JAPANESE RESTAURANT I THINK ITS 3 OR 4 STAR JAPS RESTO BUT FOR ME THE TEMPURA EBI IS VERY POOR IN QUALITY AND THE SHIRASHI IS NOT IMPRESSIVE IN TASTE WELL AT LEAST THE EGG ROLL IS GOOD . MAYBE THE OTHER DISHES ARE GOOD!

My sister and I together with my soon to be brother-in-law had lunch date with our mom last Sunday at KIMPURA to celebrate Mother's Day. 127801🇯🇵

Full house and we waited for about 5 to 10 minutes to be seated. The waiter served the Free Kani Salad (Mother's Day Promo) for our mom while we take our orders. We got the following Japanese dishes for our lunch:

Chirashi (Vinegared Rice Topped with Assorted Sushi) - 1108811088110881108811088️ 5/5

Gyudon (Beef Bowl) - 1108811088110881108811088️ 5/5

Tempura Moriawase (Assorted Seafood and Vegetable Tempura) - 1108811088110881108811088️ 5/5

Yaki Gyoza (Steamed Dumplings) - 1108811088110881108811088️ 5/5

During our visit, the staff accommodated us well. They served hot tea, drinking water and changing our plates once we were done. 128077🏼

Definitely I will going back again to Kimpura (one of the best Japanese Restaurant in the metro). 128521🇯🇵

Why I didn't rate them 5 star?

Service: I normally go to their Greenhills branch where the service is fast. But this time we went to Trinoma. We had to wait for at least 40 mins before the chef for the teppanyaki table arrived. When we asked why it's taking them too long to serve us, all the waiters could say was "Magi-in na po sila" where clearly they re-open at 5:30 so they should be all logged in before that.

Food: We ordered oysters, steak, prawns, ebi tempura and chicken rice.
Everything tasted great (as usual)!

Tips:
-Always ask to sit on the teppanyaki table to have that extra thrill of watching your food get cooked
-I normally drop a small amount of Kikkoman in their tempura sauce cause I find it too sweet.
-Ask for tutong when your fried rice is prepared and top it on your cooked fried rice (or you can just eat it like eating chips). It's the best!
-Let them know if it's your birthday they normally give free desserts

Good Japanese resto! Food is delicious and service was good. We got gyoza, miso soup, seaweed salad, salmon & cheese sushi, tenderloin yakiniku, beef teppan, shrimp tempura, chicken karaage and seafood fried rice. Value for money.

Father"s Day yesterday and it was full house EVERYWHERE!!! Decided to have an early dinner and arrived at 6:15 or so but the place was already packed with a waiting list 128563 Good thing they still had a table for 2 available...

They started off giving out a glass of complimentary Saki Lime to all the adult male guests and also a souvenir mini Swiss Knife thingy 128079🏼

Every time I hear Kimpura, I feel its synonymous with great Japanese food and service...they've already established that reputation throughout the years, So imagine my disappointment last night...128529 Food was mediocre and service was so slow! Granted it was Father's Day, but they should have anticipated the volume of customers and taken steps to ensure the same quality of service. Anyways, here's what we ordered :

- 128070🏼 Matsu Sashimi @1,500+ 128561 -- All imported.. True, it was fresh but such a highway robbery! I certainly expected more pieces and variety 128531

- Ebi Tempura @68+ per piece -- since the regular order is 8 pcs. - the shrimp was small and thin, puffed up by batter 128531

- Gyoza @150+ -- 6 pcs of perfectly fried pot stickers with thin wrapper and yummy filling 128077🏼

- Kani Salad @185 -- so ordinary both in presentation and taste 128529

- Chawanmushi @75+ a cup -- hot Japanese egg custard, this was good and fairly priced IMO, just a little salty for my taste

- Coffee Jelly @95 -- pretty good with a scoop of ice cream and cherry on top 128522

Orders took about 30 or so minutes and calling a server was a challenge 128514 Even paying the bill took sometime... Moral of the story? Stay home on holidays...or celebrate a day earlier 128541

Not the best place in terms of entertainment value but the service was excellent. Had the Philadelphia Roll (P320.00), Seafood Rice (P198.00), Mixed Vegetables (P195.0) and Kobe steak (P2,520.00). The roll just had too much rice so it really wasn't that authentic. One the most expensive but delectable (soft/chewy) steaks this reviewer has tasted. The rest was good.
