K&L aims to bring Baguio city closer to Manila as they are featuring fresh products made in Baguio at their cozy place along White Plains in Quezon City. You can find your favorite Ube jam and Strawberry jam by Good Shepherd here, as well as handmade economic products such as walis tambo and other crafted products. Not just the goods, but also, they are featuring these products to some of the dishes they served.

I’ve been to Baguio once but never had I explore that much due to time constraints. And luckily, I got tagged along by Kim Bryan L of @eatsFoodPh, together with other foodies, to experience Baguio City by trying out specialty dishes by K&L cafe!

It’s been raining all-day when our group came in, so I decided to try their coffee. I got the Hot Latte which features Sagada dark roast coffee bean. It’s definitely one of the best Latte I’ve tried, it’s pretty strong but it’s smooth and doesn’t have any aftertaste. The way they prepare Latte was also quite different which I wouldn’t mind especially if it’s as good as this.

For the starters, we had the Session Salad with Strawberry winefrom the Salads selection which consists of sagada oranges, cucumber, croutons, candied nuts, and feta cheese on top of the bed of greens. I’ve always loved salad with fruits as it somehow overrides the “greeny” feels of eating a salad. I also love the dressing which has some hints of sweetness.

Next we had Burnham’s Grilled Butter corn and Mozz-HAM-rella sticks. The grilled corn was good and it comes with a dip and mozzarella on the side. Mozz-HAM-rella sicks are deep-fried mozzarella cheese sticks filled with ham. I enjoyed this as the sticks are loaded with cheese and chunks of ham, and the saltiness is just right!

Then we tried the Dilis & Champorado which is basically champorado topped with dilis. It’s creamy and not too sweet. The dilis gets along really well with the champorado which is pretty good!

For the Pasta, we tried the Longganisa Locale Pasta which features Vigan Longganisa which has that garlicky taste that I also like. It’s actually my first time to try a Longganisa pasta and I really enjoyed this one. It’s an oil-based pasta which I think perfectly highlights the garlicky flavor of the longganisa. Spaghetti pasta was firmly cooked as well.

Of course, our visit won’t be remarkable without trying out some of the so-called K&L specials such as the Sinigang na bagnet sa strawberries, and the signature family recipe Lola Nena’s Adobong Puti. I haven’t tried the sinigang but I got to try the Adobong Puti which got me really curious because I’ve never tried it before. Basically, it’s your adobo but take off the soy sauce and let the garlic-vinegar mixture put the medley of flavor to the dish. I quite liked it although it’s a bit too sour for my taste – well, that’s just me.

For some sweet endings, they served us some pastries. I got to try the Red velvet cupcake which is moist and sweet.

For the place - it’s pretty much like what you’d love to go to when you wanted to chill while having a cup of coffee. The lower level has a bright ambiance with some nice interiors, while the mezzanine level was pretty laidback and has a more intimate vibe which is ideal for those who are working remotely or studying.

Overall a good experience and would love to go back for more especially the coffee. If I were to pick my top favorites from the food we had, l’d pick the Mozz-Ham-rella sticks, Longganisa Pasta, and the Dilis & Champorado.

Thank you K&L cafe for having us try your food! Shout out to #eatsFoodPh for tagging us along!

I always admire restaurants who stick with Filipino dish for their main menu. I somehow feel as a consumer that I helped in promoting our own legacy. Filipino dishes are good that it can suit any taste buds, I think. 128522 I was initially invited by K&L Cafe by Blushing Cafe to try their restaurant. Later on we agreed that I'll invite some friends to try it too. Well, our visit is pretty much amazing. We don't need to travel all the way to Baguio City just to satisfy our cravings for dishes from the Northern part of the Philippines. At K&L Cafe, the Fresh ingredients and products came from Baguio and the Northern Part of the Philippines. They put together unique menu with a twist on your usual Filipino Favorites. You'll notice there's Baguio Feels in every food that you'll order here. They have a very cozy place that will make you want to stay for your me time. Its a nice place to study or just read your favorite book.

As for the food, prepare your taste buds for an amazing twist that you haven't tried yet. I love their Sinigang na Bagnet with Strawberries, the kick of strawberry is a good addition. As well as the Lola Nena's Adobong Puti, not your typical adobo that's all I can say. Their Session Salad is also good very generous serving. I also loved the Champorado with dilis chocolatier with the Tablea! The Burnham's Grilled Butter Corn is a good snack too! They have a lot of choices such as Coffees from Sagada, Chocolate Tablea drinks, Pizzas, Pasta Dessert, Filipino Rice Meals etc. One thing's for sure, if you're in Katipunan this place is a must visit. 128522

Nothing has brought Baguio this close to Manila than K and L Cafe did. Dining with them feels so much like I was in the mountains again! Their food is amazing and you could really tell the difference because they’re using freshly farmed ingredient from Baguio.

If you have not been to Baguio yet, this is definitely the closest experience you can get, promise! They’re located along Katipunan Ave. in Quezon City.

Aside from the good food, K and L Cafe would also make you feel relax because of their home-like interiors and very friendly staff. Everyone smiles and is quick with every request we had. I’ll definitely recommend this place to those in need of relaxation and comfort. It feels just like home.

The prices are very competitive which ranges from 100+ to 200+ with a few items over 300+. Serving size is generous. Place is very accessible. Lots of parking slots available. Clean restroom.

Aside from these, the friendliness of the staff and the owner of the restaurant (which happened to be there when we visited) was just really amazing. We felt like we’ve known them long before the visit. 128514

Good food won’t take you anywhere without the perfect treatment and attitude from the staff. I must say that K and L Cafe did good in selecting their people. 128076🏻128076🏻128076🏻

Here’s my top picks:

-Burnham Grilled Butter Corn-
Corn is something you can just boil/grill and eat in itself because there’s already the flavor and sweetness without adding to add anything more. K and L set the bar higher by serving it with parmesan and melted butter! The sweet and salty combination was really really good!

-Longganisa Pasta-
There’s quite a lot of longganisa pastas out there but this seems to be the only that perfected the authentic Ilocos Longganisa taste in it. Not sweet, very garlicky, and with a little crunch in every bite! Literally simut sarap.

-Session Salad with Strawberry Wine-
Very light, no strong tangy taste, has sweet elements in it, and comes with a bit of crunch. It has everything I look for in a salad. It has no cream! 128588🏻

-BAGNET Rice-
It might be weird to order just rice when you eat out but this one will definitely make you reconsider if you even need to get an ulam to pair it with. It’s tastes so good and the topping is very very generous.

-Champorado-
I’m not a fan of champorado. I just don’t get it. Rice and chocolate? 🤷🏻‍♂️ But hey, I love it now! K and L’s version of champorado with milk and crispy fish is just so good! There wasn’t only a contrast in taste and texture, but also the temperature. I suggest you to request for cold milk instead. Sarap nito, promise.

Overall, K and L is one of those restaus I would consider going to whenever I need some boost from a long and gloomy day. They’ll take care of you here.

128149Date for Two: Ultimate Red Velvet Pancake
128140Total: P299

Overall: K&L Cafe aims to bring Baguio here in the metro. Once you visit their resto, you will feel that homey vibe in the middle of White Plains. If you remember Blushing Cupcakes, they are the same owner of K&L Cafe (owners are very friendly and hands-on to their business). So, expect tasty cookies and cupcakes. Now, we’ve tried something new – the red velvet pancakes. The pancake itself is just okay, just a regular one colored in red. Haha! The cream cheese frosting is very delish though! It’s so heavenly good! 🤤 And yes, one order is already good for two as it’s really filling.

Value for money: Kinda expensive for a pancake. But the ambiance is worth it. Best to try their cupcakes, they’re more worth it.

Sinigang na Bagnet with Strawberries has my stamp of approval! Although I didn't really chow on the strawberries, I liked the flavor it gave the soup 128523128523 Plus loved the big serving, could be good for sharing!

And French Vanilla latte remains to be a favorite of mine, iced or hot. 128076

Discovered this gem of a cafe by chance. The window display drew us in and it just so happened that there was an empty parking slot.

We weren't very hungry as we had late breakfast. We wanted finger food but the Ilocos Bagnet was too tempting to pass up. The giant chunks of crunchy pork were heavenly. We loved the tomato salsa and vinegar dipping sauce too. The rice wasn't that bad haha

The Mozz-ham-rella Sticks were huge as well. Cheese was generous but I could hardly taste the ham. The dipping sauce complemented the crunchy snack. The dish was nicely plated.

The Strawberry Calamansi was refreshing but sweet. They had other interesting drinks as well.

We weren't able to have dessert but looking forward to that on our next visit. There are several entrees that I would like to come back for. Bumped into our cousin of Ilocano descent and he highly recommends the Adobong Puti. He works from here in between meetings.

This cafe also sells Baguio goodies like Mikasan Choco Flakes, Good Shepherd products and other local items. And yes that walis tambo is for sale too!

It's always a good time at K&L. I've been a solid customer ever since their Blushing Cupcake days.

Today we decided to go for the Garlic Porkchops with brown rice (PHP200++) and I had iced cappucino (PHP95).

The Garlic Porkchops were good! I love the marinade and the crispy garlic bits on top. I think it's the first time I ordered this (new addition to the menu also) and it definitely won't be the last!

The cappucino was a bit strong (even tho I like black) but it's alright.

Ordered a slice of Red Velvet (PHP105) to go. Hi hi hi!

Service as always is a 128077🏼128077🏼

Breakfast is always a hearty one here in K&L. Log Cabin Breakfast is one of my favorite dishes to share with my mom! We just had this to start our food-filled day yesterday.

It's a mix of savory and sweet flavors. Savory from the corned beef hash and nicely cooked scrambled eggs. And sweet from the toast that you can smother with butter and strawberry jam. Not so sure what kind of bread they have, but it's soooo good! It also comes with some lengua de gato on the side most of the time. 128076

From 7am-11am each order also comes with a free cup of brewed coffee. It was bad ass (in a good way hahaha) I would've gotten another one, so my mom and I could have one each, but we ended up content with just one to share.

Now that's a busog lusog breakkie!

I used my buy 1
Take one pasta
And ordered the buffalo wings with blue cheese dressing. I had the tomato, capers and olives pasta ( i opted to omit the feta) and the
Bagnet pasta... They were all quite good. I gave them a 5 for the overall experience. It"s my second time here and so far service had been very good (despite no service charge), food was good, and prices
For food are down to earth.

The unhealthy but happy choice! K&L's Ilocos Bagnet is one of the best out there! It's a combination of crisp and juicy, which I think is how bagnet should be. Medyo melt in your mouth pa yung taba! Plus the tomato salsa is a refreshing and flavorful side. 128076

Hayy I have so many backlogs for this place and their food, I would probably reach 30 reviews! Hahaha I can't believe K&L has been in business for more than a year now. The place still looks new and I'm always still excited whenever I choose to dine here! Sana forever na ito! 1008410084️ hihihi

Just when I thought there is an overload of all day breakfast restos, here is k&l giving me a hint that I should come back again and again. With exemplar service and good comfort food why not. Coffee was free they said I dunno if it was for first timers only (they know who their regular customers are 128517). I liked that their Vigan /Baguio Longanisas taste authentic. I should come back for the bagnet looks hefty in serving size and crunchy. Ambiance is laid back and relaxed with little trinkets to remind you of Baguio.

Their maple iced latte was great! Better if it were cooler, and with more ice. 128513

Tasted their tapa and longanisa from my mom and Tita's order; and it was good too. :-)

I'd just finished another work day at Cubao when I decided to embark on another foodventure on my own. This was how I stumbled upon this place along Katipunan.

I entered and was greeted by cheerful staff. The establishment has two floors and is made up of both modern and rustic feels. When I swung by last week, there were Halloween decorations including cobwebs, etc. hanging on the walls and such haha.

Apparently the K and L stand for Karen and Loren who are sisters and hail from Baguio. This is why the menu and the stuff they sell within the restaurant (including strawberry wine, jams, etc.) is very Baguio.

They serve rice meals, pastas, pizzas, drinks as well as cupcakes from Blushing Cupcakes (also theirs). I decided on Daddy's Bourbon American Ribs at 295 pesos and their strawberry calamansi drink (95 pesos). I also got a red velvet cupcake for dessert. The ribs was a big slab of meat smothered in barbecue sauce, served with red mountain rice and corn and carrots. Super tender and melted perfectly in my mouth. I also loved the flavor! Unfortunately, it was also oily and fatty, I began getting torn between finishing it because it tasted so good or stopping since the oil was getting too much to bear. I'm really glad I had the strawberry calamansi drink, though. The flavors blended nicely and produced a zesty-sweet refreshing drink. Finally, the cupcake was great! Moist and not overly sweet. A perfect ending to any meal.

This place was great and I'd love to come back soon to try their other food offerings. 128515

I left the reception at Bettys' past 1pm to meet with my best buds at SPi Mandaluyong. I felt guilty for making them wait for hours so I decided to pay for their lunch. Tuwa ng mga bruha!128513

I wanted them to try Eat Fresh Famous Hong Kong Street Food kaso sarado. Hashtag Sunday and Intsik. We drove to Katipunan from San Juan to try Old Oven Art Café. Sarado din! Hashtag Natakot kay Lando naman.

|ooloo to the rescue! K&L Cafe by blushing cupcakes is a few walks away from Old Oven. Reviews are good so I told them to fill their tummies here.

I followed Theresa L'a review and ordered Chicken Cordon Bleu and Daddy's bourbon american ribs. I was still full from all the food that I ate from Betty's so I only tried a small piece from their dishes.

Both were served with mountain rice. The chicken cordon bleu was yummy! The creamy sauce hits the spot and I liked that it's topped with crunchy bacon.

Daddy's bourbon american ribs is a clear favorite. The first thing I loved about the dish? walang lasang bumbay! Hooray!128582🏻 The meat was amazingly tender, well seasoned and the sauce was sweet and finely tuned. Not to mention the size! It was so worth it for almost 300 pesos.

I'm rating five stars for saving my friends from hunger and for the delish and affordable food. K&L Café definitely deserves a second visit!

Because my husband saw K&L featured on TV recently, he dragged me all the way from Parañaque to White Plains to visit and after being stuck in horrendous traffic for 2 hours, I was really looking forward to sampling their grub.

We had their tapa, chicken and mushroom, salad with strawberry wine vinaigrette and a slice of red velvet cake for dessert. Was it worth the butt-numbing journey? Sadly, no. While the food was reasonably-priced, beautifully presented and the portions generous, they were all ordinary fare. Taste-wise, I couldn't really find anything that stood out or made the dishes uniquely delicious - not even the peanut brittle in the salad.

But, I must say, they are right on the mark when it came to providing a "place where you can step back for a while". The wooden interiors and quirky decor gave the restaurant a very relaxed and homey vibe. I haven't been to Baguio in over 20 years but this place really did make me feel like I was back in the city of pines.

Service was chaotic though. The wait staff, while courteous and welcoming, seemed confused with what they were doing. More than once did the same server ask us if our orders were complete. After answering her twice on what was missing, my husband whipped out the receipt in case we get asked again what else was left to be served. To think there were less than 10 people in the restaurant at the time.

We would like to go back to try the red velvet pancakes and some of the other items on the menu - but only if we're in the area.

I've visited this place so many times, that's how much i love their food :) on my most recent trip, i ordered the longganisa up north for bfast :) the longganisas were cooked to perfection and the suka matched perfectly with the garlicky longganisa! :) the mountain red rice a winner for me too!

Also ordered their iced vanilla milk, which is a personal favorite. For dessert, i had the red velvet cupcake. The quality of the cupcake was excellent given the affordable price :) also a must try is the pastillas cupcake which i bravely say is better than Slice's. Sagada coffe was a thumbs up too.
before leaving, i got cinnamon roll (P30) and ensaymadas (P50 for 2) to go. They didn't last long at home, masarap! Connamon roll was not sweet and ensaymda was buttery and cheesy.

The owners are very warm and kind. Knowing that we were regulars, they gave us free cupcakes :)

Tip: they give free sagada coffee when you dine in from 7-10am :)

Can't wait to go back here soon! :)
