When Kuya J's SM BF first opened. We were first in line to try them out. I was not impressed. I find the servings too small for the price. The chicken was smaller than the spring chicken of Tropical Hut. Fast forward to 2016, I was intrigued by the their halo halo commercial and print ads. True to its word, it was smooth and creamy than any iced dessert i have tasted. I decided to give their dishes another try. We find their serving and service in this particular branch vastly improved.

In this visit, since we are with kids we tried thwir adobo sa mangga and pansit canton and both dishes are quite good. The adobo complimented well with the sweet sour taste of mangoes. The saltiness of the sauce makes you eat more rice (not a good thing) but really hits the spot. The pansit is really tasty too. The kids loved it.

Service was quick and efficient. Place was clean and had good ventilation. Senior discounts are honored.

Was looking for real ulam, something savory last Thursday, so we went to the only place non-fastfood local cuisine in BF mall. The place is packed! It was sooooo loud inside and there were an abundance of servers. Had the pork belly, but it was too small so we added Lechon Kawali (which is just Bagnet, since the sauce was placed on a different saucer). Their garlic rice tho is love.

I never knew Echo can cook. Haha. This is perfect for family gathering, especially when you have balikbayan. Because they serve Filipino cuisine and they serve it big. Food taste's fine. I mean, iba pa rin lutong bahay haha. But close enough.

I was having a good time. The food was great. Pinakbet tasted the way it should. The rice platter was huge for the price, not bad :) caldereta was tasty, really liked it.

And to be honest, my past visits to this place resulted in great food.

But then we had to ask our food to be packed for takehome 4 times. Why?! Waiters just told us after we made the request to wait. Oh well, would've given this visit a 4. But yeah service was not excellent this time around.

Mom's so enticed every time she sees Kuya J's tv ad. So when my brother knew that they have a branch at SM BF, he suggested we have dinner there after doing some Christmas Shopping.

At around 7pm on Sunday, the restaurant was full; and we were on the waiting list. Turn around was fast and we were seated after just around five minutes. We ordered Crispy Kangkong (enjoyed this the most, but the dip was bitin), Mangga Tuna Salad (128077), Adobong Mangga (so so, but the mango slices are ripe and fresh), Sisig (i like the carinderia sisig we buy near our place better), and Bulalo (the meat was black that my mom thought it's carabao meat). Nothing was superb, all were just ok. Nothing special on their menu. Nothing that tastes extra ordinary.

Would not probably come back any time soon.

Their specialty Kare-kare is the bomb. Good ambience, unique interior, and clean. Everything and everyone is nice. Walked out with a satisfied and full stomach. Visit Kuya J's! ♡128076

We ordered Barbecue Liempo, Adobong Pusit, Kare-Kare, Crab Meat Rice and Pancit. Its a Filipino based Restaurant with a twist.

I really enjoyed their BBQ Liempo, the barbecue sauce was good. Did I mention I ordered their unlimited rice for a good price of 60 pesos. 9786

Their Kare-Kare was really delicious too, probably one of the best I've ever had (not exaggerating).
Most of the time you add bagoong to your kare kare to add taste, but Kuya J's Kare Kare can stand alone itself. Its sauce is very tasteful.

For first timers you'd probably think that this place is too pricey because of the servings of each dish. But as you enjoy your food (and I know you will) you would think that its all worth it 127860128077🏻

Staff here are really attentive and friendly.
Kuya J Restaurant, SM Bf branch.

Will be coming back here soon for sure 10084

Filipino comfort food with reasonable prices.

Service is ok but sucks during a full house.

Try their crispy pata and adobong pusit.

Forget the pancit ...i warned you!

Had an early lunch here with Mary Rose L and her family. There wasn't a lot of people when we arrived.

Ordered sisig, gambas, kare kare, pancit and deep fried chicken. I didn't try kare kare so I can't actually say anything about it but my companions liked it.

The star of the meal was their sisig since everyone liked it even the kids. We ordered it "less spicy" (you can choose the spiciness level and they'll ask you). It was still spicy though. It's also a little bit on the crispy side so I liked it more.

Gambas was good too. You can really taste the butter which is what I liked about it.

The pancit and chicken were normal though. Nothing special. But it's okay if you just want to have variety of dishes.

Their service was also great. It's a big deal to me that my glass gets refilled without me asking, and they didn't disappoint.

I'll definitely go back here! 128522

We ordered Crispy Pata and Pinakbet for our late lunch. We also had unlimited rice for P55 if I am not mistaken. The Crispy pata is indeed crispy. I love their sauce that is different from the others that I have tried. My husband also loved the Pinakbet.

The staff are very warm and approachable. They are very prompt refilling our rice and even volunteered to cut our crispy pata.

The price is appropriate and affordable.
