Is it just me or many of you also have friends who are now in Japan to experience the blooming of the sakura trees first hand? Lahat sila nasa Japan. My Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram feeds are all infested by those Japan food, tourist spots, and cherry blossom photos! Super inggit and I promise I will experience that next year! 🏻 visited Tokyo last January of this year and I've been wanting to go back since I arrived. Japan has to be one of my favorite Asian destinations!
Since I miss everything about Japan, I always crave Japanese food lately. I actually had Ippudo ramen for early lunch today and since I finished work earlier than usual, I was not able to fight the urge to go inside KFC and try their new rice bowls. You choose between Osaka Teriyaka or their Jamaican Rice Bowl. Of course, I got the former.
Overall, the rice bowl was an okay. A big serving of rice, which I think was really dry (though what would you expect from a fast food joint?), topped with their chicken fun shots (those bite sized chicken i don't know if it can be called nuggets, i think yes?), and their teriyaki sauce. It was a simple mix and not bad for the price of 99 bucks (without drinks). Thought the sauce was spicy, but it was not. I thought kulang sa sauce though.
I got really disappointed though when the cashier said "Sir, donate nalang natin ang 1-peso sa charity ha"... Not that I wouldn't want to donate but the way she asked was like you have to and she'll judge you if you took it back. A different way of asking would've been nicer, miss.
I forgot to review it but I also tried their Osaka Teriyaki Zinger meal. Burger version of this rice bowl. It was really good but very very hot! The first bite had me sweating like a villain! The crunch from the chicken fillet was really good though and the bun was a-okay, the usual. It also came with the shredded cabbage and carrots.
I know, adik lang sa anything Japanese food lately. I love their cuisine! Gusto ko maging Hapon! Good afternoon!
