There's a good story behind this place but your not really gonna stay here for to long. A quick 5 minute viewing of the area is enough.

Never had the chance to get off the van and took a clearer pic of the bell tower. Anyways, you can see it for yourself when you get to visit Ilocos Sur. There are a lot of historical places in Ilocos and everything is worth a visit.

Built in 1612 by the Augustinian Friars, this is the only bell tower in Ilocos Norte that is separated farthest from the church (St. William Cathedral) – approximately 85 meters! This bell tower sinks roughly a fraction of a centimeter per year.

sinking bell tower in laoag.. you'll appreciate it more in the evening because of the lights in the tower. we were also able to to try their famous empanada.. it's more delicious than the ones in Vigan though.

It sinks every year because of it's pyramid-like foundations.
