! Im guessing it's because of the very hot curry sauce (which was dark and a little spicy btw)

The internet sucks and sun signals weren't great. I think what keeps me from giving this 2 stars is because of the rooms offered--and the dining place as well-- quite big and maintained. CR is clearly separated and gender specific on the second floor.

Good place yo catch up with friends.

I was with someone disabled and they didn't even give priority in the waitlist. The lady didn't even bother to ask their manager. They do not value their customers. Don't eat here unless you're fully able and can stand for 30 mins. waiting for a table.

I was looking forward to eating here because of all the good reviews I've read about the place but tonight, I only had a very horrible experience. The sushi here, particularly the uni, is not fresh. I told the waiter and the chef angrily denied my claims. Very bad service! The waiter told us that they were out of gyozas for the night but minutes later, they sent out a fresh batch to another table. I will not recommend this place to anyone. Such a disappointment.

Ate here at 10pm on a Saturday night and was seated almost immediately. We ordered the spicy toro maki, spicy tuna sashimi, a bowl of gyu niku udon, and requested for a hot pot of their house tea. Suffice to say, I loved everything. Fresh ingredients were definitely used and the servings were generous, so much so that my friend and I had trouble finishing it all. Quite pricey, yes, but you get what you pay for.

We did not wait very long for our food to arrive and the service was not as bad as I thought it would be (based on previous reviews). It's nice to know that they pay attention. Would definitely come back!

Wow. My first nihonbashitei experience. I did hear a lot of flunks in this place, but in my experience it was actually good.

The place here is big. Two floors with VIP rooms on the second floor good for six pax a room. It's clean and classy. We were accommodated at one of those rooms.

128204 128525 hiyashi kitsune soba (featured)
One of the cold ramen selections for php250.
This hiyashi soba dish is served with the dipping sauce. And wasabi and toppings altogether in a bowl. So do not forget to mix the wasabi before eating it. This order has the kitsune or thin sliced tofu... So you know the wasabi-soba -spicy taste.. The kitsune adds the perfect sweetness in the dish.
Really great sweet pairing. Big serving prec

128204beef curry rice
Their curry is not so strong. Quite mild. Big serving prec. Beef not so tender

Their service, although i did follow up once for my order, was tolerably mediocre. I think the Japanese owner-cook (that we saw) is taking note of reviews.

At the end, we got free iced coffee--am not buying this (i know this is first wave coffee) , but just the thought of offering you something, is a sign of hospitality? Or somewhat like that? Ahehehehe

Every time i visit this place, i just make sure that i get to order the spicy toro maki. 128076 128556 it's my favorite option of theirs. Eel is good as well. :)

We had our sunday lunch here, and occupied one of the vip rooms. No need to make reservations, but their only available if they're not occupied. (Obviously. My bad). So we had a very private meal, with no one beside us. It was a nice dining experience, gave us a very intimate setting which is what my family usually seeks. :)

Even though we were in a secluded room, service was still great. Staff was very attentive and we had our own buzzer to call them, so no need to stand up and wave. :) yeya.

That's it for now. Have a great week ahead and take care everyone. :)

I've heard so many things about their branches in Makati so when they decided to open one in Tomas Morato, I was eager to try it out.

I went here during the holiday go Chinese New Year and there was an ample amount of people dining. Nonetheless I was able to get my order pretty quickly.

In hindsight I should have taken a picture of my chirashi sushi but I was hungry and I was so excited to taste it that I completely forgot. The fish was fresh and delicious, each bite of fish went perfectly with the sushi rice which I couldn't get enough of. They gave me a good amount of sweet and creamy uni or maybe they just really put that much but I was very happy.

Their ebi tempura was rather ordinary but I found myself a bit disappointed by the spicy salmon sashimi. Whatever they put on it overpowered the wonderful flavor of salmon rather than complement it which is a shame but then maybe the kitchen was just off that day.

The prices were rather steep but then again you get what you pay for (except for the ebi tempura.)

I enjoyed the meal overall, the ambience and service was good and there are more dishes I'd like to try.
