It's been sooooo long since I last wrote a Loolo review! Been quite busy lately...

Anyways, I was seriously craving some Korean Food. That's what made me "kulit" my family to come dine here. This place has been around for such a long time. Before all those smaller Korean Restaurants started popping out this was already famous!

We ordered a ton of food! Pajeon( onion pancake), dumplings, beef stew, bimbimbap, chicken bbq and so much more!!!!

My fave was their Chicken Bbq. Very juicy and flavorful! Ahhhhhh! I'm starving again while writing this review! I also love their Bimbimbap! Yummmy!

The staff were attentive. The food took some time but it was worth the wait plus you have some appetizers to munch on while waiting...

Korea Garden Restaurant has been serving authentic, traditional Korean cuisine long before the Korean wave arrived. Probably one of the oldest Korean restaurant in Metro Manila. It has a family restaurant feel.

I went down to use our Deal Grocer voucher last weekend for the dinner for two and as you can see from my pictures our meal is epic!

The food came out quick and it came out amazingly delicious! Everything was cooked perfectly and all were very satisfying.

My favorite was the Braised Beef it was super super tender falling off the bone with their traditional sauce, swimming in a rich dark sauce. Yum!!!

The Beef Stew is best enjoyed with plain rice, the varying hints of flavor make it an interesting dish on its own. Makes me think that their blend is already heavily adjusted to the Filipino taste.

Definitely going back and recommending this place. Korea garden is highly-recommended for groups who are in for a round of delectable Korean bites or for first timers who wants an unforgettable first experience. It may look like a fancy restaurant at first but with its affordable food everything is perfect.

It's been a long time since my last visit. What was I thinking? Or not thinking?

We had the classic dinner. Appetizers plentiful. The beef stew still the best. I poured the sauce on my rice bowl. The beef was so soft and tender.

Could've had more chapchae. Never enough. And octopus was delicious, just like I remember it.

The beef bulgogi was a bit dry this time but the flavors were still pronounced.

And the waiters! Old men who know their craft. It has been quite a while since I was given this top quality service and attention.

You must must must revisit this place.

Winner of this year's Manila's Best in the Korean restaurant category. If you are looking for fine quality Korean food, this is the place. I personally like the taste of Kaya more, but Korean Garden has more finesse, better plating and better ambiance.

I am a bit disappointed with my first visit to Korea Garden. I ordered a daengjang jjigae, which was pleasant tasting, but there are small details the restaurant could address.

First, the positives (+)
- Really attentive service. Your teacup nearing empty? They're at it (without having to ask). You drop a chopstick? They have a new pair ready.
- Very clean conditions in the dining room
- Free pineapple slices for dessert

Now, the negatives (-)
- 3 side dishes for one person is on the cheap side
- Prices are much higher than other Korean restaurants (tho service and cleanliness are better here)
- Normal spoon is offered. At least use the long stemmed Korean spoon.
- My soup didn't come in a traditional stew bowl that keeps the soup hot

Despite this, I'd come back to try some other dishes.

We used our Deal Grocer coupon for this meal.

First impression of the place/ ambience: Feels like an old, stately old-fashioned restaurant. Well-lit, clean, red carpet.

Food: now, it gets really awesome. We were served free appetizers: kimchi, spinach, those small crunch fried fish (dilis?), tofu, pickled vegetables. Everything was good. Had the beef stew (amazing), spicy octopus (not that spicy but it was superb since the octopus was really tender and cooked well). We also had the beef bulgogi. Great flavor and very tender. The chapchae was ok, fried dumplings were good, but a bit too ginger-y. Fresh pineapples for dessert. We were happy gluttons.

Service was efficient, and water was diligently refilled. Kind service staff. Great service overall.

Classic example of "Do not judge a book by its cover." Place looks old from the outside, well and inside, but this is Korean food at its finest (one of).

We ordered their Korean Dinner. It says its good for 2 but it is actually good for 4! Must order and must try if it is your first time here. All of their best sellers captured in this meal. We love their beef stew and chap chae! We will definitely return here.

BIBIMBAP! Such a fun name! This dish is a staple in every Korean household because it's easy, convenient, and its an all-in-one meal.

It was served in what they called dolsot- a stone cauldron, to keep it warm. Once served you mix it right away. This bowl is such a visual treat because of different colors of vegetables. I was told that the ingredients were cooked separately to maintain the color and flavors. It's a bowl of balanced flavors and texture-- sweet, spicy, salty, tangy, crunchy, chewy and melt-in-your-mouth goodness

What I love about this dish is it's customizable. You can request for little rice and more veggies; fried or the traditional over-easy egg; mild spicy to inferno hot.

Although bibimbap is already a complete meal , I still like pairing it with a kalbi.

mashisseoyo!

I don't think I've enjoyed eating at a Korean restaurant this much. See, I live at this condo just a few blocks away and I've always seen this resto from the outside. The sign is dingy and dirty and looks aged. (I've always imagined it to taste like how it looks--)

Imagine my surprise when I entered the restaurant and was treated to a brightly lit interior, with gleaming floors and tables! 128551❗️

Anyway, we ordered the spicy octopus, which everyone always raves about, some kimchi fried rice, samgyupsal and the most delicious dumplings I've ever had in my mouth. (Dong Bei not withstanding)

The fried rice was okay and the samgyupsal was a bit tough. The spicy octopus however LIVES UP TO ITS NAME. It's the softest, yummiest, spicy-sweet octopus you will ever have. In your life.

(Pro tip: if your samgyupsal needs a bit more flava' smother it in the spicy octopus sauce. Mmmm. Warning, extra rice is in your immediate future.)

My πŸ’―th review! 128077128079128076128516128513128522

For over 20 years (i feel like some intro to a powerful commercial) i kid you not, this restaurant has been a staple for our family. Once a month, this is the chosen venue for either lunch or dinner picked by my angkong. It may seem like a cycle, but more often than not every visit is enjoyed.

Let me provide you a list of our "usuals":

βœ… Beef Stew 127775127775127775127775127775 by far the best i've ever had among all Korean restos available! It's sweet & spicy, so tasty it can never do without rice!

βœ… Beef, chicken & shrimp bulgogi

βœ… Beef Kal Bi Tang when we're feeling healthyish 128540

βœ… Fish Fillet 128077

βœ… Jap Chae

βœ… Spicy Squid (attached photo) this is a personal favorite. Can you see why??? 128525

May it be dine in or take out, the quality remains with every bite. More so, their ever growing variety of appetizers never fail to satisfy me. 128077128079
