This had been our favorite place when we visited Cagayan De Oro. Aside from wide variety of Filipino dishes its just few walks from the hotel through their reliable walkway.

Kagay-anon was highly recomended as it serves exotic meat like ostrich and crocs. On our first dinner, I tried Ostrich salpicao. I wouldn't know that its an ostrich meat as it tasted exactly like beef. But this one extra tender. I also enjoyed their kinilaw, lato (seaweeds), inihaw tuna pangaand the best bake scallops with cheese (my new favorite!)

Before we left, we had lunch at Kagay-Anon once again. We had buho (mixed seafood in coconut, served in a bamboo container) .. Love the soup that is served hot . Something good to try

I highly recommending this place when in CDO, food is good and surprisingly affordable.

Delicious BabyBacks! If you go to Cagayan de Oro this restaurant is a staple. If you're a local of this City you must have tried this more than once in your entire residency in Cagayan whether or not you live at the outskirts or interior of the City; Before the sprout of contemporary restaurants that now cater Kagayanon random tastes buds all happy hungry tummy find their lead here. Albeit, the booming lifestyle district of the City has now changed rapidly and food industry is up for the competition I do hope they retain this restaurant for old times sake. It's not usual to go home and find a familiar place where everything is just seem to be the way it was.

After an hour of looking for Kayla's Bistro, Candy's etc, na realize namin na wala na palang natira sa restaurants near limketkai :( Super saaad!

Anyway, Kagayanon is one of the remaining good restaurants in limketkai after the bombing last year. Enjoyed their sinuglaw and gambas with aligue sauce! Super sarap and daming serving, each dish is actually good for 3-4 ( e dalawa lang kami so super busog!) They place is mala-high end or posh and they serve the dishes in a wooden bowl na cute tingnan! Suprisingly, very affordable ang prices :) service din was great. Attentive staff and we just waited for a couple of minutes before our orders were served 128077

ostrich tapa was very tender. Pinakbet was the best I've tasted so far here in cdo. Both recommendable!

It's a typical Filipino restaurant serving typical filipino dishes. CDO isn't really known for any particular dish or delicacy. But they say CDO's kinilaw is probably one of the best. So I tried it out and it was alright. Nothing really special. Their soup and crispy pata tasted different but still good. I like how they presented the food and I like the overall feel of the place! Kinda costly though.

I always love trying the local restos whenever I'm out of town so for our first night in CDO, we tried the famous kagay-anon restaurant. It was just a 5min walk from our hotel, yay!
Their specialty was ostrich so obvs, adventurous hubby tried the ostrich steak. According to him, it looks like beef but tastes like chicken. Very tender and no aftertaste. I didn't try any 128513
We also got the crispy shrimp (super good), mango ensalada, lechon kawali and adobong kangkong. We also tried the crab fat rice and shanghai rice.
Food was good, I understand why it would be hailed as one of the best in CDO. Service was just a bit slow IMO.

CDO is pretty much like Metro Manila - lot of good foreign cuisines operated and owned by locals. If what you are looking for is excellent Filipino food, this is THE place to be.

The best restaurant in CDO in my book! Highly-recommended! Grilled Prawns, Scallops, Ostrich Salpicao, and the best PINAKBET ever!!!
