Katunggan Park has 200 100 year old Mangrove trees.

Now, I'm not good at Math but those numbers make
me think it's significant.

Let's let that sink in.

This place is the adult version of Mahinog. It's this place where you can plant baby Mangroves.

Here's a bit of trivia since Mahinog isn't something on Looloo because it's not an actual place but it's a community.

You see, Mangroves provide protection against typhoons, and big waves, they also attract fish, shrimps and crabs and even birds. They help with climate change as well by cooling the earth. Think about it, you're not only on vacation, you're also saving planet earth by planting Mangroves! That's not all though. You'll be guided by the local community who is deeply involved in the conservation and protection of the island. The Mahinog Poblacion Fisherfolks Association (MAPFIAS), a registered People's Organization under the DOLE Regional Office. This means that these folks are legit. They are a group of 37 men and women, mostly fishermen and their wives who regularly plant Mangroves along the coast of Mahinog.

Should you be in Camiguin and decide to volunteer to plant Mangroves with this community, know that you're not only investing in a good memory for your holiday, you'll also be helping the environment and the same time helping the local community with their livelihood and their advocacy, you rock star you!

Back to Katunggan Park.

Well, give it maybe 3-14 years and your little Mangrove will start to resemble the beauties you will see in this park. The best way to describe this park is to say that it is surreal. It is other worldly. You would think you were in a Rom-Com film and the lead actress screams out of joy "Heto dapat ang ini-Instagram. You walk on wooden Japanese style bridges while the shade of the majestic trees create an ambiance worthy of HOHOL.

For 15-20 Php, you can spend a whole day here (providing you have provisions with you since there's no physical store in the premises). Although, you can rent a rod and fish in here.

You can rent a cabana for around 30-50Php) which fits about 10 people.

It's a place to catch up with ones writing. Think about life. Plot how to murder an ex. Get in touch with nature.
