I will admit that when it comes to curry, I rarely find a place that does it well. After all, Japanese curry has a certain appeal to it different from Indian curry or Thai curry or whatever other curry there is out there...but I had yet to find a place that I had liked for curry -- that is, until Izumi Curry.

My friends that I hadn't seen for a long time and I decided to go to Podium for dinner and a movie, and Izumi came highly recommended by one of them. Seeing as it was a place that had a dish I was hoping that I could find served well somewhere and it was somewhere new to try, I thought "why not?" and went with it.

My friend got the US Pork Katsu Curry with Egg while I got the Tofu Curry. For its price, I thought it was a little steep, but when we received the orders, I found how much it was worth the price. With free flowing refills of the curry sauce, you could pretty much have your fill of the hearty curry flavor that went well with any of the combinations found on the menu. With the hard tofu, it had a very comforting feeling with each bite I took, even if it made me reach for my glass of water and ask for a refill more than once during dinner. I honestly wished that I had gotten the egg to go with the tofu though, as I admit that the spice would've probably been balanced out better with a little scrambled egg in the mix.

Overall, the flavor balance was great, the size was definitely worth the price and I was left satisfied and with a smile on my face at the end of the meal. ^^

Would I go there again? Definitely. ^^

Best curry in the Metro! Beats even that famous Japanese chain. I loved when they asked, "you want more sauce?". "Ayyy yes!!".

Tried their pork katsu curry with omelette.
Although their serving is big, amount of curry sauce is a bit bitin :p
Level of spice is good but could have been better if we can adjust the spiciness according to our preference.
Overall experience is OK but definitely not my go-to whenever I crave for curry.

I can finally cross Izumi out of my must try list, 128076🏻 we ordered their mega steak curry, and chicken katsu curry, the curry was just right, though Timmy preferred more heat in his curry, there were no options to amp up the heat, like what I've read with other curry places, still yummy though, I'd think of this as my katsu fix when I don't have money for yabu128525 hehe

Found a new favorite!

I was really interested with Japanese restaurants opening in the metro serving curry.

I tried Izumi's Mega Beef Curry last week. The curry was different and delicious. The beef was hefty topped with cheese.

Filling!

The usual and "safe" lunch order: Gyudon! It was okay, but among all Japanese restos in Podium, I like Gyudon in Yaku's and Kimono Ken's.

Tried this place with an Indian friend, and I could say that their servings were generous and priced right! Their curry is spiced perfectly, too! Japanese rice? Yes!

My officemates wanted to try this resto. Not a fan of curry so I ordered their Gyudon. I liked their Gyudon. Generous beef toppings, they were tender. Their gyudon sauce was good too.

The place was reeking of curry smell (but of course!).
Service was fast and friendly.

They have two bestsellers:
#1 Curry Burger Steak
#2 Curry Tonkatsu.
If I had to choose only one, I highly recommend the burger steak - juicy and full of flavor. The curry sauce goes perfectly with the cheese. Izumi's servings are huge and that's always a good thing! I just wish they served unlimited rice refills though.

Full from Shi Lin merienda/early dinner with mama & 2 tita. My treat. We ordered Mango Crepe w/ Japanese Green Tea ice cream & Peach Crepe with Chocolate Ice Cream. Iced tea was good.

Weird tho, 2 staffs were taking a nap at the other table. 2nd shift? not sure. 3 tables were occupied around 5pm Wednesday.

Previous visit we ordered chicken katsu curry w/ rice was good, i also liked their gyoza. No idea if it's authentic but I enjoyed it. Second visit was meh.

Ordered the Pork Katsu Curry (P290), Guoza (P220), Megabeef Burger (P320) and Chicken Teriyaki (P320). No background can be heard and the dishes seem to rely on the curry sauce than the product itself. Staffs were accommodating though and gave advise that if your not a fan of spice the sauce can be segregated. Noting special but the place wasn't bad as well. An average pricy alternative for katsu/curry lovers out there who are in Podium.

Finally an authentic Japanese curry house in town! Loved the place. We had katsu curry and a soba curry and really felt like we were back in Japan. Specially since the Operations Manager Albert gave us the pickles that we are used to getting when having curry. Will surely be back! Hopefully they open a branch in Makati soon!

Wasn't able to visit at all. It was only 930pm, the mall and all of its stores were still open and the resto refused to serve us.
As soon as we almost walked into the resto they flipped over the open sign to CLOSED.
