This is much better! The kind of bar I love to go to. I had sex on the beach for P250. I kind of imagined it to be a mix of yellow and red colors haha but it was all cherry red. It was alright. I love the bar because it's breezy, outdoorsy type. I could stay a bit longer but I'm soo tired and need to catch a flight tomorrow so I headed to my much better hostel, The Good Shepherd. Better than Z Hostel but I couldn't find it in the |ooloo database to review.

I spent the most awkward night of my life here, and I can say without a doubt that this place contributed to the awkwardness hahaha. The place itself is very sketchy looking (LOL) and the food is terrible. 128557 I ordered vegetable pasta and it was literally just salty cream. I almost always finish my food, but I couldn't even finish half of my plate.

My brother ordered a salad and it was bad too. They took really long to prepare it (buying fresh ingredients...?) hahaha but the presentation was so sloppy.

This shames French food HUHU or maybe they treated me like an ~unworthy~ customer since I look like a minor... HAHAHA. Never ever going back here. EVER.

This is a very homey lounge / cafe. Good for a night out to unwind. Their playlist is kind of jammed, and I'd prefer live bands of course! I also dont understand the purpose of the huge screen --- ?

A zen feel isn't bad at all, though proper ventilation would be more comfortablel.

Tried their flavored rhum and I didn't like it. Simply not a fan of banana, and pineapple 128514 they dont have berry variants! Howsaaaad.

Probably not going back any time soon but if I do so, I'll probably try anything but flavored rhum 128514

I was here for dinner with a friend a few nights ago. While the ambience is quite lovely and charming, the food is nothing spectacular. I had the beef strips with blue cheese (php365), while my friend ordered the beef steak (php380). We also had the cheese plate (php485) to share. I found the beef in my dish a bit tough and the blue cheese sauce lacking in the tangy bite you'd expect from blue cheese (it seemed too diluted). The cheese plate was decent though.

This place is known for its rum, which it makes itself. I was driving home so I limited myself to two shots, the first being ginger flavoured and the second as the pineapple infused one. Both were good but I preferred the ginger one more. I'd go back here to try the other rum flavours. (Price per shot = Php80) my friend tried the pastis (php100) which was ok, if you like something that tastes like anise.

If you plan to go here, I recommend to come for the drinks. Eat elsewhere.

I was curious about the place (yes, you saw what I did there, but it was true). We came in through the garden entrance from Badajos St, not knowing what to expect. The decor struck me as tropical, but not French Indochine tropical. I imagined it as what the French would do stuck in an island like Boracay. If the floor was made of sand I wouldn't have been surprised. But what accounted for the non-tropical lamps? Then aha I thought, it's eclectic! Like Celine's apartment in Before Sunset. The French -- they like eclectic and shabby chic. Or so I imagine. :) Anyway the food - I had the beef with Blue cheese. I did taste the flavor of the cheese, and the meat was tender, and so I liked it. My friend had a seafood dish, the name which I forgot but she liked it too. A bit pricey, but Makati is like that. The house gave us a shot of rum free each, which oddly smelled very nice. They do their own rum at that place. We decided to go out of the Polaris St. side which was through a bar and the decor again changed - this one wouldn't be out of place in France I imagine. The bar had all these jars of custom-made rum and there was more artwork on the walls from a Spanish artist named Cesar Caballero wanting to sell them. We met Julia, the manager, who was very helpful and just for her pitch alone we'd go back (Beef fondue Tuesdays anyone?) if we weren't already charmed by the place. I heartily recommend it! It can be a pitstop for your European cuisine tour - right across the street there's La Dolce Vita with its Tango nights and one of the best old Spanish restaurants Alba -- where the waiters look like they'd been there for years and you will be serenaded in Spanish. Yes, it's just a hop-skip-and-jump from red-light district Burgos St. but then you can avoid that by using the Jupiter Street entrance into Polaris if you like to keep your rose-colored la vie en rose glasses.

Had dinner here with filipino and expat friends. The place is nice, cozy but their food is just ok. I ordered Lémincé au poivre (beef strips in pepper sauce) which is in the photo. It has a side salad, ratatouille and potatoes. The taste is too bland for me.. Quite pricey for me because the food is not that good. 128532 then i ordered mojito that costs P250 per glass. They used dark rum instead of white rum and not much mint in it. Not worth it for me. It didn't taste like mojito. Anyways, its worth a try. But might not come back here anymore, unless was invited for something. Hehe!

Le Cafe Curieux, a seemingly nondescript French establishment in Makati Ave, doesn't feel all that French, but neither is it totally uninteresting. With it's boho vibe, one could conjure up images of a sandy beach, waves crashing onto the shore and trees swaying with the breeze. With it's predominantly foreign patrons, the place is uncrowded and not too loud, perfect for a steady night over beers. Wouldn't recommend the food just yet -- I thought the cheese platter could be better. With its price (which is totally expected from a French joint), I would've appreciated some manchego, Brie, Camembert or Emmental at least, instead of cheddar and Queso de Bola. It's saving grace, though, would be the mussels-all-you can promo which we happily devoured as though we were eating pistachios. But, for the vibe alone, I'd give it 4 stars. I'd definitely be back, but only for beers.

Interesting place. Very quaint and gives off a homey, welcoming vibe. Try their homemade rum, the flavors are interesting and it's only 80 pesos per shot!

If you want great French food and great cocktails this is a great place. It's a bit pricey and the whole place is a smoking area.

French version of Soms! No bad food so far and it's French food at very affordable prices. Service can definitely be better. But who can argue at these prices? Budget only at around 500 for a decent French meal. Wine of glass at 100. Gambas and the bread are what ill be back for.
