I still can’t believe it that I never noticed Kulinarya Kitchen before. When I saw it, I uttered, “Hey, new restaurant! Let’s dine here!” not knowing that this restaurant has been around for quite some time now (or so what my officemates told me).

We were like a bunch of curious George(s) reading the description of the dishes we fancy. What caught my eye was the Herb-Crusted Lamb Chops, PHP 525. (SPECIALTY ALERT!) It was a bit pricey so we had it split into two.

We also ordered Cream of Squash Soup, PHP150 (SPECIALTY ALERT again!), Crispy Chicken Fingers, PHP 240 (as we are French fries lovers) and a pitcher of their house iced tea.

The Cream of Squash Soup arrived first and it was… okay. It was not the type that will make my small eyes bigger but it was good enough. It was creamy and most importantly, it tasted like squash… not water or bacon… but 100% squash.

Next served was the Crispy Chicken Fingers. Served with mushroom gravy and white sauce that tasted like sour cream and onions, it is the perfect meal for the little tykes. Crispy and yummy! (By yummy, I do not mean that it way better compared to the chicken tenders of Tender Bob but it was of the same level).

Finally, LAMB CHOPS. Well, the photo makes it look like the serving was extremely stingy but we had it split into two. The creamy mushroom risotto complemented the lamb chops really well. The lamb chops were tender and were seasoned just right. It was one delightful dish.

Since we Filipinos love desserts, we ordered Suman Latik Fritters and Mango Flambé, PHP180. It was a wrong choice for we were very full already. We just wanted something sweet to cap off the meal. In the end we didn’t enjoy it. It was good but there was just no more room for it. (Plus the mangoes were a bit sour.)

I will definitely go back for more of Kulinarya Kitchen’s delectable dishes. I noticed that they also serve margarita. Tempting. 128525

The salmon Sa Japanese miso was awesome! Playful taste that's a must try.

The grilled chicken adobo is yummy for the price it has. Really worth it and a little more.

Ordered the three cheese margherita pizza which is cheap for its yummy taste.

Awaiting the brazo de morena, and I bet it will be yummy too!

At such an early hour at 7:00 pm, this restaurant is no longer offering salpicao, pork chop, fried chicken, steak and other main fare. So disappointing. No wonder there were many empty tables.

For starters, get the Crabstick & Mozarella Tempura. It's highly recommended. Same with the Seafood Salad Maki. The Salmon in Japanese miso would be a good main, but I was a bit disappointed with their Roast Beef Kare-Kare, same with the Salpicao.

BACKLOG. 128513

We got lazy to cook last Noche Buena so we decided to buy party trays.

Kulinarya's ' seafood salad maki (1,500 pesos) was one food that came to mind and we ordered a day in advance. You need to deposit 50% though to secure your order. Apparently, they had an incident before where someone ordered and didn't push through with it in the end. And the chef ended up paying for the trays. 128532

Everyone loved the sushi!
This is good if it's still crunchy. 128513 let them know what time your event is so they can make it an hour befor you pick it up. 128522

We initially planned to have my birthday lunch at Apartment 1B in Valero, but due to sudden change of plans, we went straight to Rockwell. No idea where to eat so we just ate at the first resto we saw. I had to quickly browse reviews and blogs about Kulinarya to check food recos. Most of them said food was good. Ok then, let's give it a try. 128522

Service was kinda slow despite having a few customers dining that time. The place looked a bit old already compared to those beside them, and the lighting was dim which made it look sad and boring from the outside. Harder to take nice photos too.

128031 Grilled Asian Salmon- the salmon fillet was big. They served it with oyster sauce, lemon butter sauce and veggies. I liked the lemon butter sauce more than the oyster sauce which was too salty.

128055 Herb Porkchops- my sister loved this. The porkchops may not be that thick, but she liked that they grilled it properly. Instead of beer gravy, she requested toyomansi as her dip. The parsley butter rice was surprisingly good according to her.

128032 Tuna Belly- dad got the set with rice, Asian Slaw, grilled tuna belly, mini turon and iced tea. The set meal was sulit for its price.

127812 Crabstick Salad and Fresh Mushroom Soup- mom opted for a salad and soup for lunch. The salad serving was small. It was just okay.

Overall, food was okay but not memorable. Nothing special, IMO. Or maybe we ordered the wrong stuff?

Ordinarily, I don't seek out Filipino cuisine when dining out because I have that almost every day for almost every meal at home. We chanced upon Kulinarya as the first restaurant we noticed on our way down, and because Ramon L and I haven't tried it before (apart from it being one of the few restaurants that weren't packed on a Saturday evening), we decided to give it a go.

Apparently, they serve Filipino fusion cuisine. I have my doubts regarding fusion cuisines, but it was a welcome decision at the moment. For our appetizer, we ordered the Crabstick and Mozzarella Tempura (Php 240), which, on their menu, is classified as a "bestseller". We also shared the Roast Beef Kare Kare (Sharing, Php 495) - because who doesn't love roast beef and Kare Kare? -, and two cups of Steamed Rice (Php 50 ea.)

Kulinarya gets plus points for creative plating in my book. Their menu was intriguing, but the food was all the more enticing. The crabstick was cut open, filled with mozzarella, hugged by a strip of nori before it was deep-fried to perfection, and topped with more strips of nori. Although I'm not entirely sure, I think the sauce was a mixture of Japanese mayo and mango sauce. It was good, but I wouldn't order it more than once at a time. I don't normally go for tempura because it tastes and feels oily almost all the time, and theirs was no exception. It wasn't ~that~ bad, though. It was more bearable than most.

With heightened expectations, I looked forward to my Kare Kare, and I am so glad to say that it did not disappoint! I dare say, it was the best Kare Kare I've tried outside of my house! Tender US Angus Shortplate in their classic Kare-Kare sauce, with fresh green vegetables (the string beans were knotted! It was so cute!), and served with their bagoong. It was perfect, and I made a mental note to request for Roast Beef Kare Kare from the maid at home. I'd say that the sharing size would be good for 2-3 people already. They also offer a solo order, by the way, and it already comes with rice at only Php 280!

Service was great. Restaurant was clean. My and Ramon's stomachs were happy. We had 0 complaints. I'm already looking forward to going here again. I had my eye on their newest item, Shrimp and Bacon Gyoza, and their Sriracha Chicken Poppers... Mmm.

this has been my go to place whenever i crave for great food. the white cheese pizza is just mouth watering because of the fresh dough that they use and the cheese is just delicous, the asian salad which has a perfectly grilled chicken is just so appetizing and combine that with the fresh lettuce, kani, carrots and tofu chips i think with vinegarette which makes it a perfect combination, the gamberi pasta is something that would satisfy your palate because of the special red sauce and the perfectly cooked pasta and gambas and lastly the seafood maki roll was more than what i imagined a california maki would taste like just delicous and crispy. i give them 5 stars because food is wonderful, place is clean and cozy, price is just right for the great food and the serving is more than adequate. highly recommend this place if you want to impress your date with great food and place but easy on the wallet.
