I found this last slice in the fridge. I bought this from my trip last weekend as pasalubong for my aunt. As a foodie this is Best Buko Pie you can find in Los Baños. You can eat its flaky crust and not waste it. Am not a fan of too much sweetness and Lety's has just about that right sweetness. I had this last slice for breakfast with my daily dose of coffee. Move over ORIGINAL...you may have long lines but a true foodie would know where to scout the best.

Forget the vendors along the streets of Los Baños and Calamba. There will only be two legit buko pie brands - Original's buko pie and Lety's buko pie.

Taste is subjective. Some will like Letys'. Others will prefer Originals'. In my case, I prefer the latter since I practically grew up eating their Buko Pie. My family we'll only end up with Letys' if we can't take the crazy lines at Originals' or if they ran out of stock.

The box I bought was still warm when it was handed to me. Lety's buko pie is sweeter and like just like Originals' they are not stingy with buko meats.

You know what to do the next time you're in my hometown looking for one. You've been warned!128522

True-blue Elbizens know it's a choice only between Original and Lety's for best LB buko pie. While Original is the tourist spot, it's often Lety's that we serve to our guests at home. Maybe it's because of the long line at Original (and the lack thereof at Lety's), but it's also the quality of the Lety's pie. Although to be quite honest I haven't even had a bite of Original pie (or any other brand) in decades. That says a lot, don't you think?

Today we had to go back to the store because they were out of stock and waiting for the next batch, so we got it straight from the oven. It was so warm and the cream filling so yummy. The coconut was nice and firm, not hard like the ones sold by those no-namers. And the crust was flaky and not too salty. It was heaven in two slices. 128523128523128523
