The best scallops I have tasted. I've been to many restaurants and can't help compare.

Well the restaurant was nice and clean , modern looking ... The staff were efficient and friendly , the prices ok . Those count for the two stars .
But the food ! Ermagerd please transport me to Dencio's , Gerry's or even Giligans instead....
I don't know if we just made the wrong choices ..,
Grilled scallops. - thus was ok , small serving but ok
Bulalo- bland , small portions of tough meat , bland soup ! Tasted like dishwater compared to Kusina Uno and Marjo's .
Fried catfish - fried well but bland as the bulalo soup, pero malansa sa loob yechh
Binagoongang baboy - forget this . was too alien to appreciate some chops floating on some pinkish oily tasteless slurry , i shudder to think of it.
Inihaw na belly - thus was ok tasty but was 80% fat , Fat and more grilled fat . Ok sana kahit 50% fat pwede na since belly naman. Pero 80% fat is a bit much , pwede namang piliin sa palengke yan , pareho naman ang presyo . Tamad ang namili ng karne nila . Sayang yung timpla .
My daughter and sister hogged the creamy corn n crab soup, so that must have been good.

So sadly our first visit to Kuta J will also be our last ...

I like the idea of pinoy food served in a fine dining setting. My company and I ordered the sinuglaw, lechon kawali and pancit canton. The sinuglaw was served as an appetizer but I actually think it's better to served as a main dish to be eaten with rice. I also thought it best that they dice the sinugbang baboy and mix it in with the kanilaw. Perhaps I am partial to how a Dipolog restaurant serves it but I just think it's served better that way. As for the lechon kawali, I like how some parts were crunchy but I've tasted better lechon kawali in other places. The pancit canton was good especially when you sprinkle calamansi juice over the noodles. In terms of service, the staff were really nice and were thoughtful in explaining any short delays.
