Thanks to foodie, Mary Love Siy, I got to satisfy my pizza and pasta cravings last week. She invited me and other bloggers for a feast, a closer look into Joey Pepperoni’s revamp menu. The change was geared towards capturing a sophisticated market of Italian cuisine lovers.

Choices of where to eat abound wherever we go, how does a vintage brand like Joey Pepperoni keep itself above the competition? On this sponsored trip, I realized they so have a strong fighting chance.

I started this gastronomic endeavor with a request from Mary, by saying, I need a bowl of salad. I got their House Salad, to stir my appetite. It is a simple bowl of colorful fresh veggies with well stirred sweet balsamic dressing.

Our next starter, Pepperoni Fries arrived hot on sizzling plate. This novel piece could be a kid’s favorite. It has fries, lots of pepperoni meat and generous cheese. It was slightly better than Mozza Bites, another appetizer we ordered.

For their signature Pizza, we got four unique kinds including Nutella pizza for a last filling sweet stop. My favorite was Bianca, a three cheese ensemble of mozzarella, white cheese and aged blue cheese. It had nice contrasting tastes just from its cheeses. It was even made better with its other toppings of salty anchovies, slightly bitter arugula and for a kick, spiced up, garlic. We also got classic Pepperoni and Joey’s Supreme, a pizza with a myriad of all sorts in one pan.

Surprisingly Pesto Pasta made the most impression for me. I am a sucker for basil and I was not expecting theirs to be that delicious. It had bountiful pesto sauce and parmesan cheese.

Another pasta worth checking out would be their Chicken Parmigiana. It uses capellini pasta poured with rich tomato sauce, mixed with basil, mushroom and even more juicy tomatoes. Topping this would be crispy chicken covered with cheese all over it. It’s also picture worthy!

For a final dish before I gave up and raised my white flag, I tried a speck of their Roasted Rosemary Chicken. This was a bit of a let down for it was slightly bland. The meat however had a nice lingering after taste, thanks to its fresh herbs.

Are you ready to come back and give them a whip again? I suggest taking a trip to Pioneer and get your palates ready for a more interesting Italian vibe here.

Joey Pepperoni is no stranger to me as I've worked with Kettle Foods Corporation before and handled this pizzeria for a short while. I still remember going crazy over its delectable pesto pasta and how I make sure I dine there for lunch every payday. And years and other pesto dishes later, Joey Pepperoni's version still delights my taste buds.

Hello, Joey Pepperoni.

This local pizzeria rebranded a few months ago and added new product offerings. Shifting to brick oven also changed how Joey Pepperoni makes its pizza. Now with a puffier and thicker crust, it made carb lovers twirl with happiness.

During our visit, we feasted on Pepperoni Fries (PHP170), Mozzarella Bites (PHP195), Joey's Supreme (PHP210, 8" | PHP440, 12"), Bianca (PHP195, 8" | PHP390, 12"), Meaty Legend (PHP210, 8" | PHP450, 12"), Rosemary Chicken (PHP240), Chicken Parmigiana (PHP235), Pesto Pasta (PHP165), Banana Nutella Pizza (PHP140).

The Pepperoni Fries were so good! It was so cheesy and the pepperoni slices added that delightful meaty flavor to the dish.

I could have finished the whole dish if only there were not a lot of dishes for us to try and if I was not competing with other foodies who fell head over tummies with this smacktacular dish.

The Mozzarella Bites were good too. The batter was crunchy and the mozzarella inside was soft and gooey. The dish was well complemented by the marinara sauce it came with.

It was no surprise for the pesto pasta to be a hit during our meal. Everyone liked the herby taste of the green pasta.

But if you want something heavier, you might want to go with chicken parmigiana which comes with a huge slab of breaded chicken fillet topped with cheese. It may be a bit too tangy for those who are used to sweet red sauce. But it would surely delight anyone who prefer the Italian version.

For the pizzas, everyone liked Bianca the best. The blend of mozzarella, white cheese, and bleu cheese with anchovies, garlic and arugula made this pizza a winner! It was flavorful yet not overwhelming. And the fact that it was topped with arugula made me feel that I was eating something healthy.

Joey's Supreme was pretty good as well. Its generous serving of mozzarella cheese, cheddar, pepperoni, bacon strips, mushroom, green and red bell pepper, onions and black olives made this dish value for money. Two slices of this could be enough to fill you up.

Meat lovers would enjoy Meaty Legend as it is topped with pepperoni, Italian sausage, bacon strips, and of course, mozzarella cheese. This is perfect for those who avoid greens.

I also liked the beautifully grilled and baked rosemary chicken. It had a lovely garlicky and tangy taste which was well complemented by rosemary. I wouldn't mind having this for lunch for days!

The Banana Nutella Pizza was quite hard to slice. But I guess it was made like that for you to avoid sharing it with others. I wouldn't mind finishing one whole of this as it was so good! The chewy crust topped with banana, cinnamon and Nutella was bliss.

Overall, it was a lovely meal. I'd definitely swing by again for Bianca, Rosemary Chicken, Pepperoni Fries and my all time favorite, Pesto Pasta.

Having lunch here now. Maiale con Riso. Grilled pork chop basted with their own blend of spicy barbeque sauce. Comes with free iced tea already.
Been here a coupe of times. My other favorites are the Aglio Olio set meal that comes with chicken wings, and of course their Pepperoni Pizza.

Rosemary chicken needed the lemon to counteract the saltiness, but pizza and fries were nice. Worth a second trip.

Service was nice, the waiters were courteous.

We ordered carbonara and pepperoni pizza. The carbonara was rather dry but the pizza proved they weren't called joey pepperoni for nothing.

Loved their rosemary chicken plate and their beef and mushroom pizza. I always loved their bolognese pasta but opted to order chicken parmagiana instead. It was good enough. No wow moment there. CS was great; very enthusiast manager (he even bid us 'God Bless' as we headed out), he served us the entire time. 128077128079128536
