Jatujak is one of the restaurants we frequent in SM San Lazaro before. But ever since I started to write food reviews, I tried to explore more outside the usual restaurants, so it has been a while since I ate here.

It has been a couple of months since I met up with two of my HS best friends, M and C. Initially, we planned to meet up at the ultimate tita hangout place -- Café Mary Grace. Later on, we decided on Jatujak, since both of them haven't tried it here yet. The arrived before me, since I came all the way from work. When I arrived they have already gotten their Thai Milk Tea, so we proceeded to order the following:

✅ TOM YUM GOONG (Php 258) - 11088110881108811088
I have always enjoyed their Tom Yum. There were 6 pcs of shrimps in an order of this, which is actually just right for 3 people. The soup had the right blend of flavors coming from the herbs and spices used. I hoped it was a bit spicier than it is though.

✅ RED CURRY BEEF (Php 295) - 110881108811088
I have tried their green curry before, and I can say that among the two, the red curry is more flavorful and really does pack a punch. The coconut milk does its job of cutting through the spice of the red curry paste, and balanced well with the tender beef brisket pieces. Though, there was a slight gamey smell / taste with their beef. 128533

✅ CHICKEN PAD THAI (Php 220) - 1108811088
I used to love their Pad Thai, but it just keeps on becoming worse with every visit. 128148 This time, the noodles used were too sticky and overcooked, and the strips of chicken were quite tough. Serving size was good, but I hope they could also improve the quality. 128533

The restaurant was surprisingly empty for a dinner time. I guess SM San Lazaro probably isn't the best market for Thai food... Service was so-so, and food was just okay. In comparison to the food and service I enjoyed in this branch a year or two ago, it was actually better then than now.

So glad this restaurant opened in SM San Lazaro. Finally my favorite thai restaurant a little closer to home. :)

Love their Fried Spring Rolls, Bagoong rice is a must try! Their seafood tom yum soup tastes so delicious! :)

Been meaning to try this resto for so long as I can remember. Im happy now that it is in my backyard finally, no more reason not to try this.

Although not in the Looloo list of Top 10 Thai restos in the metro, I thought this must be a good resto to have Thai food judging from the always filled up capacity in any of their branches.

True enough their menu is extensive almost difficult to choose what to eat. Settled for my favorites like grilled pork belly, red curry chicken (128536), chicken pandan, satay chicken and squid cilantro. I liked them all. The spice level was rather tamed even in the red curry sauce but nevertheless, I had a tummy filling and delicious dinner.
