THREE WORDS: CHOCOLATE DECADENT CAKE. Holy Moly! This cake is super chocolatey and rich. It's just chocolate on chocolate on chocolate. If that's not enough chocolate for you, the cake is drizzled with caramel and chocolate ganache. Chocolate overload at its finest!

Their signature Jack's Cheesecake is also out of the park! It's not overall sweet and has just the right taste of cream cheese. It's soft and smooth in texture, and the edges are nicely golden brown. It's also nice that you can customize your cheesecake topping. You can choose from these delicious fruit toppings: Mango, Strawberry, or Blueberry.

As for the sandwiches, I always go for their Philly Cheese Steak. The meat tasted fresh and was slivered so thin. The cheese wasn't overwhelming but soaked into everything so well. The onions were delicately caramelized and the French Baguette was firm but still soft, and held the mammoth of meat and cheese together to the very end.

I'll be back for some more decadent cakes and savory sandwiches. This place is highly recommended!

Cheers,
Mickey

First, I didn't eat here. I ordered to go as I had a class next door at Sip & Gogh, they were only serving cheese and crackers and I was starving. Luckily they allowed me to bring in food from other stores and I ordered my forever favourite Penne in Tomato Cream Sauce and asked them to make sure it was really spicy.

My dish arrived in a timely manner and was just as good as I remembered! It was hot, creamy, and almost too spicy but it was so so good! Really hit the spot!

Only negative is they forgot to include a fork (which I had asked for when I placed my order) but Sip & Gogh provided me with one.

No photo this time as I was too busy painting and eating.

I used to really like Jack's Loft! If you asked me back in high school, I probably would've put their beef stroganoff on my list of favorite dishes.

But alas, all good things must come to an end. It was okay, but it wasn't "holymoley good shiz" good anymore.

This branch is a sort of 2for1 combo thing with Pho Hoa so maybe that ruined it a bit for me too (see my review for Pho Hoa). Man, I remember when going to Jack's Loft in Eastwood was so cool. 128514

Actually ate at Pho Hoa (joint resto w/ Jack's loft).

I had the small beef stew. It was good! Really filling. On the menu it had a little chili icon beside it but it wasn't spicy at all.

There was a lot of meat and it was all really soft and easy to pull apart, even with chopsticks.

I usually go to Pho Hoa/Jack's Loft at Capitol Hills after class for some good old comfort food. For me, this place has never failed me, maybe except once (on obviously microwaved food).

Today I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich and Baked Potato Soup. Good combination. The soup was not too creamy, the bits of ham compensated for the french fry-ish flavor of the potato. The sandwich too was a good mix of cheese, pepper, onions, and beef slices. Simple and sumptuous.

My only complaint is that the bread was nothing remarkable. It didn't seem stale; it just wasn't fresh either. Sandwiches in my opinion, should be simple yet fresh. The Philly Cheese could have achieved this with much better bread.

Overall, though, my after-school snack was not bad. :)

Cool place to hang out when you're in Capitol hills.

Tried:
1. Mozarella cheese sticks - deep fried on the outside but cold on some inside part 128078
2. Gigantic home-made iced tea - 128077

Service:
Attentive staff!

My ultimate fave would be Beef Stroganoff 128077 I like most of the items on their menu except for their mozzarella sticks, it was rubbery and tasted weird.

The best place in the world... or rather near me to have chicken noodle soup and a giant bowl of iced tea!

After I hit the gym with friends we usually head to Green Street, as we usually call it, to merely regain our burnt calories away; it's just a 400 meter stretch from the sports club we go to and probably a kilometer from UP. I had to contact Looloo management to include the place. The place is sort of hidden, you see. I won't disclose to you what other restaurants and goodies are there for you here, so you have to hunt it down and see for yourself. Hehe

Anyway, just some trivia (if you have not known yet) is that it's a tie-in between two restaurants (Jack's Loft and Pho Hoa Vietnamese noodle house), so you are given two menus in the typical interior faces of Pho Hoa and/or Jack's loft that's decent and pretty inviting, not to mention cozy. Haha

On to the food... From Jack's Loft it's always always the FISHBOWL ICED TEA. I have a big loving threshold for ICED TEA and here it tastes like Raspberry SOLA, so I really can't get enough. I would recommend their pastas and sandwiches that may not be so unique, but are treats to the buds. Just last night I tried their cream of squash soup, and it was delish!!!

Oh how can I forget, PHO HOA NOODLE SOUPS ARE THE BEST!!! For whatever reason you want a chicken noodle soup; for a cold, for relaxation, or for a bad stomach (idk how this became an option, but okay haha)... It's always fresh, hot and tasty here!! Try out their Chicken Noodle Soup or the Beef Brisket Noodle Soup, if you don't want anything too wild yet, but they're always goodies for me.

I get excited when I go here all the time because the place holds good memories for me... Imagine good food, good friends, and good conversations. Plus it never gets crowded here. I think that's something that most people want nowadays. :) Enjoy!
