One of my favorite places to unwind, Lasema is a Korean spa and sauna, or jjimjilbang in 한국어 (han-gu-geo - Korean). There are 2 main areas, the wet sauna and the dry spa.

The wet sauna is directly accessible from the locker & changing area. It has a shower section, a steam room, 3 heated pools of varying degrees, and cold pool. What you do is take a shower (make sure to be clean), then take about a 5-10 min dip in each of the heated pools (start with the lowest temperature then go up), before finishing up in the cold pool. Purpose of all this is to open up your pores in the hot pools and release toxins. Then close them shut in the cold pool. Very relaxing!

You can do the steam room too but i avoid that simply because i'm not that comfortable sitting in an enclosed space, nekkid, around other nekkid dudes. 128517 Yeap, you gotta be butt nekkid in the wet sauna, thats the rule in a Korean spa. So what i do, personally, is go alone and make sure i dont know anyone when i use the wet sauna. 128514

Once you're done with the wet area, dry up, put on the shirt and shorts they give you, and proceed to the dry area. Exactly the same concept except instead of heated pools, there are heated dry sauna rooms: a salt and charcoal room, a wood and clay room, and a clay dome room, and lastly an ice room. The steps done in the wet sauna are the same steps to be done in the dry sauna area. There clay dome sauna is the hottest, so hot that i can hardly stand staying inside for 5 mins! And even then i leave drenched in sweat! 128560128167128167128167 This is also the room where they bake whole eggs for 8 hours that you can order at the canteen, delicious! The ice room is like a walk in refigerator with ice covered walls - this one's my favorite room! 10052

The dry area also has sections where you can lie down and watch Korean TV, a section where you can lounge on a LazyBoy and read, caves to take a nap in (you can actually take a nap anywhere), a massage area, and a canteen.

Food at the canteen is fantastic. Not gourmet fantastic, but i like it imperfect that way. You can order ramyeon, instant dumplings (mandu), kimbap, the aforementioned baked eggs, and iced sikhye. Sikhye is a traditional sweet Korean rice drink and is really refreshing! Theres an adjoining restaurant called Chew Young Roo that serves Korean-Chinese food like jajangmyeon, jjamppong, and the like. I loved their steamed mandu! Theirs are steamed little bite- dumplings in aromatic sesame oil, so meaty and flavorful.

And lastly, you've got to try their massage. For a service that isnt their main thrust (the facilities are), they give a great massage! The therapists are well-trained at applying the right pressure at the right places. Each time i avail, its almost a sure thing i'd fall asleep... and thats a sign of a good massage!

If you havent tried a Korean sauna I do highly urge you to. Its a relaxing experience and an excellent place to recharge after a long work week.

In Makati there is a spa that has dry and wet saunas. It is inspired by the jjim jil bang or public bath house in Korea. The place is called Lasema, aside from the saunas, which they claim have healing properties, one can also enjoy a massage here. You can stay here for 12 hours, in fact you can lie them in one of the sleep caves if you want to take a nap.

Lasema is a good place for relaxation without living the city.

If you want to experience a Korean Spa then this is the place to be! Aside from the massage and the wet area, what i like about Lasema is their sauna of different temperature level and of course their famous ice room... Plus you can also sleep inside a cave like cubicle. This spa is worth trying9786

Lasema is always my go to spa if I don't want to go home after midnight. They're open 24 hours and now they just opened Acasi Nail Art inside the spa.

"Our secret paradise"
My 4th time to visit the place and yes we got a discounted price from 990 to 495 (ensogo deal) Jjim jil bang + 1 hr massage.

After checking in at the reception area we were given a pair of short and shirt (pink for girls & gray for boys) and towels too, see photos.
The place has separate sauna room for men and women where the locker room, wet sauna and changing/powder area is located (where naked people roam around, haha).

In the wet sauna & bath area you can choose from 3 different jacuzzis (ginger, green-tea and cold one), they also have steam ( super love it!!12852510084️if you can bear heat).
They have common area called "Jjim jil bang" where the dry sauna, massage, resto (kinda small store for noodles, eggs and tea) and sleeping area are located. I haven't list down the correct name but i'll try what i remembered for the sauna.
Cold- the recovery room
Salt sauna- great for metabolism and relaxation, it has the lowest temperature (51 to 52 degree celsius)
Wood and clay (hope i'm right)- temp around 53-55 degree celsius
And the last one the dome type has the highest temp. around 74-75 degree celsius.

They have caves if you want to sleep, tv area, library area ( our sleeping area, haha) and smoking room too.
The ramen (korean noodle) is just fine but i love the egg (i think it was grilled in the dome type sauna, my only guess). I like also the cold tea soo refreshing.
The massage was excellent as usual. They have the best masseuse in town ( i recommend the deep tissue).

I think the highlight of our stay is our 6 hours sleep after the relaxing sauna and massage, fully air-conditioned and light off (haha).

went here last thursday with B :)

definitely enjoyed our stay despite we only stayed around 6 hours (one can stay up to 12 hours!!!)

a separate sauna for females and males is provided but there is also a common room where both gender can stay.

thats the only down thing i can say since i went there with B.

la sema is patented from a korean spa so those who are fond of watching koreanovelas will definitely enjoy it here. almost every koreanovela have a scene where the actress or the actor goes to a bathhouse or spa and they wear this cute shaped towels on their heads. (B taught me how to do the cute shaped towels hahahah) la sema is like that.

what the koreanovelas dont show is the separate saunas where you have to be BARE NAKED!!!

it was a first for me so i was a little hesitant. but the other customers usually koreans were all walking around like they were walking on streets fully clothed. so there goes my clothes hahaha

in the common room, there are 3 different types of sauna which they say is the secret to korean skin ;)

i tried everything and it was good. even the massage was goooooddd! :)

will definitely come back here!

Lasema Jjim Jil Bang Spa, I always go here at least once a week. I like that it's open 24 hours and you can stay up to 12 hours. The spa has several pools: Ginseng, Green Tea, Cold & Hot, it has several saunas as well: Charcoal Sauna, Oakwood Sauna, Charcoal & Oakwood Sauna and Ice Sauna. I think the place needs a renovation, it's kinda worn-out. If you're planning to visit pls avoid weekends there are lots of people during weekends you can't even take a nap.

Dead tired and dead bored? Why not soak in tubs of different aromatic waters ranging from cold to scalding hot. There's also the ultra hot steam sauna which is not for the faint hearted- you'll faint with the heat. I did that last night with a friend at 11pm. After which we had
Noodles at their authentic korean jimjilbang. It's like having those cup noodles at home with the ambience. Hot soak Php250. Noodles and tea egg PhP125 each.

If you wanna to relax physically and mentally, this is the place to be! Aside from skilled therapists, they have several jacuzzis where you can soak your body into different herbal teas. :)
