LIDO Cocina Tsina which has been around since 1936 serves Chinese dishes injected with the Filipino taste that we love. The restaurant which started as a modest eatery in Binondo was called Panciteria Lido. Mr. Lido, the Chinese chef-cum-owner served his classic Chinese favorites such as asado, guisado, noodles, and wanton with the sweet and salty flavor Filipinos love. With the goal of expanding his menu, he later experimented with a Chinese pork roast recipe that well-matched the Filipino taste.

On our visit to Panciteria Lido Cocina Tsina Visayas Branch, we tried the following:

Yangchow Fried Rice Mucho

Drunken Lechon Macau 250g

Steamed Pork Ribs with Taosi

Chopsuey Guisado

Sotanghon

Buttered Chicken

Pinipig Jelly Cooler

Drunken Lechon Macau and Buttered Chicken were to die for! As the menu described it, the Drunken Lechon Macau is indeed a Cantonese Gastronomy at its finest! There are no shortcuts in preparing this dish. The pieces of pork belly were carefully picked and cured in premium wine and spices for 60 hours. Now that explains the richness of flavor which is the same for the Buttered Chicken. Not to mention, the crispiness in every bite.

The Steamed Pork Ribs with Taosi, I must say was also delish. People say that this is the best and well-known dim sum dish because of the tender meat and flavor. I, too, would agree. As soon as the waiter opened the lid, the aroma was simply irresistible. And the meat, boy was it juicy and tender.

The place has a great facade and it has ample parking space. The food is the best. No doubt about it. However I do wish its function hall is bigger. That's the only downside about this place. 30 pax for an event is too small.

I really love to eat delicious food especially when it's raining. And one of my most favorite hangout is this restaurant along visayas avenue. Their foods are all superb when it comes to taste and quality, and take note, di sya ganun kamahal so masusulit nyo talaga everything na orderin NYo. I also loved their service, staff are very nice and approachable. You must try their brewed coffee, sobrang sarap talaga nya, full bodied coffee na maeenjoy ng mga coffee lovers n katulad ko

Breakfast again at Lido, seems like we're never gonna get tired of their great choices! Trying out the classico breakfast medley this time with tapa, longganisa and camaron! Of course, it wouldn't be complete without their siphon coffee

I used to have better memories here than the ones I had today. Their siumai and chami noodles were good though.

Their Yang Chow was a disappointment--vegetables and protein only acted as garnish.

The Spareribs felt like it had 90% fat and only 10% meat. The vinegar sauce and bellpepper garnish played a good role with cutting out the richness of the dish.

Their Asado baked in pugon was rather a lackluster. It was bland. Very bland--a far cry from what I've had in their UN branch.

Giving this resto 3 stars because I believe it's just a branch issue. I'm hoping so.

Whenever I drive by Visayas Ave., QC, I can't resist to eat here at Lido. They have the best Asado in town and to make it even better, they made it Sizzling. That's a must try here all the time. For around P800 you can have a good meal for 2 people. Complete with your choice of Chorizo Rice or Yang Chow rice. Yang chow rice never fails. :)

After a morning of meetings along mindanao ave., we stopped by this place to grab brunch. The place was packed and Ive been wanting to try their pugon roasted asado.

To my surprise, the asado was hands down good. Altho, i found that some people are so used to the generic chinese asado thats red, and saucy. This one was very particular with the taste of the meat itself.

I love how the place is well lighted up by the sun and im glad they have wide space for parking unlike the other branches.

It's like going home to something familiar, if you're Filipino.

It's a breakfast affair with the fambam and since I'm still sleepy, I have no idea what we ordered, except its garlic rice and a couple of pork dishes.

I don't know much about Chinese food, but the food here definitely has that Filipino-Chinese vibe. You can taste the spices that you'd only find in Binondo eateries or authentic Chinese restaurants, yet overall still fully familiar to my chocolate brown Filipino taste.

The thing is, it's not amazing food, but for the price, very well executed. Perhaps it may be just this branch, but the chef here sure knows how to cook his pork right.

I attended the baptism of friend's baby last Saturday. Reception was at Lido, which I never heard of until that day.
We were served their pancit canton, fried rice, fried chicken, steamed fish, chopsuey and wanton soup. All, as in all of these dishes, were delish!
Will definitely come back to try it some other days to see how their food and service are on regular days.
