Very small airport, with no conveyor belt for the baggages and no waiting area. The ladies' restroom is neither clean nor dirty.

To get your baggage, you have to give your claim stub attached to the boarding pass to one of the many porters scrambling for your attention. The area where the airline crew unloads the luggages are gated and off limits to passengers. The porters will get it for you. The process is a bit complicated. Once they have the luggage, you can meet them at the side entrance. The guard will check and confirm if the serial numbers match (luggage tag tickets). I guess they're careful because Ozamiz is known as the shabu capital of the Phils, after all. I dunno if it has some connection.

Ozamis Airport is reminiscent of GenSan airport. Small and provincial but considered an international airport. The view, on the other hand, is spectacular!!!! It's like landing in a forest! Lol! Lots of palm trees! A huge mountain is seen! Downside, there isn't any luggage belt. Porters swarm the area where the luggages would be placed. If you don't ask you'd think you cannot get your stuff without having to pay the porter. My advise? Wait til the crowd dies down and go inside where the porters are to get your bags! Never give them your claim stub if you don't want to pay! Another good side, someone is assigned to check if you got the correct luggage!!

I visited this airport and was disappointed that they don't even have a conveyor. The person will slide your bag on the floor and you have to yell when you ask them to get it. This was a very disorganized airport. I hope they fix it since Ozamis is a nice place. :-(
