One of the best halo halo for me smooth milky ice with generous serving of ingredients plus its very affordable, only 99 pesos. We also orderd their crispy pata and pinakbet both were delicious. Will go back for their halo halo. Perfect this summer.

I was going to rate 5 star on the ambiance and location especially when i try their Bicol Express but i notice there's only 3 piece of pork and it was too pricey for 290php. Please correct me if i am wrong, what is the original bicol express? Is it pork with veggies or veggies with some pork? 128546 too bad because the gata really taste good puro sitaw nga lang. 128078🏼

Unhappy with my Kuya J experience. It is so unlike Jericho was talking about in his commercial. The "must try" sinuglaw didnt live up to its expectation. Aside from two limp fried kangkong leaves and a few slivers of inihaw na baboy, the kinilaw was swimming in mayonnaise making it too rich for the palate. The sisig tasted like asado and is so unlike the many sisigs i have tried. Nakakasawa! Finally the fried catfish had too much breadimg. It tasted like cooking oil and not fish. The distinct chewy flavor of the catfish is already missing. Bottomline, I did not finish my meal.

After doing the grocery, we found ourselves hungry and since it was past our dinner time (it was already 8pm), we decided to try Kuya J's.

The first thing we noticed was that the place was jampacked! So our expectations shoot up because we though the food was terrific since it was crowded.

So we got the best seller sisig with egg (spicy) and adobong kangkong.

Sisig with egg (spicy) 1108811088
Considering it was their best seller, this dish is too disappointing. The meat was hard, the sizzling plate wasnt hot enough to cook the egg thoroughly, and to top it off, it wasn't spicy at all. I had to drizzle hot sauce to make it spicy.

Adobong kangkong 110881108811088
It was just ok. It's your typical adobo. Nothing special to it.

Service 11088
Too slow as we had to wait 30 minutes for our food to arrive! They should beef up their staff to be able to accommodate huge crowds during peak hours.

Price 11088110881108811088
Very affordable! Our total bill was only P390 and we were stuffed! We didn't even finished the food.

I could suggest you try but wouldn't recommend lining up for their food. 128522

I loved their scallops and grilled tuna. Perfect combination! I asked them to separate the chili garlic sauce of the grilled tuna since they usually put it as toppings but I ended up asking for 4 refills! It was that good! I looooved their scallops as well. Melted cheese plus toasted garlic. Super yummy!!!!! Their fresh buko juice would have tasted better if it was cold.

Pretty surprised about how good the food is.

Love the Tokwa't Baboy in Soy-Tuba Sauce, the Chorizo Rice, the Sizzling Sisig with Egg, Kare Kare Bagnet, and the Ensalada espesyal. Hunby raved about the Grilled Stuffed Squid with Barbecue Sauce (not a big squid fan e).

We also ordered the Relyenong Talong and it was just ok (it was more egg than eggplant and a bit too salty).

Service was also pretty fast, servers were always helpful and courteous.

After our grocery, Mom told us just to have our lunch here. She said this restaurant is very popular in Cebu. 128522

At first I was kinda judgmental when I heard about it. "Kuya J". I was thinking of a crowded, smoky resto. When we entered, all my impressions were wrong. The restaurant looks like... A milktea place. 128514 Soft chairs, bookshelves, and glass tables.

We ordered the ff:
Baked scallops - 128525 I love this! Cheesy and crispy!
Crispy dinuguan - its ok, but Bagoong Club's is better 128513
Mixed seafood sinigang - Very tasty; salmon, shrimp
Rellenong (?) talong - A scrambled egg and eggplant that uses shanghai-like sauce 128522128076
Grilled belly - juicy 128076

Everything we ordered is just around P1.2k. I love this restaurant now. 128522128076 Waiting time for the food is 15-25 minutes.

Are you craving for Crispy Pata? Well as for me, my cravings won over my "diet ritual". if you are looking for a new filipino restaurant, you should try and visit Kuya J located in Hypermarket Pasig! Tried their Crispy Dinuguan P195 and Crispy Pata around P495!! 128077
