So me and my brother were craving for jap food but we are really on a tight budget. Good thing we saw the promo on Karate Kid. Rice bowls for only 99 pesos (including the red iced tea which is so good just like in Tokyo Tokyo).

So I got the Spicy Calamari P99. It was okay... not that spicy tho 128532

My brother had the Korean Chicken P99. I think it’s good naman because he finished the bowl within 5 minutes 128514

And my cousin had the Mixed Tempura P99.

We also had the Gyoza. Which is good also. Very tasty.

All in all it was good. Plus the Iced tea is so delish! I loved it! Sulit naman for 99 pesos 10084

I had an interview within the vicinity today, and this was the first restaurant I saw that wasn't packed. Since I was on a budget, I checked their menu and was glad they offer Php 99 meals. Boy, was that gladness short-lived.

I ordered the CHICKEN TERI, and it comes with a drink they call the Kido Punch Tea. As you can see in the photo, the meal was served in a bowl. The photo is deceiving though as it looks like the serving was quite big. In reality, the rice was so bitin, and the chicken was coated in a sauce with a taste I can't explain. It was too nakakaumay. The excessive breading on the small cubes of chicken meat didn't help either. The vegies tasted okay. The drink, on the other hand, tasted so much like tap water! It had an iced tea taste but the tap water feel lingered in my mouth. Good thing I brought a bottle of water with me.

Only redeeming factor was the service. (Which is where the additional star came from, I would've given this a 111088). If you want (budget) Japanese food, DO NOT come here. It's not worth it. Tokyo Tokyo is, by far, a better budget Japanese restaurant.

P.S.: I think Karate Kid used to be a more high-end restaurant than Tokyo Tokyo? Or am I wrong?
