What's deep inside Chino Roces is this Karrivin Plaza which may be a considerable place for foodies to visit soon. Kitchens Best which was previously located at the facade of the Plaza, is now replaced by BDO, hence the former being relocated inside the plaza.

They have just reopened not long ago after its renovation, and it is my first time to go here. Red with white linings is the main color of the place, very elegant with matching chandelier. It was lunch then so it did not feel that dark or heavy. I believe it would be more regal in the evening.

What sucked in my experience is the ambiance-- thanks for the lifeless dead air, the noisy servers, the grumbling chiller and the loud talks of some customer, it made the ambiance like a cheap air-conditioned canteen if it's not because of the soft cushion sofa and the beautiful white table and its set, it could have been worse. 128204 beef belly usda
3-4 slices of a bit tough beef belly smothered in really good red wine sauce. The rice was just ordinary. The sauce really saved the dish. The belly cannot be cut by the knife so i have to pit everything in my mouth and chew.

One holy thing here is their CR. Seriously, ambiance at CR is really different. Another is their function room. Consumable of 5000 for 3 hours use, it can accommodate 25 pax. They have tiffany chairs and the ambiance (since the lights were dimmer) (3rd photo)

... Hmm.. Low 3 here. 128512

I always order the 40 cloves chicken and macadamia cheesecake for dessert. Their chicken empanada is divine.

One thing I hate most about chicken meals--they're usually dry. When I visited this restaurant, I asked the server for any advice on which I should order. 40 CLOVES CHICKEN, he said. I had to ask if it's the dry type and he said it's not. Trusted him and he didn't lie! The chicken was so tender and flavorful. The olive oil and garlic combination was soooo good.9786

40 cloves chicken, but I counted only 20 128515 Kidding aside, this place is just alright with food that reminds you of home and the best serving of banana toffee pie this side of the town. Tucked in a quiet and almost deserted compound of buildings in Chino Roces, the place is very unassuming. It's just that it is popular from among the people who work around the area that it was able to pride itself as the last man standing in what used to be a place where Terry's and other shops used to operate.

I like going back to this place. I have yet to overcome my fascination for the taste of their 40 cloves chicken. The meat is so tender, the olive oil is oozing with flavor, and well, the garlic (all 40 cloves of it hahaha) contributes to the overall exotic taste of the dish. Throw in dashes of Tabasco sauce and I guarantee that you will be able to finish it under 10 minutes. I'm a slow eater so 10 minutes is deemed extraordinary short time for me.

The waitstaff are very friendly and since we came on a weekend where there's only few people, we had the chance of indulging in small chit-chat with them.

I highly recommend this place whenever you find yourself near the area and don't forget to order the banana toffee pie if you fancy desserts like I do.

Haven't tried this Resto in ages! Happy to see they're still alive and kicking even if they moved to the back of the bldg. it didn't stop them though, the place was packed in minutes 128077

I absolutely love their interiors. I'm a sucker for the color red and old vintage Victorian feel shiz. I love how chic yet simple it is. 128077

Onto the food, loved everything:
✔️ house salad
- it had adobo flakes and a roasted sesame dressing. It was good
✔️ pumpkin soup
- the flavor was just right and the consistency was perfect. The bread that came with it was awesome too
✔️ 40 clove garlic chicken
- chicken pressure cooked to perfection. The garlic and olive oil flavor penetrates right to the very center and it was simply delish. Loved hoe you can place the bread on the garlic olive oil and it tastes awesome.

Their desserts are awesome too (they sell sa power plant bakers bazaar during the weekends) but we couldn't handle to eat anything else. We were stuffed.

Good food and food service. Will definitely come back 128077

How will I start reviewing again when you know that you just have to finish your backlogs and no more next food adventure for you? 128532

Ang sakit! Daig pa iniwan ng minamahal sa sakit. Lol!

Anyway, on our way home a while ago, I got hungry but i can't eat too much even enough. (Kill me now please 128299128299128299) Decided to dropby KB because we can't think any resto that I go in and eat "healthy arse food 128078"

I didn't look at the menu. I just told the waiter "CHICKEN BREAST PART ONLY PESTO PASTA"

Turned my attention into different things so I would be tempted to order more.

I didn't finish it because as I see the calorie count of it, hayyy! Oo, kailangan ko maging calorie count conscious ngayon hanggang matapos ang mala-hell kong buhay. 128532

Infairness, this pasta is good. Kung di lang importante tong mala-hell na to di ako susunod eh. 128532

So guys, alam na kapag di na ako nakakareview 128541 Pero ako pa? YODO! You live everyday but you only die once 128540

Our team went here for a celebration and got their function room. It was a big, red, victorian-inspired rectangular room that can house 40 guests. We were all fascinated and felt like royalty.

Appetizer:
We got the bestseller, the chorizo dip and the spinach dip. I liked the spinach dip better, it tastes like pesto, only its thick and creamy. Both were a bit sweet.

Salad:
Oh i loved their house salad! It was a mixture of lettuce, tomato and cucumber with asian soy dressing. But what got me hooked was the home-made macademia brittle. This is the first time i had this in my salad and i swear it just became my favorite. It just kicked the salad up a notch! Truly unforgettable! Twas heaven in every bite.

Main dish:
I ordered their baked salmon florentine, it was a think chunk of salmon sprinkled with herbs on a bed of spinach. It was good! You could taste everything. The ingredients complement each other, enhancing the whole dish. You just have to take it all together. Better than Conti's baked salmon! Oh and it goes so well with the rice.

Dessert:
This dessert swept me off my feet! they have the best turtle pie I have ever tasted. After my first bite, I wanted to buy 1 whole! The sweetness just bursts in your mouth and lingers there like candy melting on your tongue. Its sinful, hypnotic, addictive, i am obsessed. And the crust, i have no words to describe how good it was. All i know is I want more!!!!

Took an awful long time for lasagna to be served. And it's taking an awful time for it to cool down so it doesn't scald.

The place is quaintly located at the last building in Karrivin Plaza and could be hard to find if you're not familiar with the area.

YAY: Deliciously cooked to perfection comfort food.

NAY: Price is a bit up your daily budget but as the cliche goes, quality comes with the price.

Tip: Get their signature 40 clove garlic chicken and you'll most probably be a regular.

There's also a branch in Mckinley area but im not sure if the taste of the food there remain faithful to the original.

40 Cloves Chicken, ahhhyeahhh! I heard they do good desserts too. If you're looking for a place to hide, this is it. Homey but in an elegant sort of way, it's nice to know that a charming little place like this still exists in the CBD. I'll be back to try some more.
