I've been going to Le Ching since I was a kid. My family and I go there for lunch or snacks whenever we're in Greenhills. It's pretty much my go-to place for hakao and noodles. Why? Because :

• their food is just full of flavor.

• Service is actually fast, given that they're packed most of the time.

• IT IS AFFORDABLE! Two years ago, I was jobless and I was craving for Chinese food so bad. With the money I had, I was able to get all the food that I was craving for.

• HUGE SERVING SIZE. Now, I don't really knownif it's a plus or not. But, you really must make space for all the food when you eat here.

It's too bad though, GH is the nearest branch from my house and I live in Marikina. 128546

Highly-recommended: HAKAO, BEEF BRISKET, and CHICKEN AND MUSHROOM.

my friend asked me if i can join him to an early dinner here. i said I'll try as I have a 4pm appointment. lo and behold, we were eating by 545.

I ordered spare ribs rice 128077128077128077128077128077. there were more spare ribs this time around. nabitin ako sa rice but I didn't want to order more rice.

i also ordered radish cake 128077128077128077128077. I forgot to tell the waiter that i wanted it crispy, but they know me too well that they served it crispy.

i love eating here specially with their chili sauce (pictured). I could even eat the chili sauce with just rice. 128514 i have some more pics but they're all empty plates. hehe

Whenever you have occasion to pop by Greenhills to get your cellphone "fix," Greenhills being the mobile gadget capital of the country, it's always a good idea to get your "Le Ching fix." Despite the slew of new restaurants, there's also something to be said about the classics, the oldie-but-goodie place that satisfies your hunger but also magically conjures of fond memories, where the boys and I would eat after competitive Saturday basketball nearby, or good times with family and friends. Yep, that is Le Ching for me.

Earlier today, I had to get some back job done on my iPad screen replacement and my wife happily agreed to accompany me to GH. And she also agreed to let me choose where to eat. Yahoo!

In Le Ching, my top of mind is their rice toppings. Beef Brisket or Spareribs Rice. That's it. Though the have congee, noodles, noodle soup, and those are all perfectly fine, you just gotta go with rice toppings first. Le Ching is a tea house-- fairly cheap, relatively quick food. And how I love Chinese food that way.

So I had me a beef brisket rice topping. Asked for extra sabaw to sauce the rice well. Then I ordered their excellent siomai, and then added their fried dumplings which is the first time I've tried theirs.

Beef Brisket Rice - Awesome beef brisket soaked in its own broth, topped on rice. Traditional stainless steel container. Occasionally, you'll get some litid but generally, it's very good. More people prefer the spareribs and that's fine. But this is my first choice. 5/5

Siomai - 4 small pieces, but really flavorful. I don't know what they put in here but it works. Not that cheap anymore considering its size, being over P100, but not bad. I think it's P120 to P130 range. 4.5/5

Fried dumpling - not bad, but I've had better. Crunchy outside but the inside's just okay. Some kind of meat. 3/5

Tried my wife's Asado Rice, too. It was decent, but it'll never go to my top 3 rice toppings (the 3rd being Chicken Mushroom Rice after beef brisket and spareribs)

Dont expect much on service as they're typically understaffed but the two guys who attended to me, despite the place being full, were good. Gave them a good tip each. 4/5

The ambience, don't expect. It's a freaking tea house. It's also their 2nd branch in the same Shoppers Ville building in GH, just on the other side closer sa tiangge; that's how popular they are.128513 And the turnover was quick, almost the entire resto changed while I was there 1-2pm. Nice.

Their chili garlic is absolutely the best! More garlic than chili. I finished an entire tea cup's worth! 5,000/5 Best chili garlic ever!

Our default lunch place whenever we go to Greenhills.

On the table
Spareribs Rice - love love love this! I have tried this dish in other restos but this is still my fave version. I eat it with some toyomansi and a hint of chili.
Chicken Mushroom Rice - same flavor as the spareribs but i still prefer the pork! Watch out for small bones!
Fish Tofu Rice - mom always gets this and ends up eating most of the tofu
Wanton Soup
Chicken Feet
Hakao - wrapper was a bit thick and could have used a bit more time in the steamer.

There are 2 branches in Greenhills but we tend to eat in Le Ching Too most of the time. It seems brighter and more comfortable although space is tight. Don't expect excellent service. They tend to get busy but the Spareribs Rice is sooooo worth it!

No photos because my friend and I didn't realize how hungry we were until the food arrived.

After we shopped, I suddenly blurted out "I miss Le Ching na." when we passed by it. So, she pulled me back to Le Ching. Entering Le Ching made me remember how my Achi and my mom would bring me there for merienda after shopping when I was a kid. I always loved their beef brisket and the smell that lingers in the store. It will always be my favorite Chinese restaurant in Greenhills no matter how many Chinese restaurants emerge or something. I don't only pay for the food, but for the sense of familiarity and of family it gives me too; I pay for the happy memories it offers me. So, I don't really mind spending money here even if the service kind of sucks somehow. :))

Since I was craving for hakao, I ordered hakao and, yes, their beef wanton noodles. Maaan, did the flavors played with my tastebuds! Everything hit the right spot! Although, it would've been lovely if the soup wasn't a tad bit cold and if the noodles wasn't too dry. But the flavors were spot on. The soup wasn't too salty; the beef was oh-so tender; the wanton was cooked perfectly! The hakao was also superb! I love how sweet the shrimps are (meaning they're cooked perfectly!) and the wrapper wasn't too sticky. It didn't really stick on the roof of my mouth. Ahhh! My tummy is beyond happy. :> And I only paid 172Php for the noodles and 119Php for 4 pcs of hakao. Plus, the countless memories that flashed in my mind while I was eating. :)

My friend had beef brisket noodles and she was happy with it! She paid 168Php for her meal.

Well, the food still impressed me, but the staff? I don't think so. :( I noticed how the other customers would get irritated because they have been asking for something (ex. Soda), and it took them 10 mins and 5 more times to ask for soda before they actually get it. I actually asked one of the servers for chopsticks and two glasses of water and I got it after probably 15 mins--- after another server asked me if we were waiting for our food pa. Then, they thought they misplaced our reciept so it took them 20mins (and me asking for the bill thrice) to give us another copy of the reciept. After I paid, another server came and gave us the "original" reciept. And everybody (the manager and some of the staff) was like, "Nakay *name of server* pala eh! Kanina pa namin hinahanap eh!" It was with him all along and it slipped his mind; he forgot that we asked for our bill and he's supposed to collect the payment. Oh well. Also, it was really crowded and super hot! :(

... But whatevs, I got the chinese part of my being happy. Yay to hakao!!! I can eat their hakao all day long! :>

A childhood favorite, my cousins and I always eat at Le Ching whenever we're in Greenhills. It wouldn't be an understatement when I say all the time. What with the quick service and delicious and affordable Chinese food, who wouldn't come back, right?

Spareribs (steamed with taosi) is what we always order, paired with the ever-tasty century egg. There is more than a cup's worth of rice per serving, so it'd surely fill you up.
