Kota Park or also known as “Lawis” to the locals has nothing much to see, but worth visiting. The old Kota Fort was built in 1790’s.

Old structures, beach front and the long strip of boardwalk over the sea. It was low tide when we visited the place, but it did not ruin our day. Because of the low tide, the beach seemed like having a little sandbar. Great photo op during sunset due to its very nice background. Who would have thought that this place was a cemetery before? Yes, in 1890’s to 1950’s the whole place was used a cemetery. During the 2nd World War there were some Japanese soldiers captured and executed by the Lawisanon guerillas and buried outside the Kota. (***excerpt from the History of Kota written on the entrance)

I’m pretty sure tourists are not allowed to swim here since we saw some "dikya” or jellyfish during the walk, though you can rent a bike and go around the place while waiting for the sunset.
