Wifey and I decided to try karada after seeing reviews from looloo. We both suffer from some minor form of back pains or stiff neck.
The place is small, clean and the attendants are very knowledgable and friendly. You will fill up a form with your information and your problems. After, they will stretch you, align your pelvic, and do corrective measures to address your body problem. Overall, I think Karada is good for us.. But since the treatment room is common, it can get too noisy to be able to relax. We'll be back!

Had the AP+BT treatment today at the Glorietta branch (maybe Looloo could add this place?) for 90 minutes. It was not a relaxing place to go but you do feel the relief after the session. The mechanical bed was a little freaky and the neck cracking + stretching will force you to stay calm unless you wanna risk hurting yourself. Was glad to learn that they offer a 20% discount for early birds on weekdays so will definitely check that out. Worth the money!

I went to the one in Legaspi Village, and I must say...not bad! It's a bit pricey, but I think tama naman ang sinabi ng therapist: in spas, the therapists do the skin, while places like Karada go deep into the muscles. I had my pelvic bones aligned. Do I feel a sense of balance? Yeah, I guess. I feel really great, compared to the lamog feeling one normally gets after a session at a spa. Love the fact that I can now bend without my lower back hurting. Effective! Highly recommended if you've had chronic back pain (and hindi kaya ng ilang session sa spa or neighborhood masahista). Even if I'm a sucker for luxury spas, I like this kind of treatment, because the therapists seem to know their stuff. And from the looks of it, I'm now more "balanced."

Scoliosis + sitting in the office all day =consistent back pain. Karada is a more than your typical shiatsu massage. The therapists make sure they address and focus on key areas that are stiff, strained and painful.

Went here a few weeks ago. They cracked me up real good. Showed me how I get my back aches and shoulder pains by telling me that my posture is wrong and the way I stand. Felt loosened up after an hour session. They seem to know what they're doing here.

This is my first non-food review in Looloo. And it is going to be about a massage place. Food and massage--my simple pleasures in life.

I have been experiencing lower back pain, and was looking for a place that does body alignment and massage.

My Japanese friend recommended me this place Karada, a Japanese chain of wellness salon in Japan that has recently opened 3 branches already in Manila ( New Glorietta, Legaspi Village, and Serendra). I went to the one in Legaspi Village in Greenbelt Radissons, but since only Glorietta is listed in Looloo, I am parking my review here.

It is not a usual massage place, as it specializes in a combination of chiro theraphy, shiatsu and stretching. I got the AP and BT combination (bone alignment and body treatment massage) for 120 mins. at P1,300. A bit pricey, but it was the best value for my needs. They have less expensive packages too.

They got female and male therapists. But a special therapist ("chiropractors") does the bone alignment, as this requires special skill. My "chiropractor" was Jenny as recommended by my friend.

As there were several Japanese customers, it was a good sign.

After donning my long pajamas and t-shirt, a theraphist interviewed me about my condition, then she did some tests, which showed my shoulders, feet and spinal cord were, indeed, misaligned. Bad posture and results of hours in front of a computer in the office, or ipad writing reviews for Looloo on my bed or couch! hahaha!

Then Jenny started my bone alignment session. True to what my friend said, this lady was tiny, but had the power and pressure stronger than probably a male therapist, and you know is trained in her skill. She hit the right points and cracked my neck and bones with the confidence of a skilled chiropractor. Everytime, she will hit something; she warns me that it was going to be mildly painful. It is what she calls "painful yet relaxing" or in Japanese "itakimochii". How true! I wanted to doze off when she was doing it, but too bad, had to change positions and stand several times. Then another therapist finished the body treatment or shiatsu massage. Hope she can do everything, but, I guess, she is in demand.

Jenny was excellent in the body alignment. Now I feel like my whole body is fine tuned. She told me to come back after 3 days, and mentioned the second treatment actually is the most important. Let's see if my back ache will disappear permanently, but now I feel better already.

The shiatsu massage was also good, but not necessarily the best I had. Perhaps, I should try another therapist. I like shiatsu because it doesn't use oil, but purely deep pressure. Here I almost doze off, but the chatter of the next cubicle kept me awake.

My only suggestion is if they could dim the lights and have higher cubicle walls so people can really relax and sleep, and also have nice, relaxing pipe in music and aromatheraphy. But, I guess, the concept now is more of a "clinic" than a spa. The massage tables are also different from what I have seen. Really medically designed. The place was clean, and the staff were all courteous.

Jenny refused to accept tip. And that is highly commendable. She said it was enough for me to come back for next session. The assistant theraphists though gladly accepted. Not sure what is the policy here. 128558 They also gave me a loyalty card of 5+1 free.

If you have stiff neck and back pains, where you need something more than a massage, I highly recommend this place!
