Its more than 9pm and craving for soup noodle and xlb? This is the place. Their xlb are inconsistent but thank goodness tonight it was okay. Though there seems to be 1 pc that had its juice on top meaning its already pierced. Juice inside gone 128547 but the beef noodle at 148 is not bad. 128522

1) Xiao Long Bao - it's cheap but it tastes like heaven.
2) Open 24/7 - I swear, Makati needs more 24/7 options. I was so happy when I found out this place is open in the wee hours of the evening/morning.
3) They deliver - unfortunately though, only within the vicinity as they only use a bicycle. I live along Makati Avenue and they don't deliver here.

BTW, they've changed their name to 'Lao Beijing', so this is the sign you will see outside the door. Don't get confused, it's still the same restaurant. :)

Few years back, we used to hangout here for some quick fix of xiao long bao *xlb or pork dumplings but change of work location makes this place a distant memory until i saw a review yesterday that brings me back to this simple restaurant.

This place is located at GF of cityland condominium along buendia ave, the first thing i noticed is that they change their name, and its now called lao beijing, by reading the chinese characters it literally translate to "old beijing". Theres nothing special about this place, its the usual noisy, congested resto that are frequented by chinese nationals working at makati. Its menu items didnt change over the years but now it has pictures with it, hooray! How i wish the korean restos near burgos makati would take this approach.

So i order xlb of course, their approach to xlb is quite different, they used a thicker skin much like a dumpling skin, so if you want to be full after 8 pieces of xlb, heres the place. Im not an expert at xlb but growing up having chinese food everyday and tasted alot of good xlb abroad, i have a few takes on what makes a good xlb:
1. Must be freshly prepared.
2. Its skin must be soft and abit translucent, but not too soft that it would easily break. 128546
3. The rich broth inside.
4. Juicy and sumptous amount of meatball.

Xlb tonight was okay, 7 out of 8 still has broth inside, can you spot the 1 devoid of broth at the picture? 128518 i still think tonight was good, before there are times that 6 or 5 out of 8 still having broth inside. 128514

And oh by the way my order was mistakenly served to other table and because of that i was denied of xlb steam on face experiece. Grrrh 128545 and the minutes gone by when its still very warm. 128528

I also order spareribs noodle soup, which was also serve to nearby table, waah 128556 twice in a row. But then again this one was good.

Also noticed that they were having trouble handling street kids that were trying to get in and soliciting food from customers. I usually attend to my belongings in a situation like this 128529

I came back because i miss the food here and i surely will be back again, at tops i can give this 4 stars cause of the 'binondo' feel of the place and food, but ...... oh well, ill just let it rest at 3 stars for tonight. 128528

Loving their Xiao Long Bao and their Spicy Beef Noodle. Their Kutchay dumplings are a must-try too for your dumpling cravings. Best paired with Grass Jelly! 128077128077128077

After a tiring day, there's nothing better than to slurp a bowl of tasty Chinese noodles and dimsum that won't burn a hole in your wallet. Peace and Happiness is a good restaurant to deliver you just that.

We got the Beef Noodle in Chili Oil, Xiao Long Bao, and the Kutchay Dumpling.

The Beef Noodle is really tasty, but it wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be. Nevertheless, it is very satisfying.

The XLB is sooo good. Despite its slightly thick wrapper, the meat and soup inside is generous and really yummy.

The Kutchay Dumpling was good too, but not as good as Mien San's (my favorite place for dumplings!).

The food here will really give you a peaceful mind and a happy tummy.127836

In quest of a good xia long bao, I found peace and happiness dimsum. I say the xia long bao has Superb Taste at affordable price, Imagine 8pcs xia long bao for only 138PHP.

Other items that I order are----> beef noodles soup in chili oil , jiabao i think...hahaha, i forgot the name but this is like a asado cuapao and shamao, siomai with ground pork, mushroom and a crunchy ground pork again.

Definitely I will go back again to eat their xia long bao and to try also the other dishes they offer.

Recently our friend Kai O discovered this budget friendly asian restaurant near our office, told my partner about it, he got so eager and told me we should eat there ASAP

And so we had lunch here a few days ago, based on our friend and the past reviews about this joint, their xiao long bao is a must try, along side it we also ordered their ganban mian, wonton soup, and my oh-so favorite mantou.

Indeed the xiao long bao is legit! Well compared to other chinese resto, theirs is less soupy but the taste and quality is the same 128077. well i was kinda surprised with the ganban mian, it tastes like the favorite dish i cook most of the time, but theirs has more finesse and is more presentable, so now if im too lazy to cook i know where to find it 128518, another was their wonton soup, i don't have to as my partner if it was good or not, he kept on eating it, i was able to eat one and a half wonton (the half was just the wrapper!) it was very comforting, and lastly the mantou, well i was a bit disappointed with it being tasteless and dry but the rest of the dish was good so overall i enjoyed it 128523

Xiao Long Bao!!!

Delicious steamed dough with ground pork inside. Yummmmm!!! And at 8 pieces for only 128 pesos --- truly a value for money!!!

Also tried their Spareribs rice meal and I didn't mind that it was more ribs than the spare meat. It was sweet! Yummm again! Only 128 as well. Served with rice and mixed veggies.

Feeling a lil under the weather so we went here for some hot & spicy soup. This visit was disappointing. The A/C was not working proprerly. The beef in chili oil soup tasted bland and our XLB lost its precious soup!

But of course, this will always be my favorite place to get a cheap yet tasty XLB fix. Will still come back here even if their A/C breaks down. 128522

This is my first time to dine here and it was awesome. 128077 I ordered Sweet & Sour Spareribs and their famous Xiao Long Bao to share with my friend.

The location was great since it was easy to find, at the Ground Floor of Cityland along Mayapis Street. The restaurant is deceiving because it is quite small and you won't expect that they'll serve delicious Chinese food under reasonable prices. Pretty much how Big Bowl Noodles Restaurant is also deceiving along Binondo St.

The Sweet & Sour Pork is different than any other because it tastes tasty sweet and you won't actually tastes any sourness on it. Their rice is cooked just right and goes well with the complimentary soup. The Xiao Long Bao, is a totally different experience! Xiao Long Bao are dumplings with soup inside. The bland taste of it's wrapper goes well with the delicious meat and soup inside. You can eat it alone or with rice & soy sauce on the side. 128522128522128522 It costs Php 128 for a set of 8 pieces. Pretty much worth it huh? 128521
