Italian food is very popular here in Cebu, apparently. I've been seeing a lot of this cuisine even on the less city-ish parts of the island. And these are restaurant names that I have never heard of in Manila, but have more than one branch in Cebu. This restaurant is one of them. 128522

Located in Marina Mall, it is very accessible from the airport. The ambiance of the place is quaint, and rustic, a typical Italian looking restaurant. It didn't have the same aroma as other Italian restaurants have though.

Upon arrival, we were welcomed by one of their waiters, which we then realized after quite some time that he's actually the only waiter on the floor. 128514 He seated us and then took our orders. This was our team Christmas dinner so we wanted to order only the best foods, hence we asked a lot about chef's recommendations. But to our dismay the waiter didn't really have any opinions. "Masarap naman lahat, Ma'am", he said. Ngerk. 128517 so we just went with our guts.

Their food was steady delicious though. We were first served the complimentary Polenta Chips topped with Salsa. It was a nice starter, the chips were not heavy and the salsa was nicely seasoned. It's
Not the type of started wherein when you eat it, you tend to feel full immediately. 128077🏼

The Caprese was a bit of let-down. 128533 The tomatoes they used were just small ones, not even juicy. The cheese they used was the saving grace but other than that, we could have easily moved to entrees without it

Their pizzas were just good too. They weren't that great either. The crust was pain, mainly on the jaw. It was hard to chew! I dunno if it was just me, or my other officemates also suffered from it.

The pastas were a bit better. Not the best either, but quite tasty nonetheless. I still enjoyed them, but most of us on the team are foodies and we each had our own opinion on the food. 128517

All in all, I'd still come back, but only if I have to. As mentioned, there are more Italian restaurants in Cebu, and I haven't really tasted it to be bursting with flavors in here. 128514

This would hands-down compete with the best italian restaurants here in Manila.

It was our first meal of the day right after we landed and it was just pure breakfast bliss!

We were served the complimentary thin, crispy foccacia. It was the first time I saw and tasted foccacia like that. Thin, crispy, with olive oil and tomato on top... A marvelous first impression it gave!

And because it was so good, we just had to order another plate of that 128513

Then the others were served:

Pesto Pasta - purely drenched in pesto creaminess. It had that fresh, grainy, bitter flavor of pesto which I loved but I think it had too much oil. It was still good though.

Gamberetti - it tasted like Pasta Filipina, the one with the crabpaste as sauce. It was really good but very sinful. 128513

Quattro Stagioni - thin-crust pizza with four meaty goodness 128076

Prosciutto Mango - this is one of my favorites. The saltiness of the prosciutto married the sweetness of the mango and they lived happily ever after! Oh, and they had a caper kid which all the more made the food even more divine. 10084128076

Gnocchi- pasta made from potatoes in white sauce... it reminded me of the bilo-bilo in guinataan. It was good but not really a crowd-pleaser.

Capresce - another one of my faves! It's a salad. A team of sliced tomato, herbs, and mozarella. The layers of flavors complemented each element perfectly. Having it was refreshing and healthy. 128076

The food was great but i couldn't say the same for the service. The price was inexpensive for the quality of the food they serve so the less-than-excellent service was tolerable 128513

Everything was quite delicious but the capresce, foccacia, and prosciutto mango are the ones who made my dining experience here memorable. And it will also be the ones that will make me come back. 128077128522

Focacia - fresh and savory. Vegetable salad - can't get enough of the sun dried tomatoes. Sicilian cream dory - my 4 yr old said it tasted weird but the nori-like textured mashed potato it came with was super yummy. Lasagna - too much cheese and tomato sauce not enough pasta. 4 cheese tortellini - not enough, it was that good. =D Seafood pasta - worth the wait, and though the clams that didn't open was a bit off-putting. Overall was worth what we paid for and the service was nice. :) oops didn't get pics was too yummy looking to delay. ;D
