What happens when you 127849pen a b127849x 127849f happiness? Smiles all around! Thats what happened when my co-worker took out 2 boxes of J.Co for the team on her birthday. Masmasaya talaga pag libre haha! But kidding aside, these donuts tasted seriously good. Not sure if its because it was free 128517, but nevertheless, i enjoyed each of the flavors i was able to get my hands on. I had 3 in all, and the matcha flavored one was my favorite (biased much?). Thick, creamy, matcha goodness layered on top of a warm soft donut. I could not ask for more... But that didnt stop me from taking more 128540 i also had a white and milk chocolate creme donut and one that had white chocolate and coconut on top. Good, good stuff! 128076

I remember when J.Co made a huge fuzz all over the place. Long lines just for a dozen or two of doughnuts. But now, somehow the trend has subsided and so is their size. I'm pretty sad that the sizes are smaller now compare to how it was when it was first launched here. I personally like Why Nut, Tiramisu and J.Cocinno. J.pops are cute bite size alternative too. Their prices will still make you buy 2 dozens at once. And well, I'd say their Cafe Avocado is still my favorite drink in this place.

Chapter Two.   J. CO came,  saw and conquered

J. CO Donuts & Coffee is a cafe restaurant chain in Indonesia specializing in donuts, coffee and frozen yogurt.   Everyone knows this popular donut brand,  you probably spent x number of hours in line during the height of their popularity.

Let's get this out of the way - J. Co is has the prettiest donut in the market.  Each donut exudes the "Screw diet,  have a donut"  look.  Aesthetics aside,  their donut creations has the wittiest names.  Some of which use wordplay and eponyms.  Case in point,  Alcapone - named after the infamous mobster and is the inspiration of The King of Pop's catchy tune Smooth Criminal.  The name is brilliant,  Al is one of their bestsellers and the real Al is a most wanted criminal back in the day.  Noteable  examples  include  Blue Berrymore,  Avocado Di Caprio and Green Tease.

As for the taste,  this donut delivers.  Some of their flavors are suited for individuals born without the sweet tooth.  The pastry is soft,  the flavor combinations is on point and will not induce sugar shock.

J. Co is the trifecta of the ideal donut.  Aesthetically appealing,  catchy names and big on taste.

***Wordplay is a literary technique and a form of wit in which the words that are used become the main subject of the work, primarily for the purpose of intended effect or amusement.

J.Co Donuts was established in Indonesia in 2005 and now it has branches in four other countries, China, Malaysia, Singapore, and now The Philippines. Since the opening of its first branch in Megamall, J.Co has created a hype that does not seem to die down. So far I have been to three J.Co branches, all of them were always cramming with people, so much so that they always run out of doughnuts and the queue is so long, it goes beyond the store's vicinity.

Once you get a taste of J.Co doughnuts you will know why people are so willing to wait in line. Since the doughnuts sell like hotcakes, the crew are always baking new ones, so you are sure to enjoy freshly made, soft, and delicious doughnuts.

As you can see, the doughnuts are not exactly cheap but I assure you they are worth every cent. Say you want to taste different flavors (I'm telling you there are so many to choose from) for less, I suggest you try their baby doughnuts called J. Pops. It's a box of 24 pieces, small doughnuts worth PHP230.

My personal favorites are Al Capone, Oreology, and Mona Pisa. Al Capone is topped with white Belgian chocolate and almonds. It reminds me of this Chewy Junior's cream puff flavor called, almond sweetheart. Oreology on the other hand is topped with crumbs of Oreo cookies, it is the sweetest flavor that I like. Mona Pisa is actually a doughnut pizza, sounds weird? Don't knock it til you try it.

Aside from the doughnuts, you can also enjoy their coffee, yogurt, and juice. J. Co has a separate counter for their drinks. When my friends and I went to J. Co last time, we were offered a free taste of their Chocomint Frappe (PHP135/PHP150). I have always found a chocolate -mint combo an abomination but this I gotta say, tasted real good. There was just a hint of mint so it did not overpower the chocolate flavor. It was real refreshing and quite pleasing to the taste.

J. Co doughnuts are not too sweet, still they are quite flavorful, which is probably the reason people don't get tired of it and always come back for more.

During the hype of J.Co, my boyfriend bought me a box of J.Co and what caught me is their Alcapone which is unique and so creamy in taste and what I also like is their Green Tease and Mr. Green Tea. These were my three favorite flavors in J.Co. I also tried their Chocolate Frappe which was also good and creamy. I became addicted to J.Co and sometimes if I want to chill with a friend, we always go here.

But lately, I bought J.Co in Greenbelt, suprsingly I became so disappointed to it. It seems like their donuts became smaller, their dough wasn't good anymore and the taste became different as well as the texture. I thought maybe it just depends on their branches. So, I tried once again in Eastwood (where I usually go) and I wasn't wrong, it really became different. By that time I never bought J.Co again.

Unlike in Krispy Kreme or even Dunkin' Donut, it never changed the taste, texture and size. So whenever I crave for donuts, I still go for Krispy Kreme or Dunkin' Donut.

Got the iced chocolate drink, i forgot what's the name on the menu. Sorry 128532

The drink tasted okay like chuckie but it was not cold. By iced, do they mean they just put ice in to make it cold? Or shouldn't the drink be cold and then they add ice.

Complimentary glazed donut when you buy any drink. Soft and airy but duhh, it's free. 128513

Please, just make it cold then add ice.

I went here to kill time while waiting for my friends. I ordered the oreo doughnut and thai iced tea. I didn't know that their drinks come with a plain doughtnut, which is a good thing though.

The ambiance is great however their air conditioning unit was too warm. The place itself also has a strong wifi connection which makes it a good spot to kill some time.

Pasalubong ng bayan sa province kapag feeling rich. My mom doesn't like it because she says it's too sweet and she hated me for buying this as pasalubong. Waste of money daw, but my kiddo cousins loved the doughnuts. 128522

After the Kate Spade New York afternoon tea with mom Elaine P and my daughter Adelheid L last Saturdat at Raffles Fairmont Hotel in Makati we went to Landmark for some grocery shopping then last stop before going home is at J.Co127849127849127849127849127849
Went here to buy pasalubong for hubby and son Latrell Joshua L.

It was full when we get there and of course need to fall in line . Ordered two dozen donuts and they ran out of alcapone!!! Every time mom and I go here they ran out of alcapone , alcapone shortage ! The cashier told me to wait 20 minutes. It's getting dark and it's raining very hard and I have to wait for the alcapone but glad I tried to check every now and then and it's not 20 minutes , I just waited 10 minutes and the crews there were nice , feeling relieved 128522
