Staying at KL Tower Serviced Residences comes with a complimentary breakfast at Kitchen 1B, which is located on the right side of the hotel's lobby. Kitchen 1B is a chic and modern restaurant that offers American to Pinoy-style breakfast. We ordered Tapa Flakes, which tastes so flavorful and Bacon. Well, breakfast wouldn't be complete without bacon, right?

The breakfast also comes with unlimited garden salad that you can customize based on your preferences from their salad bar. Juices, coffee and milk were unlimited, too!

Glad that KL Tower Serviced Residences tie up with a restaurant that offers gluttony dishes and not a so-so menu to make up with a 'complimentary' breakfast.

Mark O and I just chanced upon this restaurant, its sign says organic food, healthy and all. Since we want to start making healthier choices with our food intake - we went in! For starters, tomato soup. And then mango bbq chicken for main, plus mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries on the side.

The soup tasted healthy but not that appealing to the taste. It takes some getting used to, and i think i can taste some celery-ish thing going around somewhere. The chicken was well-marinated and tender - i really like it. Sides were great too. Overall, i think it is a good place to dine in but it's not really remarkable. Just in case you're in the area, and looking for something new - then yes, give it a try. 9786

I thought of having a starter for my main course & I regretted it 128517 I ordered Grilled Prawns & Cauliflower-Turmeric Rice (shown in the pic) and was surprised or should I say disappointed with the very small serving size, considering it costs P450. The dish was a lot smaller in person. It tasted wonderful though128077🏻

Carmen's Best Salted Caramel Ice Cream I ordered for dessert saved the day128539127846

Service was a bit slow. Food is pricey. This resto has a cozy ambience.

After a long drive we decided to have our late lunch here and reward ourselves.

I read a review from Edwin I so I ordered for poached eggs and kale on toast. It comes with goat cheese ricotta, feta and avocado mash, and multigrain sour toast. It was good and I felt full without feeling guilty haha.

We also tried their shrimp garlic pasta. If you love shrimp then you'll fall in love with this. But for me, the taste of shrimp is overwhelming.

We got muesli for our kid and she finished it quickly like ice cream. It was good, I stole a spoonful from her.

A bit pricey here but the food quality is worth the price.

Eggs Benedict with Salmon... again! This is my second day in a row to have this dish, but this time at Kitchen 1B. I found it a little too salty (too many capers?) and loaded with too much kale, way too much. On my first slice, I noticed some water being released by the kale. I had to claw a sizeable chunk from underneath the egg/salmon to keep this from becoming a kale benedict. I suppose it didn't help that I just had a really great version of this dish yesterday. On the food alone, I'd rate this just 3 stars.

I initially ordered a cup of Yardstick latte, which unfortunately wasn't available. Server recommended their Copaiba organic coffee which they can make into a latte. This organic coffee was mild, but with enough flavor that I didn't feel the need to sweeten it. Strangely, it reminded me of hot chocolate.

While the food and drink were just ok, I think their ambience deserves a higher rating. I came here on a Sunday brunch date with myself. I wanted a quiet and relaxed place nearby where I can have some good food (since I was too lazy to cook) and read a book in relative peace. They have a long bar where solo diners can sit comfortably. A Japanese fellow sat a few seats away from me reading a book, while another guy held a table all his own at a corner. Seems like this is a popular place for solo dining and I now understand why. So for those who are not used to eating alone but would like to try, I'd recommend you date yourself here.128522

On a side note, I saw Imee Marcos on my way out. Her plain clothed bodyguards were milling about the entrance. I counted about 4 of them just standing there judging if I were a threat.128517 I felt my steps quickening, but not before I got a good look at Imee. I must say she does look like her recent cover photo for that chi-chi magazine that has outraged a number of netizens. She looks good for a 60-year old. I suppose a celebrity sighting is an interesting way to end a date.

I really dunno this place and when we got inside, I feel like this gonna stretch our wallet because of the chandeliers around and the vibe is high class and the customers are foreigners (expatriates, I believe).

I ordered mushroom and eggplant lasagna with calamansi juice. My meal was perfectly cooked and since I'm a fan of veggies, I enjoyed the sourness of tomato combined with lettuce in vinaigrette. I feel like I'm eating legit lasagna though with a twist since the main ingredient is eggplant. Vegetarians will definitely like this dish but to those who are not, try their other best sellers.

My girlfriend ordered garlic shrimp pasta. I believe it's not an ordinary pasta since the taste of the garlic oil was prefect fit with the shrimp. I dunno what keeps this dish awesome but the taste will leave in your hungry mouth that you feel like you wanna order this again.

We ended up full in these highly cost dishes but we can say that the price is enough for an extraordinary taste of dishes. Good job!

First off, I have never had brussel sprouts, and I had the chance here. I therefore conclude: I don't like brussel sprouts. I finished off the cauliflower and broccoli, and tried the brussel sprouts twice, but it was not meant to be for us.

That being said, enjoyed my meal here. I had the lamb curry, which came with salsa, papdoms, and coconut encrusted plantains, plus an order of cruciferous vegetables (see above).

The lamb was quite tender and tasty, with the curry flavor not being too overpowering. The plantains were ok, while the whole grain papadoms were paper thin and very crispy. Not sure if the components worked well together, but I'm happy.

Had a cappuccino as an aperitif, and they serve coconut sugar as a natural sweetener. Pretty good.

Price is not cheap, but pretty good. Service is also excellent, ambience is quiet and classy. 128077128077

I ordered the baked walnut crusted chicken (php510) which I thought was so-so. Nothing very distinctive in terms of taste. Serving portion was substantial for me though, so that made up for the price tag a bit.

Service was pretty good, waiter was quite attentive, so I'll give points for that. I thought it was also pretty cool that they used tablets for their menu. Plus they have buttons on the table that you press if you want to call someone over - better than constantly waving your hand around trying to get someone's attention!

The food here is okay. Been here twice, which wasn't by choice. The menu is a little blah and a bit boring for my taste. It's safe, available everywhere food.

The ambiance and the service though was amazing.

That Mango BBQ Chicken was so good! And pricey. But so good! I liked that it was slightly sweet yet retaining that tangy BBQ flavor. And at this resto, I'm sure that the ingredients used are good for your body. 128077

Went to Kitchen 1b for some 'wholesome food', defined as food that your body appreciates or keeps you healthy. Ambiance was great. Bright, spacious, homey yet modern with big open kitchen, long cocktail bar, and colorful chairs ala Paul Smith covers and paintings that depict refrigerator doors. Ordered the lamb curry. Came in a nice presentation, but nothing really special in terms of flavor and spice. Or is this how 'wholesome' food taste like? Almost bland. And the price tag was crazy at P690! I certainly paid for the ambulance este ambiance and the organic, grass fed, free range, and what not ingredients!

Trying something different at Kitchen 1B. Pecan pie! And chocolate cake (with caramel sauce) at the back. 128523

The place is so cozy and quite which is ideal for intimate gatherings like couples dating 128522. I've heard that this is the sister of Apartment 1B so i had to try it. They offer healthy dishes from organic ingredients. It is a bit pricey but the food is really delicious. I've ordered the shrimp rolls and goats cheese salad for appetizer. And Grilled mango chicken for the main dish. Service was very good too. Overall i love the experience i had here but i would only do this again on very very special occasions 128522.

The fillet mignon was pretty good! It was pretty cool that they used tablets as menus but they still used pen and paper to take orders. The side dishes are pretty big so I couldn't finish the mashed potatoes I had with the steak.

Went there for lunch. Ambiance was great. No noisy crowd. No waiting in line. Service is awesome however food serving is quite small (good for 2/nax of 3 if with small appetite) but quite filling and really good!

I've eaten here three times so I figure I better looloo about this place so people know about it more.

I really like it here! This restaurant pays so much attention to detail. Moreso than any other restaurant I've been to in Manila.

Placemats are all different, with either the words "breakfast", "lunch" or "dinner". Waiters have aprons with words too, usually quotes on food. When you order a cocktail, it comes on a coaster that says "Keep calm and drink a cocktail". When you go for lunch, there is a wooden sign on the open kitchen that says, "Lunch is now being served."

Their menu is beautifully done and presented on an android tablet. You can swipe thru it and even see photos!

Children get their own "kiddy" plates and cups. Not the plastic kind, but nice porcelain ones. Of course, they also have their own kiddie menu. This kiddie menu is kid-friendly, yet stays true to the concept's gourmet, organic theme. Cornflake crusted chicken fingers with sweet potato fries for the kids? Why not?!

The restaurant is truly beautiful. Open kitchen, beautiful faux refrigerator panels all through the walls, open ceiling. It's warm and homey, yet feels very upper-crust.

All this attention to detail is the reason why I love this place. It makes me feel spoiled!

Now, the food. I'm not a foodie but I can give you my thoughts.

Food is generally a little on the bland side. I assume it's because it's supposed to be healthy. I'm cool with that tho, because everything I've tried tasted good despite of the lack of seasoning.

Their Monte Cristo sandwich (my photo) is done like a French toast. Soft and soggy with goodness (unlike the toasty, crispy, deep-fried kind) and full of tasty gruyere cheese.

I love their beet salad. I'll order anything with red beets and this salad did not disappoint.

Their onion rings are ok. I order this often because I like onion rings. I prefer a little more salt for flavor, and a hotter deep fryer for more crispness, but overall it's not bad.

My hubby likes their lamb curry. This one is quite spicy!

I think they make a good classic margarita.. That's always a plus in my book. Yay for margaritas!

They also have excellent desserts! We tried the pecan pie (delicious) and some of their artisanal ice cream. I highly recommend the burnt butterscotch ice cream. Truly divine. My hubby loves the cocovan flavor and swears by it.

Their food always has fantastic presentation too. Part and parcel of their attention to detail.

My one complaint, and this feels like a big one, is their music. Three times I have gone and all three times played the same playlist. That's fine.. Except I don't like the music. It's like elevator instrumentals. The bad kind. I literally cringe when I hear the terrible saxophone instrumental of Isley Brother's "Summer Breeze". That's a horrible saxophone cover! Not even like a John Coltrane kind if sax, but a toy Casio keyboard kind of sax. Sacrilege! Poor Isley Brothers! They deserve a lot more than a shoddy, midi-sounding saxophone instrumental. At the very least, play a Seals and Croft acoustic cover of it; or better yet, just play the original masterpiece that is the song "Summer Breeze"! (Sorry but this is important to me, as I love the Isley Brothers).

I recommend more upbeat acid jazz for lunch; proper jazz classics like Thelonious Monk and Miles Davis for afternoons, and back to acid jazz instrumentals for dinner. The possibilities are endless. I feel that with better music, this beautiful restaurant can be where I drink my afternoons away while munching on sweet potato fries.
