The most underrated shabu shabu spot in the Metro!

Hole in the wall shabu-shabu place in Mabini. Food is cheap so there is no need to scrimp on the ingredients of the soup. This makes it the food delicious because you can just put anything and everything in it.

My ultimate go to shabu shabu place 128513!

This has seriously been my favourite for years now, I only managed to go back when my sister and her partner was in the country.

Tips:
You can ask for a divider for your shabu shabu pot. I always ask for one when my partner orders frog. Yes... FROG. Lol

Check the menu for dishes that aren't cooked shabu shabu style. The fried dumplings are YUM and they also have chili garlic fried frog or something along those lines.

You NEED to try the FISH CHEESE BUN. This is what kept me coming back for all these years. Oozing melted cheese in a small cube. 9786

Remember to order noodles and other fillers like veggies so your pot isn't full of fish balls and meat.

I've been to other more pricier places, but nothing beats lau chan in my books. We usually spend around 1.5k for four people.

It's that time of the year once again where Blanca R I give up meat for 40 days. We've decided to go back to our old favorite Shabu-shabu place in Malate, Lau chan :)

The shrimps and Fish Cheese Bun were out of stock when we visited so we ordered crab roe, seafood bun, oysters, and the yellow one :))

With sate and lots of chili, my taste buds were in heaven! If you haven't tried this place yet, you're missing a lot! Mura na, masarap pa!

Highly-recommended!

Sa uulitin,
Chewy

Im not a fan of shabu shabu, but after hearing good reviews for this restaurant and knowing that their offerings are very affordable, I've decided to give it a try.

Lau chan is a typical Chinese restaurant with white tables, simple chairs and, most especially, with too much background noise! 128514128514128514 But with these characteristics and knowing that this has been here for years, you're pretty sure that the food are really great.

So, for the broth, we had Sate soup. We also ordered beef kenchi, squid balls, corn, broccoli, cheese fish bun and yang chow fried rice.

>Sate soup- it was really tasty! Thanks to MSG, haha!

>Yang chow fried rice- this was really good! I can probably finish 2 cups or 3. 128540

But the star of the night was the CHEESE FISH BUN!!! First bite and I knew it was 10084️! Look at the picture above, please! 128513 It looked like a normal fish ball but with a very tasty mozzarella filling. If you're a cheese lover, you should try this! And for sure, you'll thank me for recommending this, hahaha!

For sure I'll be back and I hope really soon. 128522

I think this is the best shabu shabu/hot pot place nobody knows about.. Even for full fledged Chinese! Try the cheese balls!

Perfect food for this weather. They serve affordable hot pot and you get to choose which ones to put in. As for the taste, all I can say is PERFECTION!! From their basic broth to their very own steamed dumplings. You'll never go wrong with Lau Chan.

Budget per head ranges from PhP200 up which already includes 300g of fresh LIVE suahe. (As in tumatalon pa!)

My family and I have been customers of this place since it started back in the early 2000's. The owner is a chef from HK but has been living in Manila for years now. The ingredients are fresh and you can even order live seafood. The place may not look like much but the dining experience is superb.
