late lunch. the place and its ambience is good. you'll feel how the old english men would take a break because of the furnitures and the paintings on the wall..

but the starving tummy i got, i seriously hated their service. oh c'mon, we went there around 2pm and there's no other customer, but they accommodate us like we are some of their usual clientele.. folks! we're new in the place so you should give your best.. but as much as i hate to admit, their food is good. uggghh

hate that i like it the same time.. #foodtrails

Vigan visitors often mistake Kusina Felicitas with Cafe Uno and Uno Grille. Though the restaurant and cafe connect, the three are totally different entities, but still be able to order from any three. One thing they have in common is the three have the same owner(s).

Kusina Felicitas, located inside Grandpa's Inn, offers authentic Ilocano dishes from bagnet, a local and non-local favorite, to the obscure like baradibod. Not only do offer Ilocano dishes, the also offer Filipino favorites as well as Asian. This is the perfect place to experience the taste of Vigan.

What I had ordered was their bagnet and lumo-lumo. You cannot leave Vigan without having bagnet. The crispness of the skin, the tender meat dipped in Ilocos vinegar with garlic, or bagoong with onions and tomatoes; how can you pass that up?

Lumo-lumo, a light soup dish usually served for beakfast, consists of pork parts, heart, meat, brain (optional) with loads of garlic and chives. This dish is very delicate, aromatic and very delicious. This is best served with a fried egg. Trust me. 128513

Going to Kusina Felicitas is an experience on its own. Its beautiful interior of original bricklaying and custom wooden furniture, hand made by Vigan wood workers, go hand in hand with the authenticity of the food that Kusina Felicitas offered. To experience Kusina Felicitas is to experience Vigan.

Happy eating!!!

Thank God for Looloo that we found this place. For our meal for 4 (Php 795 in total):

Pinakbet with Bagnet 127814127814
-it tasted really good, but was too salty and oily for my family and I (Dad's Ilocano and can cook a hella pinakbet). Maybe because pinakbet itself is already a bit salty and paired with the bagnet doubled the sodium chloride content.

Poqui-poqui 127814127814127814127814127814
-Love, love, love!!! You can taste the grilled eggplant without the burnt taste and pair it with the other ingredients of eggs, tomatoes, and onions. 10084

Thai Kangkong 127814127814127814
-love the spicy-ness? :)) but I've been to Thailand so this staple dish had too much oil and the black beans added too much saltiness

Vigan Longganisa 127814127814127814127814127814
-I wanna buy some more for pasalubong...for myself. That's how much I love it. Partnered with Sukang Iloko, and you're in heaven.

Freshly Brewed Lemon and Lime Ice Tea 127814127814127814
-too sweet from the syrup. :c it was nice once Mama diluted it with 1/3 of water.

Everyone must try the Felicitas Soup! It's a mixture of pork, beef and quail eggs with bits of Miki.

Like any other Filipino restaurant, their breakfast meals are composed of fried rice (locally called kinirog), egg, viand and a choice of coffee or tea. I was so psyched to try their famous Vigan Longganisa. As expected, the longganisa was more flavorful than the ones being sold in Manila.

For my drinks, I added P50 to upgrade my coffee/tea to Native Tsokolate. I was disappointed to see that it doesn't have the same quantity with the coffee (to think I even paid for an additional). Nonetheless, I loved their tsokolate. It had bits of tablea in it - giving the impression that it's not made from chocolate powder milk.
