We were supposed to eat at Mad Mark's but since there were so many people and we were a group of 8, we decided to settle for Kichitora--which is right beside of Mad Mark's. I ordered the Black Garlic Paitan Ramen then made it a set meal with the small Pork Chashu Rice. You add 150 to your ramen if you want to make it a set meal.

The ramen was really good! The noodles were very firm, which is how I like it because I'm a slow eater and it doesn't become soggy in the long run. It already had tamago in it! In a lot of the ramen restos, you have to shell in extra cash for the tamago. So that's a plus. The broth was really good and flavorful! However, na-umay ako ng onti towards the end because of the very strong flavors brought about by the black garlic. I suggest ordering the regular paitan ramen which is lighter in flavor.

The Pork Chashu Rice was good, nothing really extraordinary but not bad either! The pork had a nice and strong flavor to it which pairs with the rice perfectly. Adding 150 for a set meal may be pretty big but then again, it also comes with iced tea!

Will definitely come back to try the original paitan ramen. My damage was around 540 + 10% service charge. Which is okay if you really want some good ramen on a cold evening. The staff were also quick to attend to our needs. They also have house tea so that's awesome, as always. :)

Kichitora is more known for their ramen bowls but for our visit, I opted to order Chicken Karaage rice bowl instead. Why? I love chicken and I got a little intrigued when I saw it on the table beside us. My order included around 5pcs of chicken karaage, a bowl of rice and a side salad. I like how the chicken was cooked - crunchy on the outside, super soft inside. The rice was typical Japanese rice and the salad was just okay.

It's one of those days when I have nothing planned for the evening and I have to wait for Bernisse C to finish up with work (cos I'm an awesome sister right? Hahahaha! 128514)

Good thing my two foodie officemates were looking for ramen because of the rainy "ramen" weather. I had dinner buddies! 127881128514 We've always wanted to go to Kichitora for lunch because it's one of my top ramen places here in Manila but since it's so far from the office, we never had the chance to do so over lunch.

I'm not sure why but Kichitora decided to rename their menu items and their menu was scaled down to just a laminated short bond paper sized card. 128533 No more pretty photos and descriptive menu. 128532

BLACK GARLIC PAITAN RAMEN
• formerly Paitan Ramen Zenbu no Se
This has been my usual order every single visit because it's their signature ramen made with Paitan Chicken topped with your choice of chicken or pork chashu with a drizzle of black garlic oil. As compared to the first time I ate in Kichitora, I think the taste of their ramen might have lost it's magic. 128532 It's not as "wow 128563" as before. (or maybe because I just came home from Japan) 128517

WHITE SESAME RAMEN
When this was served, the smell of sesame overwhelmed me. The ramen also had few meat portions. It only had small ground meat. It's also mildly spicy.

CHICKEN KARAAGE
Boneless fried chicken that's extremely soft and juicy! The breading has a small hint of ginger. It's served with a lemon wedge and some mayonnaise. 128077🏼

PAN FRIED GYOZA
I was already full by the time H ordered an additional plate of gyoza so I didn't eat anymore. It looked a bit pale upon first look but since H and T did not have any complaints, I'm pretty sure it's good enough. 128514

Most of their ramen are made from chicken broth which makes it a bit different from the other restaurants who offer ramen - which makes it so good and full of flavor! The serving is just right - with the right amount of meat.

I've been avoiding ramen because I am trying to lose weight, but my friend wanted ramen and it was bed weather yesterday so we went to her favorite ramen place in Glorietta. We each ordered the Kitchitora Paitan Tsukemen for P390. Not bad, and it was really good. I'm partial to pork that "melts in the mouth" though.

I've tried this place before but was disappointed with the ramen I ordered (and my sister didn't like their tan tan men ramen as well), which is why I ruled this out of my go-to places whenever I'm craving for ramen. After my first visit, I swore to never return to this restaurant again. But then, my curiosity changed that. This restaurant has always been part of the top 10 ramen list, and also has a high rating, so I can't help but think that I had the wrong impression about it. I tried this restaurant again for lunch with my friends, and this time, I ordered their best selling ramen. The serving for this ramen is huge! And the 2 pcs of pork that came with it, also huge!!! I'm not exaggerating, it's the biggest, thickest pork I've had on top of a ramen. I loved everything about that ramen, and my friends did, too. Recommending this to everyone, but if you want to be happy about your meal, make sure to order their best selling ramen (don't risk it). Needless to say, this restaurant was able climb back up to my heart and earn my utmost love and respect. Coming back for more!

Second time to try Kichitora's Paitan Ramen Zenbu no Se and I still love it! 10084️ It really is one of the best ramen in town!

The ramen was cooked well and it was definitely slurp worthy! The broth was really flavorful and I enjoyed sipping the bowl clean. 128513 The egg!! I really love the cook on their egg! My two friends even left one slice for last. "Save the best for last!" As for me, well, I have a pretty low EQ. I ate it midway through my ramen. 128517 Their chashu here is was already diced into cubes, which I'm not sure why, but it still had the same flavor. 128077🏼

If only I can have ramen everyday without burning a hole through my wallet and gaining so much calories! 128525

Was excited to try out Kichitora because of the raving reviews I've read about this restaurant. However, I was honestly slightly disappointed, as I tasted and experienced their ramen that didn't live up to its hype (sorry, Kichitora fans 128513).

My friend and I had lunch here and we ordered the famous Paitan Ramen Zenbu no Se. There was barely any customer which was great for us, but slightly weird as it was lunch time. It also took quite a while before the order was served, even though there were only literally 6 customers in the resto.

The ramen verdict: slightly bland that there was a need for me to experiment with the available condiments (ie., chilli oil, soy sauce) to make the broth tastier. This was a turn off for me as I didn't have to do that in Ramen Nagi or Mendokoro Ramenba. The noodle to broth ratio was also a bit off--more noodles than broth--and I would have preferred my noodles firmer. Fortunately, there was a good assortment of additions to the ramen such as the tamago, chicken/pork and nori.

Ambiance wise, it was a typical ramen restaurant, but appreciate the additional touch of Japanese interiors in the entrance. Customer service was okay; there were like only 3 staff members I think, which was fine. But hopefully, there'll more of them if it happens that there will be more customers in the area.

I wasn't too pleased with the overall experience and felt like my PHP457 bill wasn't value for money. Needless to say, this is not a restaurant I'll be excited to eat at anytime soon.

We had our team Christmas Party here at their VIP section. It's not entirely enclosed but somewhat secluded - and it's not a problem at all. We had a great time with the nice ambience and even nicer service crew! Their manager went to check our food experience twice and their chef even gave us 1 free ramen to try, which flavor shall soon be part of the menu.

Kichitora is one of those ramen houses that I won't be tired to dine at. It just doesn't disappoint and service is always excellent!

Ive eaten in a bunch of ramen houses in the metro but I can say Kichitora is my favorite. The Paitan zenbu no sen is my all time favorite along with their karaage. The taste is just right in my taste buds-not too powerful nor too blunt. And the meat, uhhhh.. It melts in your mouth! By the way, they are also generous with their servings.

My default ramen house for Tantanmen in particular! Talk about Ramen streak, I think we went here three times in two weeks, not even counting "others" yet.

Ah, I love how this place isn't as rowdy, or filled with split second chants.

Probably under rated, or perhaps it's the location - 3rd flr Glorietta 5? Not much people really go to glorietta 5.

Now to my dearest Tantanmen ---
Hard noodles of course.. Oh and the divine sesame tare! Ahhh, heavy, and creamy but does not have an "umay" factor because of the well balanced spice, and smooth slurping experience. The ground pork by itself has a distinctive taste, that complements the rich base.

Tried their chasu cuts as well and wooooh tasty by itself with a roasty kick!

Don't get their gyoza as it is thier weak link (go ippudo or mendokoro instead).

Tamago - just, okay.....

Byfar the best, alongside Mendokoro!
*Ukkokei && Yushoken -- I wonder....

RAMEN!!! 127836

It's been a while since my last Paitan Chicken Ramen Zenbu No Se kaya walang makakapigil sakin! 9996128513

Luckily nothings changed since my last bowl. It's still the same Thick Chicken Tonkotsu Goodness that I've been accustomed to.

Wifey got the Paitan Tsukemen which was good too. I know because I also ate her leftover which was about halfway. Yummm! 9786

Another craving, satisfied! Party party na naman ang mga bulate ko hehehe. 128514

Been wanting to try their famous Paitan Zenbu no Se because of the good reviews here at looloo. Yesterday we had our early dinner here to try it and also ordered Chicken Karaage for my son. We were the only customer that time so our order came fast. You can choose your toppings from either pork chasu or chicken so i had chasu. Their ramen was mild with thick broth not salty like the others. Hands down to their chasu it's very tender that melts in your mouth, Tamago was already included as a topping too. I wasn't able to finished the regular size bowl it was very filling. For the Chicken Karaage it's really good not oily at all. Waiter also told me that they no longer serves ramen set meals but they still have small sizes of ramen bowls.

I was full the whole day that i thought of skipping dinner but with the unexpected long night at work, i got a little hungry. Weather called for ramen and Chichi T called for dinner. Sounded good, Nagi was the only ramen place i acknowledged since it was nearby, but with Cheech's suggestion, we trooped to Glorietta 5 and shared a bowl. We got the Paitan Ramen Zenbu no se. Funny how the name of the ramen sounded like a jumble of different languages to me - Filipino, japanese and spanish. 128513

When your tamago looks at you with wall-e eyes, i guess you know it's authentic. I liked everything about it. The broth was rich and filling without being umay. I may need to get accustomed to their noodles it tasted different. The pork was also tasty and tender. Mushrooms and spring onions just right for taste. 128077🏽

Bathroom was a unisex and we all know that these are never sweet smelling as some people miss the bowl. This is why they have alcohol in the bathroom i guess. - 1 star for this.

Going back when i'm hungry. It's worth the walk.

Chicken Soboro is a simple yet very filling dish. It's just minced chicken with egg and laver on top of rice in a bowl. What I liked is its sweet and salty flavor.

Here's an overdue review for Kichitora. Hehe. 128514

Two weeks after my officemate and friend resigned from work, we finally met again. Happy, happy! So, we decided to have an early dinner at Kichitora. We ordered two Paitan Ramen sets, one set with karaage and the other with gyoza. Their ramen set also comes with a free dessert and an iced tea.

Their ramen is really good and is comparable with Santouka's. The broth is rich and flavorful. 128077

The karaage, on the other hand, is quite oily and nakakaumay because of the flour breading.

Gyoza is so-so. Hehe. And the free dessert? Hmm. Not good. Hehe.

In general, I'd still recommend this place because their ramen is good. The place is nice and cozy, too.

The Verdict:
Taste - 4/5
Serving - 5/5
Price - 5/5
Place - 5/5
Service - 5/5

Ordered Paitan Zenbu No Se as it's popular on |ooloo. It was good! I liked the noodles, the taste of the broth (the thick texture not so much), and the ajitsuke tamago (molten lava egg). Small-sized ramen bowls are available but I was "hangry" so I settled for the regular size. Also had single order of chicken karaage on the side. The outside was really crispy but the meat was very tender. 128076🏼

Tried out the ramen at this place but found the soup base too thick and tasty... we got full agad sa sabaw palang. Hehe! We prefer shio-based ramen better and less nakaka-umay.

Anyway, to cap-off our meal, we ordered Dojo buttercream ice cream. It tasted good for me but hubby said it was just okay... And felt like just eating cold butter. Lol. It had a lot of glazed almond bits which made me like this ice cream.

There are other interesting flavors of Dojo but I am not in the mood to try it that time so I ordered the safest flavor 128077🏼
