A bit pricey, but the food is definitely worth it and delicious. Slightly disappointed with the asparagus wrapped in bacon as I was expecting a different version. But theirs is also good, just not something I was imagining.
Staff are very accommodating and attentive. Place is nice and ambiance is good.

Kimono Ken is my friend's ultimate comfort food. If it's the battle of "sino malungkot today?", she's #TeamKimonoKen and I'm #TeamOmakase. Both Jap restos are within Timog/Tomas area but she won today because she said she's stressed out and I have to be a good friend today.

K. Fine.

Okay! Parking first. They have a guard who will assist you in parking and they also have valet service which is really convenient for Tomas restos. That's a plus.

Service is not so attentive and can do better, but they won't leave you with strained kili-kili and let you wave that long, so it's kinda okay. No problem on that.

Food. You can order hot tea and they'd gladly refill it for you. We always sit by the tea area so I can always get my refill. The usuals here include their Chicken Teriyaki Salad which my friend loves. She drops by sometimes just to order this salad to go. Get it with extra teriyaki sauce on the side for full experience.

The Dynamite Roll with spicy salmon and spicy tuna is far from being spicy. Actually, it's a thousand miles away from being spicy. You just have to imagine the dynamite part of it. The roll was kind of wet (and not chilled or what) and it was probably a busy night for everyone. We also ordered Gyu and Chahan which is pictured by a stolen shot because my friend asked me, "Pipicturan mo pa ba yan or may I just please eat?" Woah. Grumpy woman needs her beef. K fine. She loves this even if it's kinda pricey at 495. They ask you how you want it done and the correct answer is always "medium".

For 2 people, we always get a bill 900++. It's not a budget Japanese resto but it can solve your Japanese cravings in an instant.

And my 2 photos are ugly as crap. The photos got my friend's mood! 128528

It was my first time to try this resto. The interior is quite dark but i like it that way. Upon entry, we were greeted by some kind of japanese greetings....i didnt get what the greetings was , because they were shouting. We ordered ramen, kani salad, tempura, and chicken . The service was good also. I like the taste and its delicious. I know its fresh and the presentation really is awesome. But, next time , i would choose a buffet japanese resto, because add just a little amount and presto! You've tried it all.

#timogHits + japaneezah!

This one's right beside Kozui and right accross H-Bar for a quick combo of matcha, masahe (right across the street) and jappy food. Let's call it Match-Ushi-Ahe!

Pretty decent interior, plus points for the christmas tree!

I didn't like the spot near the window cause it was soo hot so we took the couch somewhere in the middle. (Yes, always get couchy seats for extra comfort. ie Im so fullll let's oink away while resting our backs and bloated bellies)

JAPPYNESS -
SUKIYAKI
It's honestly my first time to try sukiyaki (ever!) so my opinion is fresh - surprisingly sweet, shoyu ramen-ish soup with slimy yet chewy noodles, with savory beef slices among other things. HAPPYTIP: Add chili powder for a good tugOwar between flavors with an extra kick! And oh, according to @rainerpo, "best bang for your buck Suki that's cheaper than most but leagues beyond others priced the same"

SALMON SASHIMI
Surprisingly RED, or was it the lighting? Hmmm. But it's salmon daw so ok (0.0) Tasted nothing like tuna for sure, but not salmony either. What is this hybrid?!?! Oh aaand, for sashimi-babies you'd easily know if it's thawed or fresh. This one isn't hard-to-get cause there were slices that's still frozen! :( But for a budget-jap restau we let it pass. Good to add on top of maki so, siiiiigenanga

DYNAMITE ROLL (not sure if Mt Fuji? Or Golden?)
Not so dynamighty but wasabi did the trick! Don't like ebi so I had more of tuna, and salmon + squid. Sushi rice is always a deal breaker for me, luckily it wasn't scattered and too sticky so good rolls! And to add, @rainerpo "I don't remember much about it but you liked it so im happy with that" #myCheeseMaki

SLURP&Burp :
Iced Tea - nearly gone before I noticed! Hahaha cause I drink in the middle of eating. It makes me feel bloaty (baby say yeaaa, baby say yeaaa) Ok one word : CITRUSY.

Prolly will take a while to go back, cause there's alatov japs in the metro to try!

Happy hearts, happy tummies!
Arigatou Gozaimas!
Looloove,
B

This is near my previous workplace and so this was our Japanese staple. Here are some of my favorites 1. Crunchy Kani maki
2. Philadelphia roll
3. Bacon asparagus pasta
4. Dynamite maki

The other best thing about this place other than their food is their consistency whether the taste of their food or on their service.

Kelan kaya ko makakakita ng restaurant na kapag pumasok Ako ng naka pang bahay Hindi ako titignan mula ulo hanggang paa? 128514
In fairness initial reaction lang naman nila yun, they became courteous afterwards 128077

Ordered Spicy Fresh Maguro Salad (Spicy tuna salad); Gyoza and Watermelon Shake.
The spicy tuna salad is 128154. It's spicy but not overpowering and the tuna is cut in tiny pieces, hence the hassle free eating128522
The Watermelon shake is sooooo refreshing. It has retained the watermelon flavor even after I finished the meal.
The place is dimly lit, which is good since it was extremely hot outside. My puyat eyes are very thankful 128526

Kimono Ken is one of our go-to restaurants! They serve delicious Japanese food at the right price!

One night, my dad, brother and I went out for dinner. Our choice – Japanese cuisine! It was an interesting choice since my mom and brother were in Japan that night!

We ordered Salmon Sashimi, Gyoza , Gomoku Ramen, Ebi Tempura, and Chicken Teriyaki. Everything we ordered was good! My favorite was the gyoza – cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. The quality of Japanese food Kimono Ken offers is the reason why a lot of people come back for more, including me!

I was both glad and surprised when Kimono Ken was still open at half past 10 in the evening. I just got from the school fair and I was craving Japanese food.

We ordered Philadelphia Roll (P250), Fried California Maki (P180), Katsudon (P220) and of course, our favorite Spamaki (P140). The katsudon was a little disappointing because pf the small serving size and the thin pork cutlet. All the rest that we ordered, I really liked. 128077

Just had our merienda/early dinner.. The Chahan rice is really delicious especially when paired with tempura. Tofu steak is also good, fresh tofu with a very nice tasty sauce. The staff are friendly and the price is just right. And they are open even during off peak hours.
