Their bestseller stardust pistachio cake is a disappointment. Seems like it's an old stock. Its not spongy at all. The hot choco is too sweet. Service is slow even were just 2 sets of customers that time. Interior should use warm white bulbs for their lighting to create a more cozy ambience. It's like I'm in a hospital cafeteria.

This is the perfect place to hangout, whether solo, a date, or with friends. They offer alot of menu like pasta, burger, frappes, coffee, and even rice meals. The price is in midrange. Not too cheap but not too expensive. This place reminds me of Vanilla Cupcake shop's design and interior. The place is comfy and relaxing, considering that it is located just beside the main street of Laong-laon. It also faces a lot of flower shops too. So after dining there you may consider to look for some flowers to buy to. I posted here the Black forest frappe I ordered. It was actually nice. You'll taste a chocolatey-coffee flavor. At a price of 120-150 you'll enjoy a Venti size (starbucks size) of their frappe. It's a cool place to go to. :) #loolooexplorerpackgiveaway

Hubby brought me to Dangwa to get the flowers that I have requested to decorate our home. It was convenient that time since we were coming from the north. We went by each corner and street, each possible vendor, surveying the place and the flowers being sold as well as the prices. I wanted to get a lot at the best price possible. I was given the authority and independence to get what I wanted and haggle away as I pleased. After a good 30-40 minutes, I emerged happy and satisfied with my purchase. Husband, then, spotted a cafe that looked liked it came out of nowhere and was just placed right there in the heart of the flower market. It looked so out of place but yet so fitting where it stood. It attracted me, I must say. A good cup of coffee won't hurt after all the walking and talking that I did.

We found La Taza. Adorned with a shady tree, lush potted greens, wooden fences and even lamp posts, it was such a breather to see a cafe that celebrates nature. The entire cafe was washed with white paint making it such a great canvas for bright colored interiors. Most of the tables were white, each with a colorful tile on top. The chairs were of different colors and types too. The minimal splash of colors gave this cafe it's lively character.

We weren't really hungry when we got there. Checking their menu, we got the following ---

Ice blended drink for the hubby. He's such a fan of mint + chocolate so this was a no brainer for him - Mindanao Mint Mocha Coffee. It was chocolaty, with a strong mint flavor that blended well with the coffee. You'll see specs of mint leaves in this drink. Looked like they blended the mint leaves together with the mocha. It was such a refreshing drink. What's interesting about this drink was it's spicy end note. Reminded me so much of Lindt's Chili Excellence Bar. It's true that chocolate goes so well with chili.

On the other hand, I got myself a good warm cup of their Latte. It came in a big cup with some latte art. I liked the bitterness of the coffee and how it was balanced by just enough sugar and made creamy by the right proportion of milk. Coffee wasn't too strong but got me all hyped up the rest of the day. By the way, they get their coffee from Coffee for Peace in Davao.

I also ordered for a Lemon Square to go with my coffee. The serving was too small I could just pop the whole thing into my mouth and we're done. But if I'm feeling prim, two bites would suffice. As soon as I took a bite, the softness of the lemon square got me. It was that of a melt in your mouth type, crumbly on the outside but moist and soft inside with lemon goodness bursting. But wait, the taste and quality was too familiar! I suspected right away that it was from Purple Oven and so I checked on the other desserts displayed in their counter and it was confirmed! The Oreo Cheesecake and the Rustic Chocolate Torte were the obvious ones since we've just had them a couple of months ago. I wasn't able to contain myself, though it needed no further validation, so I asked one of the servers if they get their sweet goodies from Purple Oven. Good thing I got an honest YES.

My daughter wanted some pasta that time and they only offered three - Lasagna, Pesto and Aglio E Olio. She opted for the Chicken Pesto. Good girl. They used Farfalle as the pasta and the little girl fell in love with it right away. The sauce was thick and creamy and it had just the right basil flavor. My only issue about this dish was the lack of chicken. It's supposed to be Chicken Pesto so I expected, like in any other restaurants, at least strips of chicken that's been grilled or steamed on top. Instead, we got really small strips of bacon that were almost unnoticeable.

Overall, it was a pleasant visit. The place was clean, servers were friendly and made sure we had our fill of water. We loved that we were able to relax for a few minutes before heading back to our regular grind. They didn't mind that we kept on taking pictures and that my daughter kept on moving from one table to the other while playing. The place dearly welcomes students too, allowing them to study and even use their laptops/gadgets freely. They've got charging ports and free wifi too. If I was still a student, you'll see me in this place regularly.

Disappointed. I was really excited to go to this place and try out their food. Finally had the chance to go earlier this evening. Initially, I was really excited to see their pasta menu since it is one of their major selling point (along with coffee and pastries and.... Flowers). So, we ordered chicken pesto pasta (150) and tuna melt sandwich (105?). Tuna melt came in first and It was quite tasty with all the fresh lettuce and tomatoes inside but this was more of ab appetizer because of its size. And here comes the boom. I ordered chicken pesto since I LOVE PESTO, but I received something like this. A creamy white pasta with chicken bits. I thought they have mistaken my order for someone else's and I asked the waitress if this really is their pesto and she said YES! I politely asked her where the PESTO went, she just shrugged and said that this is the kind of pesto that they are serving. Not an ounce of green herb was in my pasta (except for the pre-planned parsley, which I ate by the way so that i could just satisfy my need for a psuedo pesto effect). Not a happy diner indeed.

I am very disappointed with my eating experience at La Taza. The menu has only few choices to pick from . Also, the prices aren't reasonable. I ordered a cold latte that costs 120 pesos and it is bland, it tastes like it has more water than coffee and also the ham and cheese croissant that costs 100 tastes good but expensive for 100. I would rather go to Starbucks and get the perfect latte and my favorite pastry which is - cinnamon danish that only costs 65 pesos and a grande green tea latte that costs 160 which sums up for 225 pesos. The foods that I ordered in La Taza sums up for 220 pesos and was not happy with what I ate.

My friend and I spent our catching up date here in La Taza. It has a good ambiance and perfect for those who would like to relax and chill. The goodies we ordered met our expectations especially the slice of pistachios cake. I will definitely visit it again especially when my exams are near (haha) Well, I asked our server if I can stay there and study and she immediately said yes.

Pretty good place to study especially during the day when it's still bright and sunny. I love that they turn off their radio or put in really low volume when they see people studying. Plus plus plus for me! 128516

And a picket fence right outside the cafe completes the whole look they're trying to achieve. I hope they add fresh flowers inside though, since we're literally surrounded by beautiful flowers in the area.

Coffee tastes a little bland though, if anyone's more concerned about that than the ambience of the place.

A dainty coffee shop that is situated along laong laan. Loved the ambiance of the place. It provides free wifi and serves decent-tasting coffee! 128077 The place is small though so only a few people can be accommodated.

You must try their Pistachio cake! What I like about it is its bread. It's spongy and not too "heavy". I love its mixture of nuts and icing. Actually, i love everything about it! Haha
What are you waiting for? Go now and try this!! Btw, their cheesecakes are yummy too!
