My friend was craving for pad thai and since we came from a 5 hour bus ride from Zambales. This is the closest place I could think of. 128514

We ordered the following:
Fresh Vegetarian Spring roll (150PHp) for starters.
Squid with garlic, cilantro and pepper (250PHp) I liked this dish so I ordered a cup of rice 128514
Pad Thai shrimp (210PHp)

Jatujak

Just right after shift and after I changed my post paid plan, now for food. Today, that something we have not tried. "WE", with my wife. 128525

On Looloo, found Jatujak! Why not?! 128527

I got worried thou because there was a review about poor service. Made me hesitate, oh well, let's see.

So that's Jatujak! I've been passing by it the whole time. Looking at the menu, mmmmm.... sauted this, sauted that, with basil this, with basil that 128566.

Am I sounding where this is headed?! A bad review.

No that's not fair!

So why the tone?! Drops down to the service.

Hey, if that doesn't tick you, food is good! We had the Sea food with Basil and Sauted Chicken.

Quick and sweet, the food was cooked right, no complain, price was fair.

So the service; the lady taking our order seem in a hurry. So annoying. When we ordered, the first 3 dishes we really wanted were not available. There's my first impression experience.

Food could have been better and my review, but you lost me on hello 128532.

FOOD: We were looking for some place we haven't tried before when we saw this Thai restau at The Block. And when i opened the menu and saw the Pad Thai i know i gotta have it. 128512 i haven't tried Pad Thai before. We ordered Shrimp Pad Thai. The taste was just OK. It was nothing special but i it was something i would eat again. I like flat noodles and the peanuts mixed with it gives a different texture when chewing. 128076 It only has 3 pieces of shrimps which is a bit disappointing. 128078
My boyfriend wanted to eat rice so we ordered Beef with Basil (medyo waley ung name, un na ba talaga un?) with Jasmine Rice. It was a bit sweet and the beef was a bit hard to chew but the bf says he likes it.

STAFF/SERVICE: Servers are friendly enough but they are noisy sometimes. The place is not that big so you'll gonna hear everything they're talking about. Haha.

Price: The Pad Thai has a reasonable price (P210 for sharing). We were informed that the Beef with Basil (P255) is for sharing too but oh boy, if you're really hungry, it will not be enough for u! Jasmine Rice is P40.

Fried Spring Rolls (Pork)
-i liked it but nothing's special

Red Curry Chicken
-just fine. Tastes like an ordinary Thai Curry but it's too sweet for me.

Bagoong Rice
-the taste is better than other bagoong rice i've tasted. I enjoyed mixing the rice together with julilenne-cut green mangoes, shallots, scrambled eggs strips and pork. Lurve it!

Sticky Rice with Ripe Mango
-was expecting much from this since i've tasted My Thai's Khao Niaw Ma Muang which has sweet coconut milk on the side and vanilla ice cream on top and which is really heaven. But Jatujak's is like a suman na may matamis na sauce lang.

Our go-to Thai restaurant. Love their curry, be it chicken/beef, red/green. We always request that they make their curry extra spicy (yes you can tell them if you want it mild, moderately spicy, or extra spicy). Affordable, delicious food, and good service - i think this place is very underrated.

It's always jampacked every weekends but glad that there were tables available. I was totally craving for it, Chicken Sate and Green Curry immediately came to mind.

Even with small space they occupy, the feel inside the resto is always festive with loyal patrons filling it up, enjoying their stay because of the quality of the dishes they serve.

Green Curry Chicken (Php 225)
Green Curry Chicken was really good. It was very tasty and flavourful, and yes it is comparable to Soms Authentic Chicken Curry.

Bagoong Rice (Php 160)
Their bagoong actually taste a bit sweet and salty (of course). Also, I must commend the large chunks of sweetened pork, large slices of dried mangoes, scrambled eggs and onions on the side. Actually, this can be a dish itself.

Sate Chicken (Php 180)
I'm not a big fan of satay but occasionally I would find myself enjoying a stick or two of these just as long as they’re really really good.

Thai Iced Tea (Php 85)
As for the drink, the Iced Tea was delicious and refreshing. It have creamy and sweet taste, plus! It served in a tall glass, enough for two (2) people.

Every food we picked brings a balance taste of sweet, salty and spicy. It intensely burst out in to our taste buds. There's still a lot to try in their menu, we would definitely go back to Jatujak. 128516

The Pad Thai here is great! Your craving for it will be satisfied. Plus, they have Thai Tea! Something I always had back in CA before moving here.

Order the shrimp cakes too!

I'm back for the nth time and i still love this place from day 1!

This time we tried the roasted duck curry and their fresh vegetarian roll. Finished all of it with gusto!:) the curry had the right spice And hot from the stove :) my mom love the roll and ate 4 out of 6 pieces. And we ended our late lunch with their thai iced tea which is soooo yummy! Iced until the last drop :)

Price was right. Friendly staff. Place is clean and cozy. No restroom though, you have to go to the mall's common cr.

First time to dine in a Thai resto in Manila, I must say t'was a good experience. Their tom yum goong was great. I like tom yum cause it's like their version of our own "Sinigang". The only thing I wasn't satisfied was the servings. The tom yum goong have only 3pcs of shrimp which I think wasn't enough. Lol. Overall, its still great. Must-try for Thai food lovers. 128522

The food was good. I ordered their Pad Thai and theirs wasn't too sweet, which I liked. They also did not scrimp on toppings.

I hated service though. It was hard to get their attention and when we did, they were condescending. Well one of them was. I found my lemongrass iced tea too sweet and asked if they could do anything about it. And he simply replied matter-of-factly, matamis talaga yan. I had to repeat my request before he took it. When it came back, it was still sweet.

The good food does not make up for the crappy service we received. Parang utang na loob pa namin na inasikaso kami. Hay naku.

My family loves spicy foods ('coz we came from the land of Bicol) and Jatujak offers variety of spicy foods in their menu. That is the reason why we love this small resto located in SM North Edsa The Block.
One of the best soups for me is their own Tom Yum soups that also have a pinch of spice and are served with a candle underneath its bowl (cute, eh?) I strongly recommend that you try their Kaeng nua or red curry beef, for it was always included in our list of orders whenever we visit the place. Green curry chicken and roasted duck curry were also good. Kaprao nua or beef with basil is usually my sister's choice but i still prefer curry than this. :))
Regarding their bittersweet Thai Iced tea, it is kinda big enough for me so I usually end up consuming only half to 3/4 of it.
I havent tried their water chestnuts because I'm afraid. (Paranoid lang, blame Parasitology!!!) haha!
