Decided to eat here again since it's been awhile since I've had their delicious Paitan Zenbu no Sen Ramen!

Upon arrival, I was pleased that the staff recognized me, because she asked me if I was still ordering the usual, but WTF happened to the menu? The nice menu I used to purview when I ate here was replaced with laminated menu cards (with no pictures). 🤔 The staff told me that my usual order was now called the Black Garlic Ramen, so ok, ordered that and some pork gyoza.

My gyoza tasted exactly the same way I remembered it, so this was today's visit's "saving grace" for my palate. The ramen was another thing altogether.

It looked the same, but the toppings were all cold (note: cold, not cool nor room temp), and the broth, while still as rich as before, was too sweet! I knew that chicken broth ramen is sweeter than the usual pork broth, but this is NOT the broth I remember from Kichitora. Additionally, you know the taste of soup that's been left out in the kitchen for over a day, or been left boiling at the bottom of the pan ("latak"). The taste reminded me of that. 128532

Saddened with today's visit, and I probably won't be coming back here if I'm in the mood for ramen.

Food: ♥️
Staff: ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ (but my great experience with staff isn't enough to redeem the disappointing taste).

One of my favorite ramen places! Love how rich, tasty and oh so flavorful the broth is. Serving size is not as big as the other ramen places but the richness and yumminess of the broth/soup compensates for the not so big serving size. Sabaw pa lang, masaya ka na!

That's what I usually say to my friends whenever they ask me where to eat ramen in BGC aside from the usual (i.e., Ramen Nagi, Ikkoryu, or Ippudo)

I've only been here twice and I haven't been back again since last year. So to let myself remember again why I love this place, I suggested we eat here for dinner one rainy Friday night. Ony enjoyed our first visit here as well, so it wasn't that hard trying to convince him. He just agreed. 128521

From my office (Marajo Tower), we walked going here. This is located in BHS Central Square, in the same floor as the cinemas. Same side as Happy Lemon, Va Bene, Mad Mark's, and Chihuahua.

They've been around for so long already and though not as popular anymore since there are a lot of other "well-known and more popular" ramen places in the area, surprisingly, there were still a lot of customers during our visit. The place was packed!! Goes to show that a lot of people are still enjoying the ramen here. I was really excited and can't wait to eat here again!!! 128513128588🏼

Since we weren't that hungry, we shared an order of one ramen and gyoza.

Both the ramen and gyoza were just okay. I remember loving both before. The gyoza tasted like the ones we can buy in supermarkets. 128530 The ramen though still good was not the "OMG I LOOVE THIS RAMEN" kind. It was not as tasty and flavorful anymore. It was just an okay ramen. I can't believe I'm removing this from my favorite ramen list. 128557128148

Also, service was just okay. Servers weren't that nice and service was slow. 128530

Disappointed.

Paitan Chicken Ramen Zenbu No Se is no more. They replaced it with another named black-garlic-eklavu or something. They say it's the same but with lesser ingredients (1/2 egg instead of 2 halves, one stalk of pechay etc...). It would've been ok as long as the taste is the same. But No, It didn't taste the same. I would know because their Zenbu No Se has been one of my top choices in Ramen. It was too sweet and the taste of the Chicken in the soup is not there.

Fluke? Hit or miss? ☹️

Always filling, to the point of being too sated. But one good thing about this restaurant is that they allow you to take out your unfinished ramen.

Craving for Japanese food but not really a fan of ramen but after having Paitan Ramen Zenbu, I would love to come back to try other ramen flavors too. For P420, this will be good for sharing but of course still depending on your appetite. My hubby and I also ordered gyoza for P180 which we also loved but not the rice topping pork that already forgot its name.

It has been a while since I had ramen, plus the fact that I am not a ramen fan (though I've tried quite a number hehe) - but since my friends and I didn't want to wait on Mad Mark's, we decided to eat here.
I can say that the place looks sad and rundown; it was stark contrast their Megamall branch. I had second thoughts dining in this branch as I stepped in, but my previous experience in Megamall about their ramen was positive.
So I got their chicken ramen - it was ok but the broth wasn't as rich as per my recollection. And as the place was cold, our ramen got cold fast 128528
So sad for this branch...

My daughter wanted to eat ramen so I ordered shio ramen for her. She was not able to finish it, soup was way too salty. This ramen place is way behind all the others.

It's a travesty that I haven't rated Kichitora's Ramen yet even if it's been almost 2 years since I first ate at their Glorietta 5 branch. Because I rate it as my Top / Most Favorite Ramen!!!

I've tried many ramen bowls since its boom 2 years ago. I've tried practically all of the known ones. And I still rate as my top favorite their best-selling Paitan Ramen. Sorry, Kichitora, for the delay. I promise you I'll write this review with my normal gusto!

I'll rate their Boni High Street Central Square branch for now because I ate there today, which makes it about 5 times I've eaten there since I moved to BGC. In fact, the pic here is their Paitan Ramen from two Saturdays ago (when I was craving for Ramen so much that I walked to this branch after purchasing Sushi to take-home for my wife from Marketplace by Rustan's). 128540 I ate their more robust Paitan Zenbu No Se Ramen earlier, which adds the egg and seaweed to the usual Paitan Ramen.

Paitan Ramen is made in the same broth as the traditional tonkotsu broth. Different Ramen places call it different things, but what makes Kichitora's white broth version different is because theirs is just ever so slightly creamier. Perhaps what makes it different is that they use chicken broth while others use pork. If that's the secret, I don't know why others don't adopt it. Or then again, maybe that's just part of what makes me love Kichitora's Paitan Ramen even more. So that's what I'd recommend to you Ramen-lovers. Whether it's the Paitan Ramen (P360) or the Paitan Zenbu No Se Ramen (P420, which adds an additional piece of pork or chicken chashu, dried seaweed, molten lava egg (ajitsuke tamago), and given a dash of flavorful fried garlic oil (ma-yu)), you can't go wrong with this. Rating: 5/5

Today, I ordered along with my colleagues their Gyoza (5 pieces) and Chicken Karaage (good for sharing, deep fried and breaded chicken pieces). Not bad. About 3.5/5. Decent complement to the Ramen, but you can get pretty damned full anyway.

Their interior is simple, with hints of black and modern touches. But I found it lacked character and was just a mix of clean and contemporary, nothing more. 3/5 (-1 for always not being cold enough, if I'm doing a 2nd or 3rd rating).

Alas, in this branch, their service, I've always found, to just be adequate. Considering they're never full, their staff can stand to be more proactive, more friendly, and simply better. Compared with the other Ramen places like Ramen Nagi and Ippudo are professional and friendly, theirs is just a level above the notoriously unfriendly Ukkokei wait staff in Pasay Road, Makati. If this was a service rant, their overall rating would be a 3 even. So you've got to step up, Kichitora BGC staff.

But since this is a long overdue write-up, I'm giving the Paitan Ramen the hall of fame rating it deserves.

P.S. Their Paitan Ramen is notoriously low on broth level. I've had two occasions on having to ask for free broth from the manager for each branch. Take your shot if you feel strongly, but the broth level is really low, relative to other Ramen places.

Spicy Miso Ramen in da haus! Broth was spicy and rich. Quite good, although I must say that I like their tantanmen more. Glad that there's another decent ramen place nearby. 128523

A few weeks after I got my first slurp of their Paitan ramen, I was able to finally return and grab a bowl of their Tantanmen. 'Twas awesome, I'd say. The broth was really rich and thick that you might already consider it a paste instead of broth! Exaggeration aside, what I liked best in their version of my noodle favorite is the consistency of each visible ingredient: the greens weren't overcooked, the mushrooms were perfect, and the ground meat were savory. The broth es delicioso, no kidding. The taste is really good. But for a person like me who gives a lot of importance to good broth quality and quantity, I always wanted my noodles to be completely submerged in broth, which I believe that this dish failed to offer me. I'd still pick their Paitan ramen all day. 128076

Great food, good staff, and cozy ambience. Their Paitan Ramen is totally worth every buck. Each bowl is topped with perfectly cooked noodles, chashu, chinese cabbage, ajitama, naruto, and nori. In fact, I can still imagine the taste of its sweet, nutty, creamy broth while typing this.

We also tried one of their rice bowls: Chashu Rice. Unfortunately, they ran out of chashu slices that evening so they served the chashu diced. The dish was drizzled by a sauce, together with two slices of ajitama, and nori strips.

Lastly, one should also consider ordering their Gyoza. Every piece is a preview of what happiness tastes like. So juicy, warm, and tasty. Just perfect.

It was only thursday but last week was one of the most tiring and draining week for Anthony and me. Deadlines = Overtime. 128163128299128680 Good thing, friday's a holiday and to celebrate our survival and the long weekend ahead, we decided to try this place out.

Because we're hAngry (very!!!!) we "kind of" ordered a lot 128517128518128584 Chicken Karaage (150), Pork Chashu Rice (175), Gyoza (150), Chicken Soboro Don (175), Paitan Ramen Zenbu no Se (420) & Shoyu Ramen (320) 127836128076🏼

Service was kinda slow but our orders arrived all at the same time so not bad. 128513

The gyoza was good but I still like Yushoken and Nagi's. Crispy on one side and soft on the other. It was good but was kinda small and bitin.

The karaage was okay, crispy breading but there wasn't that much flavor in it. But for a single serving size, it was a lot! 128076🏼

The two rice meals were good, as well. These are the small version for 175 pesos each. It also comes with a free miso soup. The chicken tasted like giniling. Salty ground chicken with soft boiled egg. The pork, on the other hand, tasted like adobo. It was super tender! Perfect paired with rice and egg! 128076🏼

We asked for their two bestseller ramens and these are the staff's recommendation -- Paitan Ramen and Shoyu Ramen.

We are used to ramens with pork broth, but here in Kichitora, they use chicken broth. The Paitan Ramen was super good. No lansa taste at all. We made a mistake of trying it before the shoyu ramen as it was reallly really good and rich and oh so tasty! The shoyu was good but was kinda salty. The pork chashu was super tender and tasty. I also liked that there were a lot of toppings especially the pechay (?) leaves. 128513128513 One serving of ramen can already be shared by 2 persons. 128077🏼

Kichitora is a really nice solid ramen place. It's only sad that it doesn't have that much "recognition". If you like ramen, you should try this place especially their Paitan Ramen Zenbu no Se! Really good and oh so yummy! 128525128076🏼

Hooray for second chances! Kichitora was so much better the second time around for me! Marc David M Cj A Kristine F Yen D

Just randomly decided to give it another try and this time, the broth wasn't the thin one with the malansa after-taste. This time it's thick and very flavorful! The bowl was almost clean after I was done eating! Was tempted to order extra noodles! 128514

Looks like my first visit _was_ just their off day. I'm happy! Thanks for fighting for Kichitora Marc David M and Cj A hahaha!

Spicy paitan wasn't spicy enough for me... Thick soup , murky that I can't even finish half of the bowl , chasu was really tender & thicker than most joint ( only reason that I still give a 3 star)... Service was aloof ... Maybe I expected too much from all the positive reviews
