The best time to visit is lunchtime. You must try their "pritong dalag". They will get your orders and that is the only time they will catch your picks in their mini fish pond so you are sure of fresh, crispy and delicious fried fish! Another variation of their dalag is "pesa" (on pic) , but you should never miss their "sinigang na kanduli sa miso" too! Ask for balaw-balaw to match your sinigang and they will gladly serve you a small bowl of it. My kids love their "bulalo" too and their home- made version of "ginatang hipon". I always order " pritong hito" because i like the way they fry it... crispy up to the bones! And to quench your thirst, they have fresh buco either by single serving or by pitcher. You shouldn't miss this restaurant when you're travelling to Rizal!

Went here during our Visita / Bisita (?) Iglesia last Thursday, wherein we went to visit churches around Marikina and Rizal. This restaurant was our 2nd to the last stop before going home. We started pretty early that morning, so we thought we would be able to get home a little after lunch. We thought, hey, nothing wrong with having lunch first before our last church!

Boy, were we wrong.

We arrived here a little past 12:30. It was understandably busy, since a lot of people were in the area to visit churches. Even if there were a lot of people, there were still a lot of empty tables; the people inside the restaurant were groups that had a minimum of 6 members. We were 8 in our group, and we were probably one of the smallest groups there.

We just came from 6 churches, it was hot that day, and we were all really FAMISHED. Saw some reviews on looloo that the food here is really good, so I was VERY excited to eat.

We ordered inihaw na liempo, crispy pla pla, ginataang sugpo, another shrimp dish with garlic and chili pepper, sinigang, hito and adobong kangkong.

Our orders came ONE HOUR after. We started eating at past 1:30 pm already, it was horrible! We were all grumpy from hunger. To be fair, the food was really delicious, and they gave us the adobong kangkong free of charge because it was the last one to arrive, but...a 1 hour wait for food??? 128078

I guess it wasn't ready for the influx of visitors that day. They didn't exactly have an industrial sized kitchen; I peeked and saw that their kitchen was just like a regular kitchen at home. Lutong Bahay talaga!

I guess it is best to go here on regular days. But since it is so far from where I live, I don't think I will be back any time soon. Definitely not on Holy Thursdays.
