Lazy Bastard has been around for quite some time and I've always wanted to go because hello, their mantra is "long live bacon."128517🥓🥓🥓 But for some reason, I just never had the chance to go.

Just recently, I found out there's a branch along Taft, in front of my work place. So of course, I had to go. Agad agad.

There weren't a lot of people when I got there so I took my time reading the menu. I ordered their Honey Parmesan Hotdog since it's a starred item and honey just sounded good. So, verdict: I loved it! The hotdog was wrapped in a perfect strip of bacon and there were slices of Parmesan cheese on the side, not grated. The honey provided just enough sweetness which I really liked. Also, there's arugula on top to make it pa-healthy. 127807 Oh and the bun was good too. 🌭🌭🌭🌭🌭

I was in the area last Wednesday afternoon and thought to myself, now is the most opportune time to try out Lazy Bastard. I read in posts that there are times that the neon sign is turned off or worst not working. I was so relieved to see that the pink glow sign shined brightly throughout the small space. They perfectly recreated their Jupiter branch and transported it to the bustling Taft Avenue area. They get very busy during lunch time. Front of house are very friendly and will explain everything to new guests. I ordered a Chili Dog upgraded to a meal for an additional 90pesos, instead of buying the onion rings and drinks a la carte. You get to save over 80pesos. I love the texture of the hotdog. It is firm and had a smokey flavor. The chili covered the entire bun and was very spicy. It was a bit dry though and was not saucy as i would expect it too be. They added cheese on top giving it that full on chili look. The onion rings were huge and batter fried. My only qualm though - it was soo oily. Grease were dripping through my fingers. The CalamanTea tasted sweet with small notes of sourness, faint Calamansi taste. Overall, it was a fast afternoon break. Although, i do not think this is geared to the student crowd since most prices are above 200pesos. For special occassions perhaps, perfect place for small victories. It sure gives off that cheery vibe.

I had the Parmesan Honey dog (200php) + combo upgrade (90php). I loved how juicy and flavorful the sausage was, it was perfectly paired with arugula and parmesan to balance the flavor. It had hints of sweetness on the bun too, may be weird but I actually liked it. Very clever! For me it's worth the price. For the combo, I got the tater tots, it was okay but I'm not really a fan of super duper fried food, so I didnt finish it. The calamantea tasted like normal sweetened iced tea. Next time just ditch the combo upgrade if you're watching your diet! But overall, this place is really good, staff were friendly, and ambiance nice. There were a few 'langaws' making appearance while I was eating though, but not really a reason to hate.
