Today I wanted something light and so we headed here for the unli salad which is great btw. The veggies are always fresh, clean and refilled constantly. You can avail the salad bar when you order any set meal. I didn't want a set meal today so I ordered the pork shabu shabu salad, had no idea it was half meat, half green!128518 Not complaining at alll since it was really tasty & I Loved the dressing that tangy and creamy at the same time, though it was a bit too much for me like the pork lol Well, there goes another failed attempt to eat a healthy meal I guess 128514.

It was my second time here (photo was actually taken on our first visit in late January). I was again with my mom, and this time, with my favorite brother. 128521

What we liked here:
> their salad buffet - no need to call the attention of the servers for a refill of grated cabbage, or fruits, or rice. Even while waiting for our orders to be served, we already started with some salad appetizers and tried some mix and match of the veggies and set of sauces, since the servers immediately provided small bowls and utensils. We loved the mashed potato salad with egg slices, cucumbers, etc. Loved their pineapples and watermelon; fresh, and aptly ripe and sweet.
> their servers - always courteous, and helpful, and attentive.
> the waiting time - for those two times, we were always given a table right away, but maybe because we came a bit early than peak hour/s; we're already eating when people started pouring in. Food were served altogether, which we prefer because we all ate at the same time.

What we didn't like:
> miso soup - it just tasted weird. Parang sunog. I really like Ginza Bairin's. I love sabaw, but dito lang ako hindi humingi ng extra.
> My mom didn't like both Salmon Fry Set (first visit) and Menchi Katsu Set. Well, she just said that she didn't like how they tasted in general. Looks like, we can't make her eat here again.
> They didn't give the centavos-part of our change. It was still almost a peso, basta above 0.75, i think. If Ruth D was there, nako, lagot sila.

Sakto lang their Tatsutaage Set. That was my order. It's four pieces of deep fried chicken. Brother tasted it, napaisip siya paano nanuot ng sobra 'yung lasa. 128077 He ordered the Mix Seafood Set (Ebi, Salmon and Crab). I loved their prawns! Made me regret not ordering their Ebi Furai.

Wanted to try one of their tonkatsus, but I'm currently on hiatus with pork until further notice. 128516128522

I have eaten here a total of 3 times before this first review of mine.

1st visit: Outgoing boss’ last treat to the team

2nd visit: Outgoing boss’ last treat to the team

3rd visit: Dinner with my girlfriend

Given the tough 2015 we had, I went through a revolving door of bosses, and our team’s usual request was a treat in Katsu Sora before they left. Since it was their last treat, we made sure to order the second most expensive meal from the menu. Medyo nahiya rin kami. Haha So on my third visit, wherein I had to pay for the first time, I made sure to order the least expensive Katsudon available. Medyo nahiya rin ako. Haha Once you scan their menu, you’ll notice a pattern. Each set has four choices beneath them, which are the following: Iberico, Kurobuta, Shimofuri, and Sakura. I listed that in order of decreasing prices. Sakura would cost a little over half of Iberico's cost. Yes, I noticed that! But only in my 3rd visit haha. I honestly thought that the difference in meat choice would be very subtle, but I was wrong. There’s a reason Iberico is priced that high. It had more meat in it, and that was my primary observation, which weighed a lot in my grading for these options.
Although, Sakura would be fine with me as well. Maybe some other time when I feel like splurging more, I'd go with the pricier ones.

Once you order your set, you may now make your way to the buffet. I’d usually go for the salad and potatoes before my meal. Then after my meal, I get a bit of fruit. During my meal, I get a lot of rice. Everything’s unlimited in the buffet. During my 3rd visit though, it was a bit crowded since it was dinner time. This eventually resulted into empty fruits bowl midway my dessert phase. I didn’t bother asking for a refill of the bowl because to be honest I was quite full already. Classic buffet sin which I usually commit: eat even though you’re already full. My goal with any buffet is to decrease the price/gram. So any additional intake I can muster in me will help in that objective of mine. It’s not the best metric though since it leads to bad behavior. Haha

Staff, I believe, was as attentive as they could be. It just felt like they were undermanned since the restaurant was full. So there were times I felt that the service time was a bit slow. Also! Another table which arrived after us got their food first even if we had the same order! I didn’t bother pointing that out to the staff because I was too tired and hungry to follow up.
I would've given this place 5 stars for my first two visits..

That’s it for now. Take care everyone!

We decided to try this katsu place and we were surprised to know that they offer unlimited salad, soup and rice with every katsu set. Its value for money given the selection of salad and fruits available.

Good tonkatsu! Not memorably good, but better than your average and worth a visit nevertheless. 128512 The pork was tender, not dry, and the breading was fried to a good crisp without being overdone.

I tried the set with different types of pork, but in all honesty couldn't tell the difference. 128514 Or maybe my palate isn't refined that way. The eat-all-you-can salad bar is a great bonus too!

Waiting for 10mins at my table and no service staff on sight!

This is 1215nn on a lunch rush, mind you...

Better close down your shop so other restos w better service can take your place!

If I were to be blindfolded for a taste test it would be difficult to distinguish Yabu from Katsu Sora since their food tastes exactly the same (or at least the Chicken Katsu since that's what I ordered). I loved it! The sides are also refillable but they have a salad bar! You get unlimited greens and fruits with a wide selection of dressing if you order any katsu set. Prices are okay I guess. I still like Yabu better though - presentation of food, doneness of katsu, ambiance, and service-wise.

Before watching Mockingjay we had an early dinner at this new resto .

Ordered ff
2 Kurobota Tonkatsu
1 Ebi furai set
1 mixed seafood set
1 soda
1 asahi beer

Total bill P2.5k

The resto was almost empty when we entered and seems people are intimidated thinking it's expensive.

The salad bar greeted us while we were seated on the couch.

Upon being seated we were quickly apprised on menu items and freebies.

Unlimited rice
Unlimited salad
Unlimited hot tea
Unlimited miso soup
Unlimited fruits

Food was served w a bit of waiting time, though it was worth the wait.

After tasting each others orders we felt "umay" maybe because of the breading or "msg felt feeling"

Overall, place and food can be compared to other katsu resto chains .

Value for money ,maybe on the low side as serving size is not that big and fits for 1person.

Santouka and Katsu Sora are beside each other in Greenhills where we are from. Every time we stand in front of both places, Santouka would win. But on all saints day, we found ourselves in the mall taking a break from the memorial park.

My husband chose to eat in Katsu Sora and we were both pleasantly surprised.

My husband chose the Shimofuri Katsu and I sad what you see in the photo -- Tatsutaage set. I generally prefer chicken over pork that's why I got this.

We were very happy with what we ordered -- inclusive eat all you can soup, salad and fruits for dessert. My chicken was very flavorful too. I liked that they had furikake to put on the rice. Can't wait to go back a second time.

Now, we know what to choose sometimes when we stand in front of those two doors again.

This Katsu Sora is my go to place to endulge in tonkatsu while on a budget. They offer salad buffet on set meals.

PS: Grab a seat next to the salad station for easy access on their side dishes.

Katsu Sora from the Santouka Ramen group finally opens in SM BF. They offer 4 kinds of imported pork. 128055

It's like Yabu but with a salad buffet. You don't only get unlimited rice, cabbage, miso soup and fruits but they also included steamed broccoli, seedless grapes, cherry tomatoes, watermelons, slices of oranges and greens! Not to mention their potato salads and soups! (They do have dispensers just for their soups!)

All sets in Katsu Sora comes with unlimited rice, salad and soup. Goodbye diet!

We tried their Mille Feuille (Sakura Pork) and the Cheese and Ohba Mille Feuille set. Its very filling and inexpensive which comes also with hot tea. Side dish pa lang busog na busog na kami! 128540

The place is clean and well decorated! Parking won't be a problem because it's inside SM BF. The servers are very nice and accomodating! 128522

I still prefer Yabu's katsu but with the selection of additional appetizers in Katsu Sora I will definitely try this again! Next time I will try their famous Iberico Katsu Set! 128061
