We were just walking along the main road of Boracay when we came across Kulpy Chicken. Situated quietly along the tricycle route, we almost didn't notice it. I was skeptical to try something new, but I was hungry and wanted something fast.
In we went and saw a simple counter and small dining area. The menu offered different sauces and sizes for the Korean fried chicken. Swayed by the name of the restaurant I chose the Kulpy sauce in a small size because I had no idea if I would like it.
Behind the counter was some NASA-grade-looking fryer only Koreans could have made. Needless to say, that's what they used to fry my chicken. In a few minutes they served my chicken poppers drizzled with amber-colored sauce in a small paper cup. I dug in with the supplied barbecue stick and LOVED it.
A word of caution to those reading this review. I love fried food. Fried chicken is my best friend. So I could be biased here. But I really did love the texture and flavor, and the sauce was perfectly sweet and spicy. Kulpy Chicken was a good fix for merienda, but don't expect anything grand!
