Katsu? I haven't heard of it until early this year when we tried Kimukatsu at Bonifacio High Street.

We went there around 6 in the evening and the place is a bit empty, only two tables were occupied. We're lucky because it's not crowded that time.

The ambiance of the restaurant is peaceful.
You'll see the elements of Zen design on their interiors, Minimalist and Subtle.
There are sea of Japanese Lantern Lamps that give warmth to the place and perfectly blend in the dark wooden walls of the restaurant.

What we ordered for appetizers are the following:
Japanese Potato Salad - My taste buds hate it.
Calamari - Plain and Simple.
Miso Soup - It's free and unlimited. It's good!

For main entree, we ordered some of their Katsu sets. An order of Katsu set includes unlimited cabbage, white rice, miso soup and pickles

Creamy Spinach Katsu - Instant Favorite!
Negi Shio Katsu - One of their Premium Katsu Set.
Black Pepper Katsu - It's a hit for me as well.

Their 25 layers of mille-feuille katsu is divine. The meat is soft and flavorful. Price is reasonable for the quality of food that you're getting. I'm glad that i had my first katsu here in Kimukatsu, delicious and authentic.

Unli rice and unli miso and cabbage? Why not. The restaurant manager even kind enough to give us free dessert 128513

I've been reading some reviews about Kimukatsu being better than Yabu so I gave it a try today with some of my friends. I ordered the "must try" cheese kimukatsu according to their menu. It has more cheese than Yabu's so I'm giving 1 point for it. But Yabu's bigger and there is no unlimited fruits that's why 1 point goes to Yabu. All in all, it was a tie. Lol 128514

We went here for a katsu night, and order the following:

Kurobuta Kimukatsu - i love this one, as its juicy and tender, best while its still warm.

Ebi fry - a bit expensive for 130 each but nonetheless with its own white sauce that taste like potato it was good.

Kurobuta Tenderloin - im a bit disappointed with this one, not as tender as i expect it to be nonetheless it was okay. 128529

Salmon Katsu - This was exceptional, its better than their other katsu, pinkish with somehow rare on the middle while its fried on the outside, reminds me of a perfectly seared salmon.

Matcha Parfait - was a bit smaller than the one shown at their menu, mochi balls was somehow hard while the chestnut looks oddly preserved in yellow. At 230 each its up to you to decide if its worth it. 128522

Rice was of good quality as always.  Miso soup was surprisingly good on this visit, especially the white while red is somehow salty as usual.

Interior of this place was nice.

I'm initially going to give this 4 stars but i have to commend their excellent customer service on this visit, we felt that we were given VIP like service in which im not asking for, but somehow it contributed for a 5 star experience.

Best katsu and curry katsu restaurant. They have a different way of making their katsu as well as making sure they're juicy.

Try their katsu curry! Guaranteed super good. They also offer two kinds of miso, the regular and the red miso (stronger version)

So this place is like Yabu and i really can't tell much of their difference. I guess their sauce? They have this set that includes unli rice, unli cabbage and unli miso, where you can choose between red and white. Definitely preferred the white since the red miso is saltier and tastes meh, i just don't really like it. I ordered theie kimikatsu tamago don, cost 330 which is a very big serving considering it already have egg and katsudon. It's also part of the set so you get the unli everything also (egg not included). I didn't get to have a refill since the order itself is already big enough. Would definitely recommend the place if you want a decent katsudon meal.

P.S. They have service japanese tea. You can choose if you want it cold or hot128522

Cheese Kimukatsu was our favorite! This is a katsu place that is at par with Yabu but way cheaper :-) We also adore their miso soup.

Best katsu I've had so far. We got the Original Kimukatsu and Black Pepper Kimukatsu. You have a choice between white miso soup or red miso soup. The white one's the usual miso soup you get in any other Japanese resto. The red one's more flavorful but I still prefer the white one.

The katsus are very tender and flavorful. I like that they already cut the katsu into squares. The black pepper version is studded with black pepper. It's not as spicy as you'd think but it's great. Just maybe a little nakaka-ooh my for me. So I few bites are enough for me.

But I love the original kimukatsu. Will definitely return for more! 10084

Ate here before with friends then ate here again today with my husband and daughter, katsu is still good BUT we're not happy with the service. I asked for a bigger plate for my daughter the waiter didn't come back for one. We asked another waiter then she advised they don't have a bigger plate (just the small one), so we asked if we can have the square one (the one for katsu), the waiter left and never came back! If they don't have an available plate or they can't give us one, at least have the courtesy to inform the customers

I ordered the kimukatsu topped with creamed spinach and bacon set, and loved it a lot. It came with unlimited rice, miso soup, and cabbage. Even without the tonkatsu sauce, it was already tasty. Love it to the last bit. Ended dinner with me being so stuffed with all that I ate.

My current favorite place 128513 Love the food, the ambiance, the customer service...and the price :)

PS - I find it better than Yabu (the meat and rice). Yabu has a better cabbage salad dressing though 128513

I've been eyeing this Katsu restaurant even before it opened in Highstreet but I should have stuck with Yabu 128532 The katsu was just okay , they don't serve fruits, the miso soup was not as good as Yabu's and the katsu sauce was too sour. I will never go back again.

I looove their katsu with cheese! 128523 On my second visit, was still full so I opted for one of their desserts -- Macha Parfait (Green tea ice cream, served with red bean paste, chestnut, and shiratama). I enjoyed every bite errr... slurp? 128515 the green tea ice cream's richness is just right! Yum! The serving though was quite small for its price (230 php), you really have to take your time and enjoy it to the last scoop 128522 The servers were courteous and attentive too.
Oh yeah, there were mosquitoes inside the resto then but one of the staff "took care of them" 128515

We requested to be transferred to another seat coz there are lots of mosquitoes sucking the hell out of us. 128533 Food was great but nothing special. They offered unli rice and cabbage but when we asked for more cabbage they forgot to get back at us. Quite disappointing.
