One of the fave Asian resto here at Resorts World. This is our go to place kapag maaga pa para mag check in sa airport, or kapag may sinusundo kami, or kapag may ihahatid kami, or kapag trip lang mag RW. Haha 9996 Kasi katapat lang ng NAIA diba. Yun, dito kami lagi na parang walang ibang resto sa RW. Hahaha

Enough of the chitchat. Anyway, We love the food here because it's light sa stomach pero you'll get full naman na you won't feel bloated. :)

We ordered...

1stpic
Mixed Seafood Crispy Noodles (355 php) - this is my fave. yung pancit canton na kuhang kuha nya yung taste na i've always wanted sa canton. ito yun eh! hehe

2nd pic
Scallop Dumpling (195 php / 3pcs) - i think we ordered this kasi curious kami bakit green. haha. yes, it's pricey. madami nakong makakain na master siomai sa 195 na yan. hahaha.

3rd pic
Seafood Siomai (173 php / 4pcs) - mom love's this. naka tatlo yata siya. hahaha

4th pic

Birthday noodles (385 php) - this one is the mas sosyal na version nung Seafood Noodles, kasi may BBQ Pork at Lechon Macau siyang kasama.

Har Gao or the so called "Hakaw" (195 php / 3 pcs) - this is my fave dimsum of all time. kahit hindi dito sa johnny chow eh basta hakaw, favorite ko. it's pricey yes, but it's my fave sooooo... eat! 128514

---
You would say that everything is pricey.
But it's okay... it's YUMMY. 128149128076
---

Minus one star because of the service. Sa dami naming beses na kumain dito, at kilala na kami, di padin sila maserbisyo sa customers nila. Kahit lagi na naming sinasabi. Haaaaay. 128078128542

I was served raw lemon chicken. When I told the server, she apologized and took it back, only to serve it microwaved!!! Seriously? It was so limp and soggy! Napa- "What is this?!" ako sa kanya. Lemon chicken is so good when it's crisp and tangy. When I talked to her about my disappointment, she said she'll give me free dessert... Wait for it... When I come back @&*# %! As in, she paused talaga and pahabol yung "on your next visit". Talk about adding insult to injury.

I had her remove the chicken from the bill, I ain't paying for a lousy plate of food. I didn't eat it nor take it home, in case any of you are wondering. I'm never going back here. Never. Ever. Ever. This was awhile back. I didn't want to make a bad review then but every time I pass by their restaurant I am always reminded of that the purple haired girl who had the nerve to microwave my food and "offer" me free dessert.

Johnny Chow

My New York-based friends were here last month and as usual, I had to fulfill my duty as their personal tour director. This role is reversed whenever I go to New York.

Their idea of "tour" is gastronomic: eating and drinking. We went to Resorts World since they wanted to see Mitoy - the first winner/champion of The Voice PH. Since we were there early, they said they want to have an early dinner first. They specifically wanted to eat pancit canton in a Chinese restaurant. So First stop was Johnny Chow. They preferred this over Tay Yuan, another Chinese Resto, because they were attracted to the girls/server/crew in different hair colors (wig).

We ordered Hot and Sour Soup, Chicken Feet, Hakaw, Polonchay with Garlic, Lechon Macau, and of course, Pancit Canton (Mixed Seafood Crispy Noodle in their menu). We also ordered some rice to go with the Lechon Macau. Dessert was Mango Sago. These are the food that these “now American but still has pinoy tastes and values” crave. Sure there are a lot of Chinese Resto in the New York, but the ones here in Asian countries suit our Asian tastes better.

The Lechon Macau was a winner! The skin was crisp, the meat was tender yet firm, and the taste was superb. This is the best seller of all time.

Another winner is their hot and sour soup- it was steaming hot, and at the same time spicy hot. The resto was cold but we were all perspiring as we sip this really “hot” soup. It was a good introduction to the dishes that were about to be served.

Needless to say, the dimsum were great.

The Pancit Canton did not disappoint us - It was exactly what we expected it to be. The noodles are firm and not sagging, and the seafood toppings were fresh.

The Polonchay with Garlic? Well, we just ordered it to balance the food; meaning to at least have a semblance of “eating healthy” because we have veggies on the table! LOL! But it was good; just not extraordinary.

It was a good dining experience, except for one thing: poor customer service! The servers were outside chatting at each other and did not notice the customers waving at them. They were slow and did not care about the customers. The OJTs were left on their own, confused and didn't know what to do. If not for the food, I will never go back to this restaurant.

Johnny Chow has this wierd (but in a good way) and funny sounding menu. Made me laugh while we are skimming through them. Chinese resto with a different vibe lol128526.

*Mr Chang Beef Broccolli - at 600. This is like the usual braised beef with broccolli in North Park. I cant explain this more because every chinese resto has this in their menu.

*Maggie Woo - at 365. Lechon macau with pineapple fritters. The Lechon macau was good and crispy, yet very fatty (i scraped out the fat just to make sure it's safe to eat lol128526.) the pineapple fritters though was perfect. I asked the server if they have a single serving of this side dish, however it's only a side dish. It was good. Pineapple covered with breadings. I must say if they have a menu of this sort ill order dozens of them128060.

*Johnny Chow Fried Rice - at 260. Yes i know, this is like yang chow fried rice lol128526.

Johnny Chow made their menu sounds funny. Maybe because they dont want the people to notice that they are serving the same old chinese recipe like any other chinese resto is having. They made me laugh though, i give them credit for that128060.

Had a special type of dumpling -- one made with duck and foie gras. It tasted really good, perhaps even better than the prawn version. They were really pricey, however, but if you are after exotic dumplings, these are worth a try.

We ordered the following:
Assorted dimsums - siopao, siomai, xiao long bao, hakao, chicken feet - nothing exceptional;
Bruce Lee Beef - nice & tender;
Crispy Noodles - okay;
Salted Egg Shrimps, Salted Egg Squid - biggest disappointments, these two dishes tasted the same -- MSG-ish, and there's this orangey powder on the shrimps & squid that tasted somewhat like the artificial cheese powder you get from the famous potato kiosk, too salty.

I had dinner here with extended family, and as we were a big group we ordered several items to share. The mains were pretty much ordinary; I thought they were a bit meh especially considering the price.

The only one worth mentioning is the dessert: try the mango torte. It's like mango jubilee: graham crust, mango bits and frozen cream. 128077

If you love asian cuisine and huge serving this is the place for you. It is located in resorts world so the first thing that came to my mind is the price but i was surprised because it's really affordable. Each of their dishes are for 2-3 persons ranging around 250php-350php. Their food is truly something that you will definitely remember. I will recommend this chain to anyone that goes to RW manila.

This fun Asian fusion restaurant is a new favorite in my list! 10084️ Their fun take on the traditional Asian cuisine is not to be missed. We had these yummy Yang Chow Fried Rice with Pork BBQ (P310), which is good for two. I actually spotted the Kimchi Fried Rice (P380) but had to let it go because I cant finish it on my own. Haha. Their Lemon Chicken aptly called Nancy Kwan (P250+) is also a winner. Of course, I cannot leave an Asian restaurant with trying their version of the hakaw (P195) and I was not disappointed.

Servers are attentive and ambiance is pretty much what it's trying to market itself -- fun and hip and Asian.

All in all, I loved this place and will recommend of to anyone in the Resorts World area looking for something new to try. 128077

I went to Resorts World for imagine, just the second time in my life and was just so amazed with the feel of the whole mall. I never knew it was so pretty and classy there; it had a very European feel.128076 Anyway, since it was just my second time there, I did not know which restaurants were good so I just chose to eat somewhere new - Johnny Chow.

From the outside, Johnny Chow seems to be an overpriced Chinese restaurant that has been running for quite a while. However, when I looked at the menu, their food items ended up being reasonably priced afterall. We were four people on the table and considering the really yummy food that we ate (2 dimsums, 1 large fried rice, lemon chicken, salted egg prawns), paying P400 per head seems fair enough. Yes, I have to say that when it comes to taste, hands down, their food was the bomb.

I changed my mind on how the food was priced but I still believe that the place has been running for a while. The only reason why I'm ranking it 4 stars is because I think the place needs remodeling. My dad once told me that restaurants need to be remodeled every 5 years or so and I think Johnny Chow already fits in this category. After cooking in a place for some time, the place gets this "dirty" feel to it even if it's not dirty at all. I guess you could say it was a teeny bit more rundown than what I wanted.

This restaurant really struck me as the ones found in the States - the restaurant you order Chinese takeout from and really, when I saw the bill, it was confirmation. Johnny Chow's food can actually be delivered by twoanyone delivery (212-1212).

What do you want today? Chinese? Order in and experience Johnny Chow's amazinggg Chinese food. 100849786

It's reasonably priced considering it's location. I thought their dishes would be oriental fusion. But it was plain old dimsum. Nothing out of the box. But fortunately the food was good. Try the Hong Kong Sunset dumplings and the Asado Lechon Macao plate. Best served with Salted Fish Fried Rice.

For coffee lovers out there, this is for you!!! 128561Last weekend, Resorts World Manila created a event with a theme Coffee Creations. Different kinds of coffee can be found, coffee arts, coffee flavored dishes and lots more! 128561

You can see the detailed review on my blog (tetadventurer.blogspot.com) Okay, I'm not here to promote my blog. 128514 During the event we were offered with different Coffee Flavored dishes (These dishes are limited edition only from July 28 - August 10. Make sure to try these dishes before it runs out!)

Johnny Chow offered us with Johnny Chow's Coffee Pork Spareribs with Tapioca - I was surprised to see this one on the table. I never thought that coffee can be mixed with a pork, and it actually worked! Soft and tender pork spareribs smothered with coffee infused sauce. It was served with mantou bread where you can use to finish off the sauce. 128525128525128525

Grade-A asado! Their yang chow fried rice and the dimsums are super sarap as well and the interiors are very modern and trendy.
Their staff's uniforms kind of remind me of john and yoko's (with the contemporary japanese flair going), but the crowd-drawer would be the authentic chinese food 128076128076128076
