Actually, the whole city of Jaro was very antique. All of their architectures were made from wood, very pre-war designed. We all have felt nostalgic as we were lurking around Jaro, until we visited the Cathedral. It was very holy, and if I'm not mistaken, this was the place where Sen. Grace Poe was seen by Cardinal Sin. :)

Tourists should do a visita iglesia here if they'll visit Iloilo :)

This picture was taken when we had a performance at University of San Agustin and Nelly Garden last August 2014 :)

Jaro Metropolitan Cathedral also known as National Shrine of Our Lady of Candles. The religious image found at the top of the cathedral's facade said to be miraculous because it grows bigger and bigger according to my cousin.

Just across the Jaro Cathedral, you'd see the Campanario de Jaro (Jaro Cathedral Belfry). It said to be one of the few free standing bell towers in the country.

The church is closed by the time we went here but had a chance to offer a prayer to the miraculous image.

Owing to the rich and affluent families in this district of Iloilo, the majestic Jaro Cathedral shares its own story of mysticism. It is called the Masculine Church because saints lined up along the aisle are all men. The image of Our Lady of the Candles is said to grow bigger and bigger as the years pass by.
