Have you ever eaten so much, you thought you were going to die? That's what happened to me when my friend, Bethel, treated me to dinner last time we met. It was actually his birthday present to me when he failed to buy me a gift even after spending two hours roaming Lucky Chinatown Mall. There were three of us, me, Bethel, and Dan. They asked me where I wanted to eat, I told them I was craving for bulalo so we picked a Filipino restaurant. That's how we found ourselves at Kuse. Now on why Bethel ordered a set meal that is good for 10 people is beyond me. What did we have?

The set meal that we ordered came with Ensaladang Talong, Kare-Kare, Chicken Inasal, Crispy Pasta, Pancit Canton, and Pinakbet.

I was like, WTF? What is this, the last supper?!

If you are in a big group or a Survivor contestant who has just left the island, or about to be executed, the set meal of Kuse is for you. You get to taste different foods and spend only 1 or 2 thousand pesos. I didn't get to eat everything in one sitting, but I sure loved the fact that we had take-home food that lasted for days. I was beyond stuffed.

I don't really know how to pronounce this restaurant's name! I think it's <kuhsee> Haha! But i found their food quite good! My boyfriend and I were walking around the Lucky Chinatown Mall and we were looking for a new place to dine. I mean some place where we haven't tried before. When we got around a corner of the third floor, we found Kusê and Uncle Cheffy. We looked at Uncle Cheffy's menu and found some good stuff we wanted to try like their pannizzas, baby back ribs, baked oysters etc. We were about to enter the restaurant when the lady waiter led us to the entrance of Kusê instead (apparently both restaurants were adjoined). Then upon entering, we discovered that Kusê had a buffet (I'm not sure if they have it everyday or just that night). My boyfriend asked how much their buffet was. It was P295 per person. But I saw a sign saying leftovers cost P395 per plate! Haha! Anyway, we sort of had a dilemma for a moment. Whether to take Kusê's buffet or order what we originally wanted at Uncle Cheffy. We only had about 30 minutes to eat before we watch Dawn of the Planet of the Apes on cinema (which by the way, I really enjoyed watching even if my boyfriend says the story was so predictable) haha! So we decided to take Kusê's buffet because the food was ready to eat and it will save me more money (since it was my turn to pay for dinner that night) haha! Now here's the food review at last! They had plain rice, fried rice, vegetables, chicken, meat, tahong, boneless bangus, a variety of pastas, ensaladas, and gelatins. They also had fresh squids and a variety of fishes which could be requested to be grilled and cooked. Sadly, I wasn't able to take any picture because we were in a hurry to catch the movie on time (picture above is from the internet). What I liked most from their buffet were the pesto pasta and grilled squid. Nothing really special about those though. I just like them in general. ;) I'm sorry I don't remember names of the food specifically. Hahaha! I'm not so culinary inclined. I just eat and only take to heart those which I really liked. 128541128513

Merienda timeeee! And first restaurant at my sight: Kuse. Don't be surprise if the staffs hand you Uncle Cheffy's menu together with Kuse's. It is like two restaurants in one: you can actually cross order! :)

Had the Banana Langka in Filo (in short Turon) with caramel sauce! It did satisfy my appetite. Caramel is not too sweet which makes you want to have more. 4 star for the turon.

Have yet to try other dishes!
